I ordered over $250 of food from Sagarathome, to be delivered to Albany, NY but my food arrived warm & spoiled. They shipped my parcel on Monday and it was delivered on Tuesday, still my food arrived warm & certain items arrived spoiled. I had to trash all my food since I didn't want to take any risk. Waste of money!!!

Rui fish curry and vegetable curry were tasty. Fish curry had lot of oil though. Tea and Rosh malai were good too.
I’ve been having a terrible experience there because every time I take kababs from here , they make me wait for a long time and on top of that , the hijabi lady who been working there for a while now have no manners and professionalism at all. Once I asked her for extra sauce for 1 kabab she lied to to me that they don’t have any, when it’s clearing visible from the register that they do have in the fridge, when i pointed her that they have it, she got one sauce when I already mentioned her that I need extra sauce and I’ll pay for it, she said to me how many sauce I need for 1 kabab, even when I said I’ll pay for my extra stuff, she began to act stingy and rude over a sauce. No manners/ customers service at all. They should fire this kind of unprofessional employee who just came to the country and doesn’t know how to provide proper customer service.
I heard lots of good reviews about this. But food was avarage. They need to improve the taste of food or change the chef
I ordered takeout from Sagar Chinese today, and unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The chili chicken dry smelled burnt, and the shrimp balls were hard and seemed old. This was not the quality I expected.
I had a great experience dining in here, there is always servers who is ready to serve you and they treat you with kindness and care. Whenever I’m dining here I’m always having a good time eating and enjoying my meals.
SCAM ALERT! Do not buy their pre-packaged biryani platters. I purchased 2 platters of beef biryani from Sagar and got nothing but bones — not even a single piece of meat. I paid full price for beef biryanis. This is clearly being done intentionally.

They’re charging full price for meat biryani and then giving customers scraps. Completely dishonest business practice.

I couldn’t go all the way back, so I lost my money. If you value your money and your time, avoid this place — they clearly don’t respect their customers.
You will get Authentic Bangladeshi style morning breakfast here. We ordered Dal with veg, porota & beef kala vuna (too good). Behavior of the food server & cashier was really nice.
I visit Sagar Restaurant in Hillside ave, Jamaica on June-05 -2025 like 5:30 pm. I take 2 chicken biryani & 1 kachi biryani, they charge me for kachi biryani $16, but they give me last night left over rice with meat not the basmati rice. It’s really unexpected to this famous restaurant. I have a proof with pictures & recipe. Very shameful.
I recently visited Sagar Restaurant in NY, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The Chinese food was not authentic, and the flavors didn’t hit the mark. On top of that, the food felt overpriced for the quality. I’ve had much better quality at other places outside of here.

While the service was okay, I wouldn’t recommend this spot if you’re looking for a great meal. There are definitely better options in the area for both quality and value.
Kacchi Biriyani and Faluda taste was good but the atmosphere and service providers was average. Sometimes their freshers don’t even know how to take order politely from the customer! Also lacking of cleanliness on the table and people gossip even after finishing the meal. Should be more comfortable place to enjoy food with family.
I went for a breakfast outing with my son, and he wanted to order his favorite dish, khala bhuna. We decided to get that along with two roti, and I added a milk tea for myself. Unfortunately, the khala bhuna was a disappointment—it barely had any meat, mostly bones, sauce and the flavor was off. To make things worse, I found a piece of potato in it, which made me question whether they gave us the wrong dish, like beef with potatoes. It tasted bland and didn’t resemble the khala bhuna we were expecting. Since it was quite expensive, we both decided to try and eat it anyway.

When the server came to clear the table, I asked if potatoes were supposed to be in their khala bhuna, and he seemed confused, saying no and wondering why I would find one in there, especially since he was the one who prepared it. The tea was good, though, and I used it to wash away the terrible taste of the khala bhuna. The roti was a bit dry but passable, though I remember it being much better in the past. I definitely won’t be ordering that dish again.
I wanted to try some Bengali food, and this restaurant was recommended by a local. Kala bhuna, chicken samosa, and tea were really delicious. I didn't like the chicken kebab. It almost had no meat, or maybe this how it's done. Overall, great restaurant and I'll come again.
Haven't had their food in a while, until tonight. Forgot how good this restaurant is. We had the chicken lollipop, beef fried rice, chili chicken, spicy beef, lo mein. The most tastiest fish was the fish with vegetables. We brought the food home this time but we ate here in the past. Would definitely go there or bring their food again.
Amazing food, the service is just alright, but then it is a no frills kinda place. The food is spot on every time, very consistent taste, just love it. Never been disappointed, tastes like home cooked, but better.
