It was late and decided to eat Ramen. Jin Ramen was the closest. But their ramen had no taste to it . I”ve eaten at places that charge $16.95 and it tasted better with more food stuff in the bowl. It was not worth $22. Plus when my husband selected the auto 18% tip - the system calculated a 20% tip for them. Crooks! Will never go back until they change and be more honest and don’t cheat or take advantage of their customers!!!

I’ve tried a broad range of ramen places throughout the city and Jin ramen always gets it right. I had the black garlic shio ramen that came with karaage and my husband had the classic tonkotsu. We both loved our orders — the broth and the noodles really hit the spot on a cool spring evening.

Service was kind but not too “in your face”. I hate when places are extra pushy about ordering appetizers and dessert when one bowl of ramen (each) is usually enough to put us in a coma and have us wishing we were wearing stretchier pants.

Prices seem like they’re getting high (probably can’t be helped) but considering the care they put into the food, I’d say it’s worth it overall.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much, Jenny! We’re really happy you both enjoyed the Black Garlic Shio and Classic Tonkotsu. We truly appreciate your kind words and are glad you enjoyed our homemade broth, homemade chashu, and noodles made from scratch. Hope to see you again soon 🍜

This is a great local place on the UWS for comfy hearty bowls of ramen. We got two Orion beers and a Tonkotsku and a Spicy Tonkotsu. Great service and vibe and their noodles are incredible. All around excellent place.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Sapphira! We love hearing that you enjoyed the Tonkotsu, Spicy Tonkotsu, and Orion beers together, that’s a perfect combo 🍻🍜 We’re especially happy the noodles stood out to you since they’re made fresh from scratch in-house every day. Hope to have you back at our UWS spot again soon!

I am very picky with my ramen and this is one of the better places I’ve been to. The lunch special for ramen, appetizer, and drink for 28 dollars was priced well for what I got. They had a green tea lemonade which was very unique. The ramen was excellent along with the chicken gyoza. Also the staff and service were spot on. I would definitely give this place a shot if you are in the area and looking for ramen.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Derek! Coming from someone picky about ramen, your review really means a lot to us. We’re glad you enjoyed the lunch special, green tea lemonade, and chicken gyoza. Our team works hard every day on our homemade broth, chashu, and noodles, so we truly appreciate the support. Hope to see you again next time you’re in the neighborhood 🍜

I felt the Kuro Shio ramen was ok. It wasn’t as flavorful as I’d like. We did also get their plum wine that I loved. It was perfectly sweet and very delicious. They have so many other items on the menu I’d love to come back and try. Service was great and it was a cozy ambiance, perfect for winter

Response from the owner

Thank you for your honest feedback, Anushka. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the plum wine, service, and cozy atmosphere. We also appreciate your thoughts on the Kuro Shio ramen, feedback like this helps us continue improving. We’d love to welcome you back to try more items from our menu next time 🍜✨

I loooove Jin Ramen! Always a staple for us, since we live in the neighborhood!
SADLY though , I ordered take out and the side of bun had the description in the photo and SADLY I only got two empty buns :(.
Perhaps y’all should change the description on your ordering website. Still love this place but Sad Empty Buns tonight :(

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for your kind words and support we really appreciate having you as a neighborhood regular.

We’re sorry for the confusion with the side steamed buns. They are meant to be plain with no toppings, and the photo/description was incorrect. We’ve updated it to avoid this going forward.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to see you again soon!

Friday Jan 2,
When a place puts the menus on the table for the four of us to hand out ourselves, ok
When I order hot sake and you leave 4 cups and don’t serve us, ok
The kakuni Phillipine style ramen broth was salty and COLD, starting to get disappointed
Never checked on us, which at this point I’m not surprised
noodles were very good
Pork was delicious
My friend liked their veggie ramen
The hot sake tasted weird, very lemony

Service like this is why I’m tipping 8-10%, its not a charge or requirement, it’s based on the service, not the bill

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for your feedback.
We truly care about every guest’s experience, and we’re very sorry that we missed the mark during your visit.

What you described is not the level of service or quality we aim for, and we’ve shared your comments with our team so we can improve. At the same time, we’re really glad you enjoyed the our homemde noodles and homemade chashu pork, and that your friend liked the veggie ramen, thank you for mentioning that as well.

We appreciate your honesty, your time, and your perspective. Your experience matters to us, and we sincerely hope we’ll have the chance to make it right for you in the future.

Very busy place, highly recommend to reserve a table well in advance. Warm and fresh food, tastes incredibly good. One star less for the delay and slow processing but its because of the huge demand they have. Overall an 4/5.

Food was not great. The poached egg was barely poached and it looked raw. I was going to let it be but my partner asked the server if I could get a soft boiled egg instead since it was too raw. The server said that they don’t do substitute for any of their dishes.

I feel like I understand but also I don’t because, again, the poached egg was basically raw, the egg whites didn’t even fully cook at the edges before they placed it onto my bowl. When I cut into it, that’s what it looked like in the picture (the brown is pork fat).

We also asked for hot water since it was very cold outside and they said they didn’t serve that. Only green tea or water without ice.

I saw on Jin Ramen’s Instagram that they launched a new New York-inspired ramen, so I decided to stop by and give it a try and I’m glad I did! It’s something totally different and exciting for a ramen shop. I really liked the creativity behind it definitely thinking outside the box.

The broth has a rich umami flavor, with grilled chicken and shiitake mushrooms that make it feel like you’re eating a taco in ramen form, thanks to the salsa verde broth. They also recommended pairing it with the Snow Angel Nigori Sake it has a cute bottle and went really well with the spiciness of the ramen.

Highly recommend if you’re looking to try something new and unique!

Had a really great time at Jin Ramen on the Upper West Side! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for catching up with a friend. The food? Absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful ramen with perfectly balanced broth and toppings. Every dish we tried was spot on. Whether you’re a ramen lover or just looking for a cozy spot with amazing food, this place is a must-visit. Definitely coming back!

Good ramen spot that can get pretty busy at times. I got their Tonkotsu Ramen and it had good chewy noodles and a hearty broth. The service was a little short-handed and were busy so got our Sake Flight midway through our meal unfortunately. Nonetheless, a good comfort ramen spot but service can be improved.

who doesn’t love a bowl of ramen as the weather starts to get colder? stopped by and ordered a spicy tonkotsu ramen ($20) and sake ikura don ($25) to share. the ramen was extremely flavorful and the noodles were bouncy and firm. the salmon and ikura in the don were quite fresh, but the rice was unfortunately way too soggy (not quite sure what happened there). i guess it would make sense that you should be having ramen at a place with ramen in its name. service was quick and friendly and loved the wine on display. will definitely visit again soon!

Very accommodating for a baby (10 month old). I highly recommend chair was readily available. The food was a bit Salty, but you can request no salt in meal. Staff moved with urgency and food came out rather quickly for a busy Tuesday Night. Would return. Pork buns were excellent and my son loved the edamame the I thoroughly peeled for him.
