Another branch of a restaurant that is consistently excellent in both cuisine and service (very customer centric). Only issues here is the ambiance feels busy/crowded due to the smaller space - and the onion soup doesn't quite hit the highs as in other branches (hasn't been steeped long enough). The Capital Grille is an amazing and well-regarded fine dining steakhouse chain that’s known for offering exquisite lamb chops, chicken, salmon, steaks along with other well made dishes in a relaxed and upscale atmosphere.<br><br>Owned and operated by Darden Restaurant, it has multiple locations throughout the United States and has a few locations internationally.<br><br>In February of 2026, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at Capital Grille, specifically the branch based in the MetLife Building of Midtown East in Manhattan, New York. We visited the restaurant to celebrate our “Happy Eight Year Wedding Anniversary” and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our time there!!!<br><br>The staff were very friendly and welcoming and quickly provided us with a very large and comfortable dining table. We thank the members of the staff for stopping by our table to acknowledge our anniversary, for their warm wishes and for sprinkling our table with anniversary decorations!!!<br><br>Both my wife & I were in absolute awe of the beauty and elegance of Capital Grille’s interior design. We both loved the art deco style dim lighting, the gorgeous oil portraits, the mahogany stained ceiling and walls, and the magnificent ceiling lights. The interior settings along with the playing of light jazz certainly helped produce a very classy, cozy and refined dining experience.<br><br>Our server for the evening, Joshua N. was unquestionably a consummate professional!!! He was very kind, attentive, and was immensely knowledgeable regarding the menu options and specials for the day. Joshua also did a great job on addressing our menu inquiries, documenting our menu orders, and offered great suggestions on the meals that my wife would prefer for her dinner.<br><br>In addition, Joshua wished us a wonderful anniversary, provided us with a delicious complimentary dessert and adeptly scooped and shared our side dishes on our entree meal plate. We both thank Joshua for his superb professionalism and great hospitality. Capital Grille is indeed blessed to have him on their team.<br><br>Last but certainly not least, my wife and I absolutely loved our meals!!! My wife ordered and enjoyed her “Dry Aged Strip Steak” entree and I ordered and enjoyed my “Citrus Glazed Salmon” entree. We also found our soup appetizers and our side dishes which included the “sautéed spinach” and “mashed potatoes” to be highly flavorful and scrumptious!!! Without question, all of our meals at Capital Grille were impeccably cooked, perfectly seasoned, and flawlessly delicious!!!<br><br>We are deeply grateful for the wonderful dining experience provided by the staff at Capital Grille and truly appreciate their great service in celebrating our anniversary!!! It’s an experience that we’ll treasure forever and we highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at this outstanding steakhouse restaurant!!!

I also tried the lobster mac and cheese, which was rich and creamy. The service was prompt, though there were moments when it felt a bit rushed.<br><br>Atmosphere: The restaurant boasts an elegant and sophisticated ambiance, with comfortable seating and tasteful decor. BIG SHOUTOUT TO BENNETT AND MARCEL!!!<br><br>Let me start with how fantastic the food and cocktails are, well made, great portions and presentation.<br><br>The highlight of our night was the spectacular hospitality from our server Bennett as well as Marcel. Bennett was knowledgeable, able to answer any questions we had, made great recommendations. Extremely attentive, and on top of table maintenance.<br><br>Marcel wow, full of kindness and care he took the time to engage in authentic conversation with us.<br><br>You do not see such hospitality these days, thank you guys for such and amazing dining experience. Give the guys a RAISE!!! THEY ARE SO FUNNY AND CHARISMATIC

We shared a beautiful dinner here with a wonderful server and he even gave us a free dessert! We definitely will come again food was worth the price and so was the service. It felt fancy but in a casual way we wore our jeans n matching blue hoodie n felt right at home everything was fast and friendly.

