We found several reviews calling this the best gluten-free fried chicken in NYC, and with my wife being very gluten-sensitive, we had to give it a try. We’re glad we did.

This ended up being our favorite meal of the entire trip. And that’s saying something—we ate at some great places while we were here. The chicken was outstanding, the quality was obvious, and being able to enjoy a meal like this without worrying about gluten made the experience even better.

The service, atmosphere, and attention to detail were all excellent. Thank you for making what was already a great NYC trip even more memorable. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. And what what on the handwashing station.

COQODAQ is fabulous! We went for Sunday brunch as a party of four and had a blast. The vibe is fantastic — great lighting, great music, and the service was on point throughout. Small touch but they have a hand wash station stocked with top-line branded soaps, which is a fun and thoughtful detail for a fried chicken spot.

Brunch is $58 per person and honestly great value for what you get. Appetizers come family style and there's a lot of them — kimbap, french toast, deviled eggs, lettuce cups with steak tartare, croquettes, and hash browns topped with salmon roe. For mains, each person picks one — we went with the three signature fried chickens: OG, gochujang glazed, and soy glazed. All excellent, though portions felt a bit smaller than what I'd imagine the dinner version looks like. Dessert was soft serve with a spread of accompaniments — strawberries, mangoes, and grapes — a fun and light way to end. We opened a bottle of rosé champagne which was well priced, and the champagne list here is seriously impressive. Will definitely be back for dinner!
Beautiful venue, lively atmosphere, unique food experience, but the highlight for me was the staff! I've seen some low star reviews about the service but my experience was awesome.

Something special I noticed was that every single staff member we passed greeted us as we entered, throughout the meal, and as we left. Those intentional points of contact really impress me from a hospitality standpoint and it's a rare thing to find.

Also their champagne sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to chat with!
The fried chicken was good however some of the sauced fried chicken options I thought were okay. The sides paired with the drinks were an excellent touch though. The drinks were quite expensive however everything was well done. If going I would recommend going for an event, purchasing the family style preset (bets value), making a res far in advance, and trying the caviar nuggets (highlight for the meal). I’m unsure if worth all the hype, however it was fun for a once in a while experience.
COQODAQ lives up to the hype — we were not disappointed at all.

The beautiful black interior with thoughtful lighting creates such a nice atmosphere right when you walk in. The clean sinks to wash hands upon entry were a thoughtful touch. The cute champagne trolley by the entrance also sets the vibe.

We ordered The Bucket List Featuring COQODAQ’s Signature Fried Chicken Feast. It included a lot of food, but surprisingly we managed to finish everything because it was that good. Crispy, juicy, and seasoned perfectly.

Service was great from start to finish. It’s obvious this is a well managed restaurant with a well trained team. Staff welcomed us warmly, were super friendly, and food came out promptly.

Also props to their marketing — they did a good job. And the cute, well designed to-go paper containers with no plastic? Yay for that.

Overall, would absolutely come back to try other dishes here.
COQODAQ completely lives up to the hype—and then some. From the moment you walk in, the space feels elevated but still fun, with a polished, high-energy vibe that makes it perfect for anything from a date night to a celebratory dinner.

The food is the real star here. Their Korean-inspired fried chicken is insanely good—perfectly crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite feels intentional, from the sauces to the sides. It’s one of those meals where you keep thinking about it after you leave.

But what really pushed the experience over the top was the bar service—specifically Joshua. Hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve come across. Not only does he know his craft (the drinks were balanced, creative, and actually memorable), but his energy made the whole night better. He was attentive without hovering, personable without being forced, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell he takes pride in both the drinks and the guest experience.

Between the food, the atmosphere, and standout service from Joshua, COQODAQ is 100% worth it. If you go, sit at the bar—you won’t regret it.
We visited Coqodaq to celebrate a birthday, and from the moment we arrived at the host stand to the end of our meal, the experience was exceptional.

Our group opted for the “Brucket List” dining experience, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. The pacing of the meal was spot on—each course arrived at just the right time, allowing us to enjoy everything without ever feeling rushed or waiting too long. The service truly stood out. Our server, Paul, along with the rest of the team, delivered an impressive level of attentiveness and care. Our glasses were consistently refreshed, plates were cleared and replaced seamlessly, and the table was meticulously reset between courses.

The attention to detail from both the service staff and management did not go unnoticed. A standout moment came when two guests ordered the fried chicken as their main. One piece was slightly undercooked, and although we chose not to raise the issue, a manager proactively noticed, approached our table, and addressed it immediately. Not only was the piece replaced, but it was swapped out for an entirely fresh plate of chicken—an unexpected and generous gesture that spoke volumes about their commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

