My family and I had a great time at Peaches on Tompkins! The food was absolutely delicious, and our server, May, truly made the experience worthwhile. Her personality and service were amazing from beginning to end. Our food came out on time, and she provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and if you go, be sure to ask for May!

As soon as my friend and I walked in, 2 people greeted us and made us feel so welcome. May, though, went above and beyond! She checked in, she made sure we received everything we wanted. She is the absolute hostess! This is my first time at Peaches but definitely not my last! The food was scrumptious but this amazing hostess is expecting us back! Thank you May! Your attitude and kindness are very appreciated

This is a review of Peaches Hot House take out. I ordered through Grubhub and the order was ready promptly. I am in the neighborhood so the food was still warm when eaten. Obviously the presentation of takeout isn’t going to be as pretty as dining in so I will not critique that. The flavors were definitely present and pleasant. I had the fried chicken sandwich and had crispy grits as a side.

The fried chicken was juicy with a crispy, hearty breading. This is not some “lightly fried” chicken and thank goodness because that’s how I like it. The standard chicken is seasoned well but I wanted it spicy so I paid a dollar extra for “very spicy.” I’m assuming the spice is provided by the salsa situation served on the side. In all honesty, it’s not that spicy so having a warning when ordering that it’s VERY SPICY is a bit dramatic. I wish it was spicer. Also the salsa/sauce is very runny and doesn’t feel like it makes sense with the sandwich. It looks and tastes like something that would be wicked good on some tacos but for a chicken sandwich is was a bit of a mismatch. Thankfully the sandwich is served with a spicy mayo that worked great with the meal and cole slaw that was ACTUALLY GOOD. The slaw was light and crisp with the perfect amount of tangy dressing. Unfortunately the bun was stale so that knocked my opinion down a bit.

The crispy grits I ordered as a side (a dollar extra) were great. I am not familiar with this variation of grits but I definitely would order them again. They are like hush puppies but soft and cheesy on the inside with a crisp exterior. Really great stuff.

If the meal was perfect I probably wouldn’t feel this way but with the stale bun and mismatched sauce I do think the price is steep. If I am paying $20 for a chicken sandwich meal, it should be a restaurants best work. If the meal can not be made consistently fresh and hot then it feels negative to pay premium prices for it.

I know the hothouse location is designed for more quick, simple meals compared to the other Peaches locations so I will be trying the other locations out and hopefully have a 5 star experience there.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your Grubhub order from our Tompkins Ave location! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich - we take pride in our juicy chicken with that hearty, crispy breading you loved. It's wonderful that you appreciated the spicy mayo and found our cole slaw to be actually good with its light, crisp texture and tangy dressing!

We're also delighted that you enjoyed the crispy grits as a side - they really are special with that soft, cheesy interior and crisp exterior. We're glad we could introduce you to this variation!

We genuinely appreciate your honest feedback about the spice level and sauce pairing. Your point about the "very spicy" designation is well taken, and we'll share this with our kitchen team to ensure our spice levels meet expectations and our standards are followed by every team member. We're also sorry to hear about the stale bun - this definitely doesn't meet our standards, and we'll address this with our team to ensure freshness consistency, the rotation of product is of the upmost importance and getting bread delivered 6 days a week is part of our standards to keep freshness paramount

We understand your concerns about value, especially when paying premium prices, and we want every meal to represent our best work. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to improve, and we'd love to welcome you at our other Peaches locations- Peaches Lewis, Peaches Prime and Peaches Grand- for what we hope will be 5 Star Worthy!!

I am giving grace as I presume they were busy due to the Juneteenth holiday/celebrations in the area. It was VERY packed—reminded me of a pack sardines. They had the a/c going but with the constant opening of the door and the amount of people inside the story didn’t really matter. We waited about 30-minutes after placing our name on the list. Wish they did reservations or a pay system; but I understand with the size of the place most people might not even bother. The food was mid lowkey just okay. I’ve heard lot of great things about Peaches in the NYC circuit as it pertains to food but as a table of 4 and everyone consensus being “it’s okay” don’t know if we’ll try again. For a soul food place I would say I expected better. However, I know Southern soul food and the east coast version of soul food don’t always translate. It’s like the transplants that not live in New York majority of the time it won’t work! I have one good note: the kale salad was delicious! It was fresh, had the best amounts of grated cheese and dressing just need more kale in my opinion since the salad name is named kale salad.

Response from the owner

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience during the Juneteenth celebrations! We truly appreciate your patience during what was indeed an exceptionally busy time for us. You're absolutely right that the crowd reminded us all why we're grateful for our loyal customers, even when it means longer waits.

We're delighted to hear you enjoyed our kale salad - it's wonderful that the fresh ingredients, grated cheese, and dressing hit the mark for you! We'll definitely take your feedback about adding more kale to heart, as we're always looking to perfect our dishes.

