A great experience overall. The food was really good, the server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food took a bit to come but totally worth the wait. A great place to relax and enjoy your meal.
We ordered the tuna ceviche to start. We loved the taste but not for someone that does not like taste of lime.
The Covina a lo Macho was amazing. Great for someone who likes a medley of sea food in a single dish. Our parents ordered the Salmon Quinotto and that was great too.
Portion sizes are pretty decent and shareable if u also ordered an appetizer.
Do leave some space for dessert!!

My wife and I decided to try Kausa to see how good this Peruvian restaurant really is. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed and left us with a lot to think about.
I ordered the Trío Marino. The arroz con mariscos was actually good and probably the best part of the dish. The ceviche was also fresh and flavorful. The chicharrón de pescado was not bad either, but what really surprised me was that the plate came with fries. I love fries, but honestly, fries do not belong in a traditional Trío Marino. I have never in my life in Peru seen a Trío Marino served with fries. For me, that combination simply does not match and feels completely wrong for a classic Peruvian seafood dish. It may sound dramatic, but for a Peruvian food lover, that is almost a sin.
My wife ordered the sirloin steak medium well, but unfortunately it arrived almost raw. That was disappointing, especially considering how simple it should be to get the cooking temperature right.
Now, to be fair, there were also very positive things about this place. First of all, after living in New York for more than 20 years, this is honestly the first Peruvian restaurant where I could actually hear authentic Peruvian música criolla playing in the background. That gave the restaurant a very warm and nostalgic atmosphere that I truly appreciated.

Another highlight was our waiter, Carlos. He was very attentive, friendly, professional, and constantly checked on us to make sure everything was okay. Great service from him and the overall environment was nice and welcoming.

Overall, the ambiance and service were very good, but the food quality and some questionable choices in the dishes made the experience disappointing for us.

The food was excellent. I had the Salmon Norteño! easily a 10/10 and the Lomo Saltado, which was a strong 9/10.

The cocktails leaned lighter on the alcohol, which can be good or bad depending on your preference, but they were still delicious and well-balanced in flavor.

Mind you I'm usually very picky, but i loved everything I was seeing on that menu! Definitely coming back here again!!

Good Peruvian cuisine. Lots of space, has an open bar with an extensive drinks menu. Food tends to be overly salty personally. Portions are also reasonable for many of the items. It is Peruvian-approved by the party that joined me, especially the ceviche that uses corvina instead of the common tilapia.

We had a wonderful experience at Kausa Restaurant in New York. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavor. What truly made the day special was our amazing server, Jennifer. She was attentive, kind, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Thanks to her, we were able to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday in such a memorable and joyful way. Thank you, Jennifer, and thank you Kausa for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing. I continue to fall more and more in love with it. I bumped into this place randomly while waiting for a friend and went in for their happy hour frozen margarita that extends till 9 PM and loved it from the beginning. The margaritas are only seven dollars till 9 PM and they are made deliciously with a tequila that does not give you a hangover the next day or bartender Ricardo, both times that I visit was extremely helpful and and such a good time. He described to us the dishes in detail and the drinks as well. He introduce us to pisco, the traditional Peruvian spirit. The food was incredible extremely tasteful and complex. Although the servers and host and other workers were polite, friendly, and very welcoming, the place is beautifully decorated the Mariscos are delicious. I’m looking forward to my next visit can’t wait to have many more dishes from the menu. Can’t wait to come over with more friends and enjoy the incredible happy hour margaritas

My friend recommended this restaurant for their happy hour frozen margaritas. The group enjoyed the frozen margaritas, I enjoyed my passion fruit mocktail.

We decided to have dinner here and we were not disappointed. I was determined to try the Kausa lamiña dish. I have celiac disease and Ricardo was very helpful with letting me know which dishes are gluten free. I asked for extra green sauce, which tastes great with everything.

Ricardo let us try a shot of Dominican pisco shot, very strong!

Ricardo then gave us an ice cream. I forgot which fruit, I’ll ask my friend, but it was surprising with favor. It was more vanilla, chocolate and sort of coffee tasting.

Overall the food and drinks were good, Ricardo was great!

Highly recommend! Would go again!

The food and drinks at this Peruvian restaurant were absolutely amazing. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The drinks were refreshing and perfectly crafted, and the dessert was lovely rich, well-balanced, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend! Let me start off by saying it was just pure excellence from the moment we got there. The hostess had greeted us with pure kindness. Our bartender Ricardo took care off us from the moment we got there. Amazing service and great recommendation on the pulpo à la parrilla. The pisco sours were the best I ever had. Highly recommend trying this place!

Kausa is a vibrant celebration of Peruvian flavor and hospitality. The parihuela was a bold, soul-warming seafood symphony—spicy, rich, and deeply satisfying. The ceviche de corvina was a masterclass in freshness, with citrus-kissed white fish, sweet potato, and corn dancing in perfect harmony. Loves the cozy yet electric ambiance—especially the cool blue lighting and traditional touches—made it feel like a mini escape. I’ve returned several times, and it’s now my go-to spot for a light dinner and drinks by the bar.

I like Peruvian food because they have great flavors. Found Kausa between my meeting place and hotel, and noticed they have a nice collection of Ceviches.
Staffs are very friendly and the decor is nice. I ordered the seafood mix ceviche for appetizer and the shrimp on rice for entree. The ceviche was very refreshing, packed with flavor, citrus and some heat. Seafoods were nicely prepared, not chewy or mooshy. The shrimp over rice was packed with flavors, kind like a coconut curry, nicely done.