Overall, it was a memorable dining experience marked by excellent food, thoughtful service, and genuine hospitality. I would absolutely return to Coqodaq again and again.
What a great spot! Would definitely make a reservation, we came with one thankfully on a Sunday evening and on our way out around 7 PM overhead it was a 1.5 hour wait for a table. The food is on point and we shared we just got engaged when making the reservation on resy in the notes, they brought us free chicken nuggets with caviar and put candles in our yogurt as part of bucket we each ordered. The service was one of the best service experiences we have had, on our way to the table alone at least 3 of the staff said welcome to us. When we ordere drinks our waitress waited until my fiancé returned from the bathroom the pour his so it wouldnt get warm. They kept the drinks and food flowing while ensuring our every need was met. Would highly recommend! Oh and the egg cocktail is amazing.
I been wanting to come to this place for quite some time now and I was finally able to get here. The atmosphere and vibe is definitely worth it but that’s about it. The reason I came here is because of the bucket of fried chicken, but definitely not worth the price. All the sides that it comes with is not worth it and it doesn’t match what the actual fried chicken is made for when they bring you the bucket of chicken they bring you some at a time and it’s not a full bucket full of chicken and it doesn’t taste like anything special it’s basically breaded and fried. I was very upset at this because it’s literally what I wanted to eat for such a long time and definitely not worth a hype. The drinks are OK. However, the customer service and the ambience is worth everything. I also spent extra money for the mac & cheese and that tasted like a basic mac & cheese that you can buy from a fast food place nothing to write home about. The curly onion rings were good but they were way too breaded.
The seating is a bit awkward if they place you in their outdoor dining during winter time because compared to the indoor dining atmosphere, the outdoor one has a foldable table as the table and outdoor lawn chairs as the chairs. The chicken was good, nothing too crazy. I think it’s a bit overhyped but the cilantro aioli and the soy garlic marinated chicken were both phenomenal. The broth to start off the meal was also good.

Hi Aliya, My name is Thailer and I am the Assistant General Manager at Coqodaq. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the soy glazed chicken, our cilantro aioli, as well as the chicken consommé to start your meal. We understand that outdoor seating can feel different, especially in colder weather, and we appreciate your insight on this. We're always looking for ways to enhance our guests' experiences and we hope to welcome you back to enjoy more of our menu soon! Drop me a line at tcb@coqodaq.com and let's discuss how we can make your next visit more special!
This restaurant offers one of the best restaurant week experience in NYC. It ranks the highest in terms of:
1. Selection of items for restaurant week menu, most places don’t offer their best sellers but not them,
2. Service. I’ve been to multiple michelin star holding restaurants and our server Don was in that league and offered a stand out service which made it a very pleasant experience overall.
10/10 would recommend this place and visit again!
Fantastic atmosphere and service. The food was good, not great. The focus is on Korean fried chicken. While the chicken was good, it’s not so good that I would return just for the chicken. I’ve had better Korean fried chicken at more traditional restaurants for much lower prices. But I would return for the combination of atmosphere, food & drinks, and great service.
If you come here just for the vibes, that alone is enough. The restaurant is sexy despite coming for a family friendly Sunday Brunch. The music is also what I call sexy pop. The wash station when you first walk in is very welcoming and very instagrammable. The free coat check is nice as well. It was extremely busy that day (although I expect that it is ALWAYS busy), yet the staff was super friendly and attentive. We all ended up ordering the Brucket List, with the original chicken and 2 different flavors, all the various banchans that it came with, chicken and waffles, the egg cocktail, and 1 single caviar nugget. It is a little faddy and I just wanted to try it. It's not anything stellar to be honest but, when in Rome. All the banchans were tasty. Personally the kimbap was very comforting. We also enjoyed the croquettes and the caviar and tuna tartare hashbrowns. The fermented veggies were nice as well. Overall, we had a very nice time and the price was not bad at all. We will definitely be back.
While we expected (and got!) an excellent meal, what I’m truly blown away by was the hospitality at Coqodaq. A fantastic experience from start to finish!
Food:
We went for brunch on a Sunday. We had an 11:30am reservation and were seated immediately. We all ordered the “brucket list” with the signature fried chicken. The accompaniments were excellent, beautifully plated, and coursed appropriately. The fried chicken was excellent- light and crunchy without being oily, and the flavor was wonderful. The soft serve dessert is the perfect sweet/tart ending to the meal.
Wine:
We were drawn here partially because we are champagne lovers and were not disappointed! Frederic, the sommelier, helped us choose two DELICIOUS bottles that were truly unique. I appreciate that they have a large <$100 bottle list. We really enjoyed talking to the somm and his recommendations were spot on. He was so knowledgeable which we really appreciated.
Atmosphere:
A+++ fun group brunch vibes! The DJ was such a fun touch, the music was so fun and upbeat but not too loud. You could easily have a conversation without yelling.
Service:
The most spectacular hospitality I’ve experienced at a restaurant in a long time (and we eat out in Houston/Dallas/Atlanta often). Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, upbeat, and attentive. It was clear it’s a team effort with the staff- nothing went unnoticed. The manager we spoke to was so kind and complimentary of her team when we spoke highly of her staff. She even shared her personal reservation line should we want to make a reservation in the future.
What truly blew me away was that the experience didn’t end when the meal was over. We got an email the following day from the somm reminding us of the bottles we ordered and thanking us for coming in. Just next level attention to detail.
It’s also a very pretty restaurant with great lighting!

If it’s seems like I’m gushing, it’s because I am. We’ll add Coqodaq to all future NYC itineraries and I will sing this restaurant’s praises to anyone who asks!
Difficult to get a reservation for two. One opened up for lunch a couple of days before.

Beautiful ambience and presentation. It really felt like finding that much more affordable prices. We got the lunch special serving of chicken and rice with a seaweed soup starter, and then we did the chicken bucket and the tuna tartare. The tuna tartare was really fresh, the bread was crispy and fried and heavier than I thought, but very filling.

We tried every flavor of fried chicken, I do think the original is the best flavor. Really nice presentation on sauces to go with it. Very great service overall, nice passionfruit on top of yogurt too and the meal. The fried chicken felt very clean and not too heavy, but I did not leave feeling still hungry.

To be honest, you could definitely get that good Korean fried chicken at a cheaper price but the setting/restaurant really make it
