This place is completely Racist. They ignore people of color and only target the Spanish. Mind you I'm a Afro latina and this is disgusting I will never return. Plus the food can be better. There was one women server who is great and one male server. Everyone else is a colorist. There is also no structure. Never will we return or refer anyone.

I love eating here by myself & when my family & friends are in town I bring them here. Everything taste soooo 😋 Good
The food is always delicious. I ordered take out and my server was kind, attentive, patient and extremely helpful. I don't know her name but she had on a ( black?) shirt with a cherry🍒 on it. The prices are good and the portions are generous compared to other places I've been.
Mambi is kind of an "old friend" of Washington Heights. The workers are always nice and attentive, and they can speak with you in both, english and/or spanish (or who knows which other ones). The place is always clean and the food is really good (great variety including some traditionals like oxtail, etc - before I forget, it is not that pricey also) - I normally have it to take out, but the place is nice to dine in -
⚠️ WARNING TO CUSTOMERS ⚠️
I ate here on August 5th, 2025 between 11PM–1AM and paid with my card. The staff took my card behind the counter and kept it for about 5 minutes. Within the following week, over $1,000 in fraudulent charges showed up on my account.

This was the ONLY place I used my card. I was served by a younger female and an older female—it could have been either of them. To the manager: check your staff. You should be ashamed that this is happening under your roof.

To future customers: BEWARE. Do not hand them your card. What happened to me could easily happen to you.

The food was whatevers. Not worth the fraud.
I can't even say how long I've been coming here...at least fifteen years and the food remains fabulous. Everything I've ever eaten from here has been scrumptious. The dishes are authentic, plentiful and cooked to perfection. I regularly traveled from NJ to NY just to get their food. Try them and you'll be a fan for life.
The price of the food was reasonable. The service was good.
Update.... Sadly I will never eat here again.. Two nights ago I was served dinner and wasn't even given a glass of water!!! 20 minutes had passed and I got up. Left the food and demanded a cheque...The food is always good really good.. but. There's something Lost in translation. With a Dominican speaking food server who doesn't understand in America you are just that a waitress to be tipped based upon your attention and your service. somehow waitresses have the feeling that they are in their kitchen in Santo Domingo and can choose to service who they want and still expect to tip I find I'm constantly ignored waiting for someone to give me a bill The waitress is not looking at your progress as you're eating¡!! they're not paying attention to your needs during the process!!!. This is a classic failure for an American waitress or really in any country.. who is not looking at the person that you're serving to see what else they need and to see if they can finish the meal with an additional sale... it's not the way we do business in America... I think they need to teach them that that you're not in your country You're in America and you're serving sometimes American people.. usually were not used to such a thing. I think there's no malice involved it's just a learning curve on who your actual customer is and what they require and the food is still a great place I eat there on a daily basis because my car is parked across the street in the garage and I will continue to eat there.
Cool little spot to hang out and listen to music while enjoying some good food. The bathroom needs to be cleaned though. I skipped using it.
Awesome late night, fresh and authentic Dominican fare. Full bar. I had fried bass with vegetable and bean rice. My friend said his Cubano sandwich was fantastic. Maduros we're also great.
Food just how my mom would make it. A musical bar vibe like my uncle would make it. Overall an excellent experience just what I was looking for visiting NYC. Service wasn’t the fastest but great nonetheless. Fresh hot food and mangu 24 hours! I mean come on…
As someone trying out DR food for the first time I enjoyed the breakfast menu where it had fried cheese and salami and the onions. It was really good and their chinchirros was also really good. Their other "snack" menu like the fried meat croquette like items can't be said the same either it was a bit dry when I got there or maybe it's just me not enjoying it due to different taste buds. I would rate it around 3.5 to 3.8 if I'm being honest. I went there on new years and they were still opened and they did their best to provide their service during a busy time.
Great Dominican food! Had the pernil which was nice and juicy! Their bisteak sandwich was good but definitely recommend the pernil. Friendly staff with the typical Dominican restaurant ambiance (loud music in the back, small space and a lot of people). Very reasonably priced- would definitely recommend
This is my favorite place upon entering NYC from the George Washington Bridge. It's on 178th I forget the name of the street but it's one st down from Ft Washington. The Bistec is one of my all time favorites!!! Service is great, food is crazy good and if you happen to be in the area GO EAT THERE! Parking is on the street wherever you can find it. Bathrooms are clean and I should have grabbed a coffee but didn't this time. I highly recommend this place!!
The food in this place is more than AMAZING. I have never had such a good. Every time my husband and I go here we get it. I really wanted to give Mambi a 5 star rating, however, the service really sucks. It is a very busy place and the waitresses don’t acknowledge you and leave you waiting for a long time. Usually, they give customers toasted garlic bread but they tend to forget it and you have to ask for it.
