I've only been here for brunch so can only speak on that but have mostly had odd experiences coming here. The last time I visited, a strong incense smell left us leaving with headaches, despite asking if they could be put out in the kitchen. Not an odd experience but we ordered French toast a few times that was supposed to come with strawberries and they always seemed to be out. It seems to be very hit or miss in the mornings.

Response from the owner

Hailey , thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry about the incense. I will discuss that sometimes the staff like to like those and I’m not sure why you’re having inconsistencies on your French toast. We hope to see you again on another brunch or a dinner and we hope you have a pleasant experience.

Forest Hills Station House turned out to be the perfect late-night food spot while we were in the area. After a long day, it was exactly the kind of place you hope to find—great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service. We ended up enjoying it so much that we came back two nights in a row, which really says everything about the experience.
One of the standout dishes was the 6oz steak and fries. It was a great late-night option—simple but flavorful. The soy marinade gave the steak a rich, savory flavor that paired perfectly with the crispy fries. It was satisfying without feeling too heavy.
We also tried several other menu items and everything was consistently delicious. The taco-style quesadillas were packed with flavor and perfectly grilled, and the full wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. But what really stood out was the house-made ranch—it was so good I honestly could have drank it. It was creamy, fresh, and the perfect dip for the wings and fries.
The servers were incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Great service paired with great food made this an easy choice to return.
If you’re looking for a reliable and delicious late-night bite in Forest Hills, this place absolutely delivers.

Response from the owner

I stopped by Forest Hills Station House with my dog, Ozzie, and really appreciated the atmosphere. They have a great enclosed, heated patio area that isn't quite "indoors" but keeps you perfectly comfortable, making it an excellent spot if you’re dining with a furry companion.

I was very impressed with their non-alcoholic selection. I tried the Safety Glasses IPA (.5% ABV), and it is honestly one of the better non-alcoholic beers I’ve had—it actually maintains that crisp IPA character.

As for the food, I had the Margherita Flatbread. To be honest, it wasn't as fresh-tasting as I would have liked and didn't quite hit that "top-tier" mark for me. However, the staff was incredibly kind, and the fact that Ozzie was so welcomed (he even managed to sneak a piece of my flatbread!) made the experience very interesting. He is not supposed to have garlic! It’s a great neighborhood spot for a drink and some company.

Response from the owner

Glenn, thank you for the wonderful review we are so happy you enjoyed the atmosphere. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your flatbread as well but we do greatly appreciate the feedback.

Great service and vibe, although a bit too loud. Their house pilsner was refreshing. Fish and chips weren't crispy enough; 30 to 60 more seconds in the fryer would've improved their texture.

Response from the owner

Alexander, Thanks for the great feedback! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the service, the vibe, and our house pilsner. We appreciate you letting us know about the fish and chips and the music volume; we'll definitely take that into consideration as we always aim to improve. We hope to see you again soon!
We made a quick stop after work in Forest Hills Station House and it was a very good choice, food was great, I had a cheddar burguer and it was packed with flavor, the pattie was cooked perfectly, my wife had what she called "best nachos I've had in years", protein choices were very well seasoned and full of flavor plus all the components were all in sync. Also the Margarita was very good.

Drew, our server, did an excellent job and had great customer service, friendly and funny.

Response from the owner

Edgard, thank you very much for the excellent 5 star review.
Cheers!

Went here with a friend after seeing a show in Forest Park. This is a tough one to review. The food was excellent. I got a Salmon sandwich, my friend got a Turkey BLT, and we split Cajun seasoned fries. I’m usually not a huge fan of like elevated bar food but it was all really great—the only thing keeping it from a 5/5 was that the bacon on the salmon sandwich was a bit overkill.

The service, however, was a nightmare. There were a bunch of servers standing at the entrance to the bar. We were seated outside by one of them (a guy) who took our order along with the table beside us —they got nachos. Then someone else (a woman) came out to take our order again—we told her we had already ordered. Then the people beside us got their nachos—after about five minutes. It took 20 more minutes or so for our food to come and in the meantime no communication from the waitress. She did not come outside a single time. Our food came, carried by a third person (maybe expediter). Still never saw the waitress for water refills or anything. I finally had to go inside and find her so we could get the check. As we were getting ready to leave, I went to use the bathroom and a fourth person (another server?) was blocking the main entrance and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was using the bathroom. I should add that though it was Saturday at 7pm the bar was NOT crowded. Maybe three tables outside and one or two inside were occupied (it was maybe 1/3 full).

Since I have walked by this place in the past on concert nights and seen it bumping, my guess is that the staff doesn’t know what to do in terms of roles and workflow when it isn’t a busy night.

Response from the owner

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for your feedback! We truly appreciate it. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the food. Regarding the service, we do have a lot of employees on concert nights, and if you visited around 7 PM, it’s a transitional period when many guests are leaving. This can sometimes lead to an overstaffed situation, especially following a busy rush.

I apologize if the service felt lacking; it’s possible that some staff members were unsure of their roles during this hectic time, particularly since we often have new team members during concert season. Your insights are invaluable, and we’ll use them to improve our service.

Thank you

Lovely venue. Steep steps to upper level. Be careful when going down in the dark. Restroom gets real busy at the end of concert.

Visited for the first time for lunch on whim and it was a fine. Nothing exceptional or particularly special; the food was ok; the ambiance was ok; I will say that the service was good. We ordered the blackened salmon club and the “decadent” burger. Salmon was kind of fishy…not the freshest, but not bad…and the burger was good…the demi-glace they serve with the butger makes it much better. While it didn’t leave me wanting more I’m willing to give this place another try. We’ll see.

Response from the owner

Thank you for the feedback Jose , hope to see you again soon

Went there for the first time so trusted the server’s recommendations and was BLOWN AWAY by my steak and fries dish. The steak is tender and perfectly medium rare and the fries are super crunchy and stay crunchy even after they have cooked. I’m the most picky about fries and felt validated in finally finding a place that does it right. My partner got the ribs and the meat was just falling off the bone. Can’t wait to come back and try other stuff!!

Response from the owner

Great review , thank you , we are so happy you had an awesome experience.

Very convenient location to enjoy a light brunch.
It’s my first time checking this place out.
Had the Steak & Eggs along with Chimmichurri Brunch Burger.
The steak was a bit disappointing. It was little salty. The burger and fries on the other hand were good.
The service was good.
I would expect average food with good location here.

Response from the owner

Thank you David.