We understand that soul food can be very personal, with different regional styles and family traditions shaping expectations. While we're sorry our other dishes didn't fully meet your hopes this visit, we'd love the opportunity to welcome you back when we're less packed. The atmosphere and our ability to provide our usual level of service is quite different during our typical service times. Reach out to us directly at THESMOKEGUYS@GMAIL.COM and we can set it up, at ANY of our Locations- Peaches Prime, Peaches Lewis or Peaches Grand too

Thank you for giving us grace during such a busy celebration, and we hope you'll consider giving Peaches HotHouse another try when we can show you our food and service under better circumstances.

We are entering into a relationship with OPEN TABLE for reservations or waitlists at our locations, we believe this will help us mitigate waits or at least make them manageable for our teams and our guests

My recent visit to the restaurant was a mixed experience. While some dishes were enjoyable, others fell short of expectations, especially for a place that appears to specialize in soul food.

The fried chicken and cornbread stood out as the highlights of the meal—flavorful and well-prepared. The mac and cheese, however, was just average, lacking the rich, creamy depth that makes it memorable. The collard greens were particularly disappointing; they lacked seasoning and soul, and we ultimately left them uneaten. On a more positive note, the 1/2 & 1/2 tea (half sweet tea, half lemonade) was delicious and refreshing.

Service was standard but could have been more attentive. No one came by to check in on our table during the meal, which would have enhanced the overall experience.

Finding the restaurant initially proved difficult, as there was no visible signage outside—just red umbrellas with "Bacardi" printed on them, which offered no clear indication of the restaurant's identity.

Additionally, we noticed ants crawling on the table near the window, which raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance.

Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects to the meal, the restaurant has room for improvement in both its food offerings and customer service.

Response from the owner

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent visit to Peaches HotHouse. We appreciate you highlighting what worked well, including our fried chicken and cornbread, as well as our signature 1/2 & 1/2 tea.

We take your concerns about our mac and cheese and collard greens seriously. These are cornerstone dishes for us, and we want every guest to experience the rich, soulful flavors we're known for. We'll be reviewing our preparation methods and seasoning to ensure consistency across all our dishes.

Your feedback about service attention during your meal is valuable, and we'll address this with our team to ensure guests receive proper check-ins throughout their dining experience.

Regarding the signage visibility, we understand how this can create confusion for guests trying to locate us, and we're looking into ways to improve our exterior identification and if you visit us again you may see that immense difference

We're also concerned about the cleanliness issue you mentioned and will have our maintenance team thoroughly inspect and address the dining area, particularly around the window seating.

We'd welcome the opportunity to provide you with a better experience that truly represents what Peaches HotHouse is about. Please reach out to us directly so we can make this right. Send an Email to THESMOKEGUYS@GMAIL.com and we can make that happen at your convenience

Peaches Hothouse is an absolutely fantastic southern comfort food restaurant located in Brooklyn.

Even on a scorchingly hot summer day, my order of spicy fried chicken was delicious and filling. The staff were all very pleasant and professional regardless of how busy it got, and my meal was brought out in record time—still piping hot and slightly greasy from the frier, so it was perfect.

If you’re in the area, be sure not to miss out on the incredible menu items here, and definitely check out the sides! It’s also incredibly well priced and worth every penny.

After all these years I finally been to the infamous Peaches. This place is SMALL!! I had no idea. We was called after about a 30 minute wait and enjoyed our sandwiches, catfish, fried chicken and kale caesar salad, and which was my favorite. I heard their cocktails are great! This visit I had an ipa.

Quite good southern food within the Peaches Restaurant empire in Brooklyn. It’s a fast casual spot, along with brunch, and also it seems like it’s great for the summer and spring months as well.

The Chicken was juicy, flavorful, and fried nicely. Hot was hot. Spicier than let’s say an El Yucateco. Cornbread was moist and fresh. The fries were a bit sad.

The collard greens were absolutely delicious. Easily the best part of southern food and it’s been a while since I’ve had. $7, costly, but worth it. Same with the Mac, which was more like Cheese and Mac rather than Mac and Cheese. Still delicious and gluttonous.

I’ll be back to try some sandwiches in the sunny months.

This meal REALLY hit the spot. We got the fried green tomatoes which were perfectly breaded with delicious toppings. I got the “best chicken sandwich” and it was truly fantastic. Everything was so fresh. My only complaint about this place is that it smelled really strongly of cleaning solution.

Happy we stopped here at Peaches Hothouse. We started with Drinks and an appetizer the Brownstone punch , which was (amazing)and Loaded Baked Grits which was also amazing. For food my wife and I ordered a Burger and Chicken extra hot , food came out fast and everything was delicious. If you in BedStuy and looking for a awesome spot this is one of the spots you are gonna want to visit. We're definitely coming back. Look to add some more items to the menu. We're definitely returning
