I have been going here for over 10yr, but over time the food quality has gone down and the prices have gone up yet I STILL go from time to time as they usually have a good bake & shark. NEVER AGAIN! and I would not recommend anyone to go here. I stood on line for almost an hour watching these people make doubles ONE at a time. Someone would order 12 doubles, they literally would make 1 in their hand, wrap it and then do it all again, while the line continue to grow like a snake. I wish I recorded it, ive never seen anything so inefficient in my life. On top of that , the owner/ manager just standing there watching, like what they are doing makes sense. Then proceeded to be rude when I simply suggested (nicely might i addd) to make doubles in sets instead of one at a time in order to move the line faster (I actually worked this kind of resturant for over 5 years). It was the arrogance & disrespect from the manger for me. I left, went 2min drive to Trincity around the corner and got the same food in less than 15mins for less money despite the fact that they ALSO had a long line. Don't waste your time going here, the food is NOT AT ALLL WORTH THE WAIT.

If you really think this food is authentic trini food you need a good cuff. The food is bland at best. They don’t even give you any hot sauce in the side. Those of you forget when this place had flowers hiding the disgrace grade from the health department. Cook your own. This was a joke. Ordered the fried rice, jerk chicken, low mein, stew chicken and a doubles.

5 stars for food, 5 stars for Atmosphere, 5 stars for service (my personal reasons)<br>I recommend they have the best doubles in NYS, I spread the word ever so often BUT im disappointed today....everyone spends their hard earned money to get quality service from any establishment.<br>"Trini" short for Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 then we the "customers" should expect to get the cuisines, distinct traditional food like back home, using techniques, specific ingredients and original concoction<br>Example Macaroni Pie, the photo i attached it's just plain Mac N cheese with nothing else in it... it's nothing like a good Sunday macaroni pie like back home, The Dasheen Bush tastes like canned spinach or either the frozen spinach that Aapnar Bazar sells just like the Chataigne🤢 not everything is about money and cutting cost, be authentic please<br>Thank You!

My favorite doubles in NYC! Always get aloo pie too. I also got curry goat, buss up shot and roti skins. My trini friends recommend it and I usually get it delivered when I’m nearby but I went into the shop and I can’t wait to come back. Really love everything I got. Went with a Jamaican friend and they loved everything too. Worth the money, everything was fresh and hot. Definitely coming back soon. I even got to try bake and shark 🦈 Antiguan approved 🇦🇬 ✅

This was my second time at Trini delight on 4/18/26. First visit a few months ago was great. Service and food were good. Unfortunately my second visit was not good. The individual who served me has poor food safety practice and this is a NYC citable violation what she did. Under NYC Health Code Article 81 (§ 81.07): Gloves must be changed after any activity where they may be contaminated.<br>She was taking out my food just fine then, she answered the phone with the same gloves on. After she was done with the call she was going to take out the reminder of my food out without changing her gloves. I definitely asked her to change the gloves, which she did. She then went back to the phone and touched it with the back of her hands. I will not be returning! I did notice that another server did this as well so it looks like it’s a habit these women do. When dealing with people’s food. The serves should be more knowledgeable about the health risks of handling people’s food with dirty gloves. The person who served me had dark spots on her face and wore glasses. I did ask for the boss but the cashier said it was his birthday and he was not there but that she will tell him. I doubt she would tell him that’s why I am posting this review. Train your workers the proper way to server the public. Also about health safety violations.

Let down a bit. Waited years for the moment. Staff seems a lil sneaky. The bill I paid was like $21. Then 7minutes later my phone showed an additional $.94cents charged. But they didn’t mention an additional charge when I asked. The cashier she had an odd look on her face. I felt something was wrong. And the spinach rice was so mussy and tasteless, they charged an additional $5 for the macaroni salad that tasted sour. The lady kept asking me if I wanted macaroni and I said no. Mac & cheese over and over. The guy yelled at her for it. And she still put cold Mac salad in my hot food. Be careful they rush you to order whatever they want you to eat. A few bites my stomach started to hurt! Fed the rest to the birds @ Floyd Bennett airfield lot.

Going against the grain here. The good I had was gross. Curried goat and bust-up. The goat curry was a thick as disgusting mud, and tasted as though they keep throwing hot water in it to salvage old curry instead of throwing it out. No potatoes just some gross, old, tasteless goat in mud. The “bust-up” was a big, sloppy. Disgusting ball of dough. Good luck sleeping with that mess on your stomach and feeling well the next morning.

I'm sorry to publicized this review. I often purchase from here. Unfortunately today I bought 6 doubles, 1bake and shark, 2 roti and a curry duck. We relatives found hair in the 2 doubles and a roti. The mistake was that they didn't take pictures. Management kindly look into this matter. Thank you.

I had some doubles and banana solo. Both are excellent. I recommend to everyone. Just letting you all know, you can not dine in, it is take out only. I went in the next day and got some doubles, a saheena, and a banana solo

Came here specifically for doubles, and was not disappointed. These tasted amazing and were as close as you can get to the ones in trini. Channa was seasoned perfectly and cooked how it should be so there’s no hard chickpeas in the mix.<br><br>Only downside is everything is saturated in oil, the sahina, barra, everything. But… that might be what gives it the authentic taste, so don’t let that deter you from giving these a try. Would gladly go back for more.

I came in with high hopes and an empty belly, ready to dine on roti and doubles and maybe taste a little piece of home. But what I got? A hot, overpriced, disrespectful mess.<br><br>First off, $4 for chickpeas? $4 for pumpkin? $4 for spinach?! Bawl for your grandmother. I can understand paying for extras, but at this rate, you might as well charge me rent to eat in your establishment. And don’t try to act like the potato's a freebie—potato is standard with roti, not a garnish. Don't insult the culture.<br><br>Now let’s talk about the doubles—the holy grail of Trini street food. That barra (the skin) was paper thin, thinner than my last nerve. It should have bounce, chew, a little cushion. Instead, it disintegrated on contact like wet tissue, leaving a trail of channa and shame all over my hands. A mess. A true culinary collapse.<br><br>And here’s a question for the house: if these prices are because of tariffs or import fees, that’s a discussion to be had. But make no mistake—we keeping receipts. We will be circling back in four years, and if the tariff lifts but the prices stay sky high? Baby, we clockin’ it. Don’t play in Caribbean people face and expect we go hush. We’ll dougla stomp our way back in here with a clipboard and questions.<br><br>But what really boils my blood like dhal on high heat? It’s one thing if you’re running game on tourists who don’t know better. But you’re charging these prices and serving this quality to your own Caribbean people? You know full well we coming here for nostalgia, comfort, and real food. And this is how you serve us? For shame. Granny rolling in she grave.<br><br>If you're gonna call yourself “Delight,” at least try not to deliver disgrace.

Terrible service and unsanitary!!! I ordered 2 plain doubles, when i opened it they put toppings on it. As i continued to inspect the doubles, i saw 2 pieces of hair in the bara. I took it back, they tried to give me 2 doubles and claimed they dont do refunds. Besides messing up my order and a refund, why would i want to continue consuming food from an unsanitary establishment. Honestly expected better but i guess not …

One of the better roti shops in little Guyana. I’ve been here many times, and definitely will continue to visit. Their food is really good, they can be super busy at certain points in the day. Their customer service can improve a little bit but it’s not terrible at all. Metered parking is usually available in the surrounding areas.
