I came here with my family to celebrate my graduation and it was such a wonderful experience! We were a party of four on a Thursday afternoon and were greeted by warm, friendly hosts right away.

They offer a prix-fixe menu — appetizer + dessert or appetizer + entrée — for around $35, which is a great deal. We ordered burgers, calamari, a power bowl with chicken, and a beet salad. Everything was fresh and delicious!

The staff was incredibly attentive and noticed we were celebrating. They surprised me with a complimentary chocolate cake — such a sweet touch that made the day even more special. The restaurant is also really cute and great for photos!

Highly recommend for a special occasion, date night, or a fun outing with friends. We will definitely be back!

Response from the owner

Thank you for celebrating your special day with us! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the prix-fixe menu and our attentive staff made your experience memorable. We look forward to welcoming you back for more special occasions and fun outings. Cheers to more delightful meals ahead!

Super relaxed, warm welcome, with incredible service, pancakes and french toast. Visiting from the UK, but if ever back in NYC, this will 100% be a stop

Food was yummy! The pancakes wasn’t show stopping, but the quiche was scrumptious. The breakfast bowl had yummy avocados, but otherwise tasted very healthy. Place was relatively empty, but we came for breakfast so makes sense.

Response from the owner

Thank you for the feedback Selina! We're glad you enjoyed the quiche and yummy avocados in the breakfast bowl. We'll work on making the pancakes more showstopping. We appreciate your visit and hope to see you again for an improved experience at Sarabeth's!

Sarabeth’s never disappoints. Everything they serve is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is always on point. It’s definitely a must-visit every time you’re in New York. Also, don’t forget to order the pancakes !!!

Very good brunch experience here. Highly recommend making reservations. The popovers were delicious and the goldie lox scramble good. My partner also enjoyed the turkey club sandwich, it was massive. Overall, prices were definitely on the pricey spot, but in-line with New York.

We enjoyed a beautiful brunch at Sarabeth‘s while on a short weekend trip to New York City. The reservation process was quick and simple, and we were greeted cordially when we arrived. The ambience, decor, and lighting were all warm and welcoming. The noise level within the restaurant was just right… Enough to be lively and convivial, but still quiet enough to enjoy conversation with our dining partners. The food was delicious and exquisitely presented, and the service was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The variety of menu options was wonderful as well. There were plenty of sweet and savory offerings, and the green salad that accompanied many of the main brunch dishes was a refreshing addition to the meal. It was the perfect way to begin our day of sightseeing. I would definitely return to Sarabeth’s, and would recommend It without hesitation to others.

Once upon a time, Sarabeth’s was the place to go — a New York brunch institution known for consistency, warmth, and food that justified both the wait and the price. It built its reputation on being dependable and polished, the kind of place you confidently recommended to out-of-town guests.

Unfortunately, that reputation no longer holds.

What Manhattan restaurant waits until after you’ve finished your meal to inform you that their credit card machine is down, they only accept cash, and they can’t provide a receipt? For a brand that once prided itself on professionalism, this was shocking.

The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was underwhelming. Eggs Benedict used to be a safe bet here — a dish Sarabeth’s helped popularize — but that’s no longer the case.

Our waiter, Issie, was okay, though it was surprising to be told that a 20% gratuity was automatically included, without any prior notice.

The ambiance feels dated in a way that reads neglected rather than nostalgic. The bathrooms, in particular, looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned since the early 2000s.

Sarabeth’s seems to be coasting on its name and past glory. For longtime customers, that’s the most disappointing part.

Sarabeth’s was packed and we didn’t have a reservation, but luckily there were seats at the bar and we were thrilled. The bar staff were so friendly and chatted with us while we tried our first-ever popovers. The food was fantastic. Our hotel recommended Sarabeth’s, and it’s easy to understand why.

This was a wonderful early dinner on a snowy holiday night we had wonderful service from the young lady at the bar ended up eating a full meal there with her and she paid attention to every detail of our cocktails and our order. Tbt steak frites was cooked perfectly and my salad she made sure to ask if I wanted everything in it or to exclude anything. She also took my to go order and times it perfectly to still be hot for my son when I got home and packed items separately to preserve the roll. I think she made the night the 5 stars! Would 100% go back! Great for combo of adults and kids especially kids that like steak frites and truffle fries!

Response from the owner

We came as walk-ins, & were greeted by a youthful hostess. We sat in the back banquette against the mirror (she was gracious enough to let us change tables). Izzy (server) was the perfect balance of great service and allowing us to talk. I was impressed by his mature professionalism, as seasoned waiters seem to be a dying breed in NYC. Excellent service, and upsold us cappuccinos we didnt even know we wanted. Lol

The salmon scramble and popper were delicious. However, the short rib tater tots need a little help. The short ribs seemed lost in the potato, and ended up like "mash" in my mouth. But still we ate them all. So it wasn't that bad :)

Serving city staples and refinement; Sara Beth's is an easy choice. 10/10. I'll always recommend!

Sarabeth’s on the Upper West Side is a true NYC staple—perfect for brunch or breakfast classics.

We sat outside and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with gouda, which was huge and packed with flavor. Served on ciabatta with arugula and jam, it hit every taste bud—the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The fries on the side were crispy and delicious. We also had the spinach and cheese omelette—super fluffy eggs, light and right.

Always a reliable go-to for a satisfying brunch.

Response from the owner

Delicious and super cute spot for brunch with friends or family. Service is super quick once you get your table; however, it does get a little crowded near the host stand, even if you have a reservation. Their popovers are a must have and their omelettes are super fresh. Would definitely come back again.

Response from the owner

Thank you for the lovely feedback Gabriella! We're glad you enjoyed our brunch offerings, especially our popovers and omelettes. We appreciate your comments about the host stand, and we'll work on improving the waiting experience. Can't wait to have you back again!

This is a great place to have brunch on the weekends and enjoy it with family or friends.
The dishes are well served and very tasty, the recipe for the riccota lemon pancakes is a bit different than the first time I tried them, maybe less moist, but still good flavor. About the place, it is a classic NY place, however, they could take better care of the bathrooms.

The attention and service of the waiter who served us stands out; very friendly and willing to answer questions and make recommendations (essential when you have children with you).

In general, a pleasant experience.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your kind review Ana! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed our brunch and the tasty dishes. Your feedback on the ricotta lemon pancakes is noted, and we'll ensure to review and improve the recipe. We appreciate your comments on our service and will work on enhancing the restroom experience. Hope to see you again soon!

Loved this place. Very cute, intimate, peaceful place with outstanding food! Michelle took great care of us. I especially enjoyed the lemon and herb braised chicken with fingerling potatotes from the Restaurant Week special menu. I hope that becomes a regular dish- so tender and the sauce was amazing! A new favorite place 😀
