Had an amazing experience at Masala Time! Every dish we tried was packed with authentic flavor. The Chicken Keema Pav was perfectly spiced and so satisfying, while the Vada Pav was crisp, flavorful, and just like the street food you dream of. The Lamb Curry was rich, tender, and full of depth — absolutely delicious!

The staff was friendly, and the vibe was warm and welcoming. If you’re craving authentic desi flavors in New York, this place is a must-visit! 🍛🔥

Small, not crowded. I got the pav bhaji, mango lassi, and chai. All really good, noticed the pav was extremely fluffy and bhaji was amazing. Lassi was expensive and a little too sweet imo, but still good.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Raghavan! Glad you enjoyed the pav bhaji and that the pav stood out. We put a lot of care into getting that texture right. Happy to hear the chai and lassi were good too.

We appreciate the note about the sweetness of the lassi. Feedback like that helps us keep improving. Hope to see you back again soon for another lunch.

The employees were super sweet here! I ordered a chicken tikka platter and my friend ordered a chicken paneer bowl with lentils I believe. Both were well done, I finished my whole plate. As a fellow
South Asian, the soundtrack they have is all bangers. Loved the vibes and food it was well rounded :)

Appreciate the 5 stars and hope to see you back again soon.

Simply excellent!
I got the Pav Bhaji (extra Pav of course!) and Aam Panna.

It’s medium spicy to taste with perfect balance of spices! I would ask for extra butter next time and also the bread to be a little less toasted. I like it a little softer.

Ralin was amazing! Great customer service and the ambiance was warm! Great date night spot!!

Response from the owner

Thank you, Harsh! So glad you loved the Pav Bhaji and the Aam Panna. Extra pav is always the right move 😊 Appreciate the thoughtful notes on spice, butter, and the bread. An excellent place to gorge on South Asian street food while in the Village chasing down Winter Jazz Fest sites!
Tasty and authentic crunchy papadi chat - with tasty Chaat - order our or dine in. Next to the LPR club.

My family and I tried their Biryani that was very delicious. The spice level was perfect for us but definitely on the spicy side for most Americans.

The restaurant staff were friendly and the service was fast.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Tariq. Really glad you and your family enjoyed the biryani. That spice level is definitely on the bolder side, so it’s great to hear it worked for you. Happy to know the service was friendly and quick too. Hope to see you all again soon.

A great place for some great food. Open late which is always a plus. Food is fresh. Love the box it comes with. Got the samosa chaat and saag Chana. Both were great. Got roti and rice with pickled onions. Also came with daal but not sure why I didn’t like this daal. Seemed watered down but it came with it so I wasn’t bothered. Definitely the saag Chana was a hit. Will be coming back.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Alisha! We’re so glad you enjoyed the Samosa Chaat and Saag Chana — love hearing that it hit the spot. The box setup is our little way of serving flavor with function 😊 Appreciate the honest note about the daal too. We’re always tweaking and dialing things in, so feedback like that helps. Looking forward to having you back for another late-night bite.

Omg I loved this place. So cute and trendy and clean inside. The sweetest staff ever. So patient explaining everything they have. We got thumbs up soda which is an indian coke and the best mango lassi in nyc. Thick and sweet n tasty. I will say all the sauces were fantastic. The vada paav sandwich came with 2. The bread toasted and vegetarian potato patties were outstanding. Get the sauces and pour it on. Epic food. The spicy paneer bhurji roll outstanding. Tasty with the fresh green sauce. The Kathi bread phenomenal. Every is made to order and quality. Every ingredient and texture is tasted. The shrimp tikka masala box 10 out of 10. I ordered with the bread roll, rice and onions. Huge portions here. The shrimp fresh and sauce was buttery n sweet. The chicken seekh kebab was outrageous in every good way. Huge, fresh and flavorful. I saw them making it in the back. That came with a light green sauce rice and bread too. Yummy. So much heart and quality in every bite. Will definitely be ordering to go and or deliver but I’d come in again. They are open late. Ten out of ten! Not greasy or salty. Just perfect.

Response from the owner

Wow, Anna. Your review just made our whole team’s day 😊 Thank you for calling out so many details. We’re thrilled you loved everything from the Vada Pav and Paneer Bhurji Roll to the Shrimp Tikka Masala and Chicken Seekh Kebab. And yes, those sauces definitely know how to show up.

It means a lot that you felt the quality and heart in every bite. We’ll be ready with more epic food whenever you’re craving it, whether you’re dining in or grabbing it to go. See you soon

#bestindianfoodnyc

Been wanting to try some quick bites here for a while now. Finally had the chance! Easy self serve kiosk to order your food. Got the vada pav and tandoori mushroom roll. Amazing spice mix in the roll, felt like I was back in Mumbai! The vada pav was just like any other Indian takeout. They also gave us soda on the house for making us wait longer than usual! I’d say spice levels are mediocre (even “spicy”), for someone with a decent heat tolerance. Price point is great for the quality and quantity. Def recommend the roll and I’ll be back to try the paneer/dal combo.

Response from the owner

Appreciate you stopping by, Sharanya! Glad you finally got to try us and that the tandoori mushroom roll hit the mark. Sorry again for the wait, but happy we could make it a little better. Hope the next visit with the paneer and dal combo lives up to the hype!

An impeccable experience from start to finish! Ever since moving to New York, myself and my husband needed to find a Desi place that hit the spot! This was in! From the starters to mains to the sweet dessert and the mango lassi…WOW! The taste, the spices…unbelievable! The food is so full of flavour and so wholesome, it truly was a journey throughout the meal and we were absolutely blown away! The service was incredible and the place is so lovely with great music and it truly feels like you’re in a different world. This is a very special place and somewhere we will be visiting a lot!