Tucked into the Chrysler Center (steps from Grand Central) is a classic steakhouse without the attitude<br><br>Vibe is upscale and elegant.. dark woods, massive wine kiosk.. doesn’t feel stuffy<br><br>Perfect for power lunches or celebrations. Service is outstanding<br><br>Nearly everyone in our party said the steaks were the best beef they've ever had (dry-aged in-house 18-24 days, hand-cut, HUGE portions)<br><br>Food is spot-on consistent, vibes are spot-on relaxed luxury<br><br>Worth the price!

We absolutely love The Capital Grille in New York! The food is always exceptional, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and vibe are just wonderful — elegant yet warm, making it a great spot for both special occasions and family dinners.<br><br>We often go with our son and always have a fantastic time. The only thing that would make the experience even better is if they had a changing table for babies. It can be a bit difficult to change him there.<br><br>Other than that small issue, everything about our visits has been amazing. We’ll definitely keep coming back. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the city!

I Went To Capital Grille Restaurant Located At 200 Park Ave. For My Birthday Dinner, My Guest Couldn’t Make It At The Last Moment. My Server The Best Server Host In the Restaurant Industry. Massi He Asked Me Where’s Your Guest? I Told Him That She Couldn’t Make It. He Immediately Told Me Don’t Worry About It! I Got You Beautiful! It’s Your Day It Doesn’t Matter That Your Guest Isn’t Here! I’m Going To Take Care Of You! I Got You! Is Something That He Repeated To Me Throughout The Evening. I’ve Never Felt So Taken Care Of In A Restaurant Before! That Was All Due To Massi! He Brought Me Champagne As Soon As I Sat Down. He Was Very Attentive, Thoughtful, Caring And Professional. An absolutely exceptional dining experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, my girlfriend and I felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for. We were celebrating her birthday, and it was clear that the staff had been informed in advance — a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more special.<br>While the food easily earned a five-star rating, the service we received from Corey exceeded all expectations — truly deserving of ten stars. Corey was outstanding. He remained fully engaged throughout our meal, sharing thoughtful conversation and personal stories, and demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for what he does. He was, without a doubt, the highlight of our visit.<br><br>As for the food — if I have one complaint, it’s that the flavors were simply too good to resist. Each course was expertly crafted and left us eager to see how the next would possibly surpass the last.<br><br>Some reviews mention the pricing, but in our experience, the quality of both the cuisine and the service more than justifies the cost. This was the best meal we had during our stay in New York City. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was luxurious. I wish they had a couples meal or a shareable selection on the menu. I’ve been to a few of their locations and I’m always impressed.

The crab meat is moist and sweet and calamari have a nice little punch to them from the hot peppers included as part of the dish.

My husband and I make it a tradition to visit this restaurant every year, and this time was extra special—our first visit as a married couple. As always, the experience was amazing, and a big part of that was thanks to our wonderful waitress, Britney. She was warm, welcoming, and made everything feel so comfortable from the moment we sat down. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor really elevated the night.<br><br>The food never disappoints. The crab cake is hands-down our favorite—perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. We also can’t get enough of the creamed spinach and the lobster mac and cheese; they’re rich, flavorful, and always hit the spot.<br><br>This restaurant continues to be one of our most cherished spots, and we already can’t wait to come back next year. Hopefully, we’ll get lucky and have Britney again!

What can I say? I love Cap Grille!!! This is one of their newer locations and very conveniently located right by Grand Central. With both indoor and outdoor dining, a nice large bar and private dining you have all your options covered. The food is fabulous and the service is on point. 5 stars!!

I recently dined here with a group of ladies and we had a private room. My favorite foods were the calamari (which I must say I have without any sauce for the first time and it was delicious! First restaurant I’ve ever gone to that serves it with peppers only- soo good), mashed potatoes, and Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella. The Dry Aged Bone-In Strip tasted better when I heated it on my stove in some chicken broth lol. The waiters were amazing! Would possibly visit again to try the other dishes!
