Had a great experience at Dagg Thai. The food was flavorful and well presented, with a nice balance of traditional Thai flavors and a more modern approach. Everything we tried was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. My personal favorite is the dagg haeng noodle and the scallop bites. Highly recommended!

The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff took the time to offer recommendations and answer questions. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for either a casual meal or a special occasion. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

Response from the owner

We love this place so much, we flew in from Texas and ate it twice in 3 days! 😂
Everything on the menu was amazing but definitely get the crispy papaya salad and tom yum goong.
Literally, it was the best meal we had, period. And we had MANY Thai foods before.
I loved it so much, I had to get a shirt to rep it in TX. Thank you Dagg Thai for being the highlight of everyone’s NYC trip!

Response from the owner

I had an incredible dining experience here! This place is a gem in the 5th Avenue area.

The **Curry Duck** was the highlight of the night—the skin was perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with the flavorful curry. The **squid** was also incredibly fresh and well-prepared. For appetizers, don't miss the **scallops**; they were so fresh and sweet.

The drinks were excellent and the service was top-notch. A huge shoutout to our waiter Taylor who was extremely attentive and friendly. Great food, great vibes, and great service. 5 stars all the way!

Response from the owner

This place was great. The scallops app was not my favorite but that could be personal preference. The coconut shrimp was perfection. I had the chicken pad thai which was amazing. Could use a little spice but still great. My wife had the fish and loved it. Service was fantastic and very attentive. Would and most likely going to come back again!

Response from the owner

Hi there, we're truly grateful for your fantastic review! It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed the coconut shrimp and the chicken pad thai. We'll be happy to spice it up a bit next time! We look forward to welcoming you and your wife back for another delightful dining experience.

If you’re looking for a fun group dinner spot in NYC, Dag Thai is definitely one to check out 🍜✨

I came here on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday with a group of 5 and it was perfect for a larger party. Definitely make a reservation though because it gets busy. They have both upstairs and downstairs seating, so there’s a good amount of space which I liked.

We made it just in time for happy hour and I started with the “Be Nice” cocktail 🍸 and wow…SO good. It had this light frothy top and was super smooth. At $15, it felt like a great deal for NYC and I ended up getting two because I loved it that much 😅

Now for the food 👇

We started with the scallop bites which were tasty and a solid appetizer, but not something I’d rush back for.

The Neur Yang (steak) 🥩 was really well done. Cooked perfectly, super flavorful, and came with sticky rice and veggies that balanced it out nicely.

The shrimp fried rice 🍤 was good, but pretty standard nothing super memorable there.

BUT the standout… the Dagg Haeng Noodle 🍜🔥
This was AMAZING. The crispy pork was perfectly done and the noodles were so flavorful. Easily my favorite dish of the night and the one I’d go back for again and again.

We finished with the taro puff which was a nice sweet ending to the meal 🥮

Service wise, everything came out really fast which I appreciated, but I will say they do try to move you along pretty quickly and are strict about the 1.5 hour table time. They also brought out entrees before appetizers which felt a little rushed.

Overall, really good food, great for groups, and a fun vibe for a night out in the city. I’d definitely come back especially for those noodles 🤩

Response from the owner

Wow, thank you for sharing such a detailed and vibrant review! We're overjoyed you chose Dagg Thai for your friend's celebration. Those Dagg Haeng Noodles are definitely a favorite! Looking forward to welcoming you back for more happy moments and delicious bites. 😊

Came here for dinner with my team while a colleague was visiting from Chicago. I made a reservation well in advance and received a text about 30 minutes before asking to confirm.

The food was actually very good. We had a few appetizers including the beef salad and curry puffs, both were delicious. I also ordered the Pad Kee Mao with beef and that was excellent as well.

What really took away from the experience was the service. As soon as we sat down, we were told there was a strict hour and a half time limit, which was never mentioned when making the reservation. Throughout the meal, our server came over constantly, every couple of minutes, asking if we were ready to order, if everything was okay, or if we needed anything else. It made it very difficult to relax and enjoy the meal, especially since this was meant to be a nice dinner with a visiting colleague.

I also mentioned that we had someone in from out of town and that we had planned ahead with a reservation, but the approach did not change. On top of that, my order was not prepared correctly, which may have been a result of the rushed service.

Overall, the food was great, but the service and pressure to move quickly made the experience feel uncomfortable. I think it would really help if the time limit was clearly stated when booking and if guests were given a bit more space to enjoy their meal.

Had a great dinner at Dagg Thai Restaurant. The Scallop Bite was very fresh, crispy outside and tender inside with lots of flavorful toppings. The Pork Jerk had a unique presentation and tasted great with the sweet chili sauce.

The Nuer Yang (charcoal grilled steak) was juicy and smoky, perfect with sticky rice, and the crab fried rice had large pieces of real crab meat. Drinks were also good — the Thai tea had the perfect sweetness and the Mango Walk cocktail was smooth and mango-forward.

