Incredible food, so much care and thought has gone into what is on the plate. The atmosphere is calming, complimentary tea is given and the service is wonderful, the owner/staff clearly care very much about their business and its ethos. The best place I’ve eaten in NYC.
Delicious food, coming from a non-vegan! The staff are super friendly, the food is reasonably priced for a weeknight dinner, and the atmosphere is peaceful and calm. Food comes out super fast. A wonderful addition to Yorkville!
Awesome tasty food, highly recommend! Very welcoming and kind. The space is beautiful and peaceful. Love the food but also love the juices and smoothies. Key lime pie is great too!!
Had a lovely lunch at Himalayan Vegan and Organic. The staff is warm, welcoming, attentive, and eager to answer any questions. The food is delicious, clean, simple, and comforting. It was a good mix of salads and hearty legumes and seasonal roast vegetables. I particularly enjoyed the pinto beans, cauliflower, and the homemade dressing on the green salad! The menu changes twice daily, but the food is consistently good. The meal also came with a large soup. There is a self-serve tea station. Honestly, a great value for organic food on the Upper East Side! Looking forward to returning again soon!
I had dinner here on their opening night and haven’t stopped thinking about how amazingly fresh, clean and tasty the food was. My friend and I were hungry and each got the full plate so got to try everything. It was more than enough but so good we didn’t leave any leftovers. And the dessert was fantastic too. All vegan, all gluten free, I loved it. And must mention how kind and welcoming staff was. Highly recommend
A wonderful addition to Yorkville, this organic place delivers ( pun intended) across the board!
From the welcoming decor, to the friendly, easygoing and personable service, to the amazing food - it’s become an instant favorite.
I got to know the owners because I work next door, and their commitment to serving love and health on each plate is worthy of respect.
These meals are easy to digest, easy on the eyes, nutritionally balanced, absolutely delicious, and you don’t need to be vegan to enjoy them.
They also serve desserts, kombucha and healthy blends.
I highly recommend Himalaya!
We loved our dinner at Himalaya! This is now my favorite restaurant in NYC. The flavors were amazing and everything was cooked perfectly. We plan to become regulars 🙂
Such nice staff and a very clean atmosphere. The food options are hearty and healthy and they even have desserts including chocolate and key lime pies. A great place to go for juices and smoothies!
I had a delicious lunch today at this lovely new neighborhood restaurant. The menu changes daily and today I had a navy bean vegetable soup, followed by a plate of brown rice, french lentils with onion and ginger, baked red and green cabbage with zucchini, kabocha and ginger, collard and kale with leek shiitake mushroom sauce, and a mixed salad with basil, lemon and agave dressing.
The place is calming, clean, and friendly.
I will definitely be back.
I got the dinner menu tonight. Every single thing for dinner tonight was amazing! The staff is very friendly. They answer all of your questions and are super helpful! 10/10 recommend!!
Fantastic, fresh, delicious. So close to home, a variety of tasty vegetables with beautiful flavors. Just perfect. It's quiet in here now but this place is an absolute gem on the upper east side and it'll get busy! Free green tea and fresh cold water as you wait. We both love Himalaya so much!
Great food in a laidback, casual atmosphere featuring Tibetan-influenced vegan cuisine. The restaurant doesn't have a set menu, which is unusual for western restaurants, but has a daily, ever-changing pre-fixe menu featuring about six dishes of what looked freshest at the market that day, not unlike what an omakase sushi restaurant does, but with vegetables, instead of fish.

The day we went, dinner was kale and collards, split yellow peas, mung bean soup, salad, beets and rutabagas. It was reasonably priced, under $25 for the large plate, and really good.

The staff are super nice and the service was quick.
My husband isn’t vegan, I am. We both throughly enjoyed our meals and both said we want to go back! It’s nice to have healthy options for days you don’t want to cook.
This is not just the best vegan food in the upper east side, it’s the best vegan food in New York City. As a “health food vegan,” all I want is a restaurant serving high-quality ingredients that are well-seasoned without being fried in oil or loaded with salt. Sounds simple, but this is next to impossible to find even at supposedly healthy restaurants. They have a cool origin story with a Tibetan founder who became a monk and cooked macrobiotic food at a Buddhist monastery in India before working at a 5-star European hotel. The first and only other location of Himalaya Vegan is in Sacramento, California, and we were over the moon when they announced the opening of their second restaurant in New York. We visited on their opening day, and the food lived up to our high expectations. The menu is simple, offering a rotating selection of legumes, warm vegetables, whole grains, soup, and salad that are truly made with love. You get a medium or large plate that comes with a portion of each item for $21.75 or $23.75. They also have homemade smoothies, juices, and pie, as well as a fridge full of different kombuchas. We loved every bite, especially the mung bean curry, and can’t wait to see what their rotating menu offers every day. You don’t have to be vegan to love their food. It’s delicious and perfect for anyone who wants to have a great meal and feel satisfied and amazing afterward.