Ended with the tamarind sorbet, which was refreshing and balanced the richness of the meal nicely. Definitely worth trying!

Response from the owner

Hello! Thank you so much for your amazing review. We're delighted to know you enjoyed the freshness and unique flavors of our dishes, along with the drinks. Your kind words about the scallop bite, pork jerk, and other favorites brighten our day. We look forward to welcoming you back for another delightful meal!

The chive dumplings was okay I give it 6.5. Fun crunchy texture specially the green leaf you will have fun eating, it was the chefs specialty of the season.Flavor 8.0 the meat on top was delicious.
The green curry with tofu and veggies is a 8.7, spicy, great texture of vegetables it is on point. The severing size for one person and very filling. Service was amazing, they were always paying attention to see if I needed anything and refilled the water without having to ask.

Response from the owner

Had such a great experience at Dagg Thai! The location by Bryant Park is super convenient, and the space feels warm, modern, and perfect for a girls’ dinner or small celebration.

The food was creative and well executed. The fried papaya salad was a fun twist, the squid was fresh and flavorful, and the fried fish was perfectly crispy with a delicious sauce. Cocktails were also great — light, refreshing, and easy to drink.

But the highlight for me was the Taro Puff with coconut ice cream. Crispy outside, soft and fragrant inside, and the coconut ice cream tasted just like classic coconut candy,so nostalgic and so good. I would honestly come back just for that dessert.

It’s slightly on the pricier side (around $60 per person), but definitely worth it for the quality and overall experience. Would happily return!

Response from the owner

We really appreciate your lovely feedback! It's heartwarming to hear you enjoyed our dishes and that the Taro Puff with coconut ice cream was a highlight for you. 😊 We're glad you found us conveniently located and perfect for your gathering. Hope to see you again soon for another delightful experience!

Food was delicious!! The dessert (taro puff) was truly a standout. I wish the basil entree was more saucy, but it was delicious and very spicy. Appetizers were yummy and drinks were so fresh and smooth and well mixed. It seemed on the pricy side at first, but for 2 apps, 3 entrees, 2 rounds of drinks, and a shared single dessert, AND tip, we paid around $90/pp so I’d say that’s a good deal for manhattan. Service was good, I wish they were more attentive towards the end of service, but food came out quickly and they replaced our silverware between apps and entrees. Would definitely come back!!

Response from the owner

We're so happy to hear you enjoyed the food and especially our taro puff! It means a lot to us that you found the overall experience satisfactory and reasonably priced. We appreciate your feedback regarding the service and will work on being more attentive. Looking forward to serving you again in the future!

DAGG Thai NYC was honestly such a great dining experience. From the moment the food started coming out, you could tell a lot of care goes into both the presentation and the flavors.

We started with the scallops and they were perfectly seared, tender, and paired beautifully with the fresh herbs and sauce. The crispy fried shrimp was golden and crunchy on the outside and juicy inside, especially dipped in the sweet chili sauce. The whole fried fish was one of my favorites. The skin was crispy, the meat was moist, and the herbs and chilies on top gave it that perfect Thai balance of fresh, savory, and a little spicy.

The steamed duck was incredibly tender and full of flavor. It was moist without feeling heavy and just really comforting overall. The duck curry was rich and creamy with just the right amount of heat. Everything felt well thought out and nicely executed. Dessert was also a great way to end the meal, light, not too sweet, and beautifully plated.

The service was warm and attentive, and we felt taken care of the entire time. Overall, I would definitely come back. If you are looking for elevated Thai food in NYC with great flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, DAGG Thai is worth visiting.

If spiciness is your thing, Dagg Thai Restaurant is a place you don’t want to miss. Dagg Thai delivers on every level with flavor, presentation, vibe, and hospitality. From drinks and appetizers to soups, salads, entrees and desserts, everything feels made in house with the best available ingredients. The menu offers so much that you won’t be able to try everything in one visit, so you’ll find yourself planning your next dinner before you’ve even finished this one.

4.9 stars with over 1.5k reviews? I had to see what the hype was about. A table for 3 on a Wednesday evening had a wait time of 35-40 mins.

The space is small but well furnished and managed.

Order Thai ice tea and the kiwi mint to start and both were really good, balanced and refreshing.

For starters had the wings, curry puffs, and veggie rolls. Again all great, fresh, and hit! Particularly loved the wings!

For mains has the duck curry, New York strip steak, and the beef basil fried rice. All flavorful, tasty and well balanced in terms of spice/heat levels. The steak was perfectly cooked but wished the duck had more of a distinct roasted flavor- it easily could’ve been mistaken for chicken if I didn’t know better.

Portion sizes were on the smaller size for the price points but overall the food and service were good.

Response from the owner
