Been twice this time around. Everything is lovely. Fast and delicious, with nice portions. Staff is friendly and lots of seating is available. Highly recommended.
One of the best diners around NYC, as someone who has loved going to diners since I was a kid this spot has it all.

Great breakfast choices, sandwiches, dessert and great selections of alcohol as well. Definitely captures the classic New York City diner style that’s been sadly decreasing.

I definitely recommend coming here cause once you try the food here you’ll want to come back.
I used to bring my daughter here ever since she was like 4 years old. I used to work on 23rd and 10th so I came here frequently myself for lunch. They have great soup, they have great hamburgers and cheeseburgers, a dessert platter that is out of this world. And the price is reasonable unfortunately I now live in Florida so I haven't been back here in about 20 years but next time I'm in New York you can bet that I will hit this place up again
Never in my life have I seen better, tastier food or BIGGER portions in New York 😭🤍
The portions here are absolutely insane they seriously do NOT hold back on anything. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and huge that the camera honestly cannot show how much food was actually on the table.

I got a salad, my boyfriend got pasta with meatballs, and we literally could not finish our food because the portions were THAT massive 😭

And the atmosphere… sooo beautiful. The ambiance is cozy, warm, and just has such a nice energy. One of those places where you just want to sit for hours and enjoy everything ✨
You guys HAVE to come here, seriously you MOOOOST come 😭
This was honestly unbelievable and we will 100% be coming back again😍😍😍😍
I've been coming here ever since I was a student in NYC 13 years ago. Everytime I came visit, I'd always come here. This time I came with a friend and both ordered Huevos Rancheros and a coffee. The portion was huge and certainly very delicious. Not the cheapest place for a breakfast, but it has maintained its quality over the years. It's not a big deal, but I'd have to mention that our server lady was a bit impatient when taking our order. My friend is a chatty old lady who hasn't seen me for 6 years or so. We told the server to give us some time, but when she came back we still weren't ready. So I said give us 2 more mins. She literally came back 2 mins later. We just picked what we saw on the menu, and my friend ordered the same thing. Please have a bit of more patience...
Great breakfast with authentic atmosphere. I had never had such an enormous portion of food before. That pancakes were bigger than my head and they were delicious. They also refilled my tea with hot water. Service was nice and quick. Would definitely recommend this place.
NYC diners are no longer a dime a dozen. They’re becoming an endangered species to say the least. But it’s nice to know that places like the Chelsea square diner still stick around. Delicious breakfast options with warm welcoming staff. The owner himself greeted me as I took pics of the place. Can’t wait to come back on a regular basis. Lived in the neighborhood for years but always walked past in a hurry. Won’t happen again! Bravo to these guys and hope they go on late into the nyc nights !
I wasted 50 minutes of my time, traveling to go to this supposed “amazing diner” and all I was left with was disappointment. First I ordered a soup which apparently included paper towels in my soup. This was absolutely disgusting. How did no one notice the clump of paper sitting in my soup? I spent $32 dollars on the worst milk shakes I have ever had. They tasted like they were purely ice with no ice cream. Have no idea how you fumble making a milkshake but they did. For my entrée I had a burger which was incredibly bland and distasteful. Tasted more like fake lunch meat. The whole experience was awful and I will never be stepping foot in this restaurant ever again. I would advise you to do the same because it’s a waste of your time, money, and energy.
Response from the owner
The soups, the milkshake AND the burgers were bad? You sure you have the right place? Sorry you had a bad experience but this is far from typical.
Eggs Benedict and omelette were decent, pancakes were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was very cool in there as well and service was great. Glad we went there for Sunday brunch!
Me and my friends had found this place online and the second we walked in, we knew we found a fantastic spot. Our server was a sweet gentleman who greeted us and tended to us with amazing care. When we sat down the lighting was beautiful, the decorations were so fitting, and the atmosphere was so cozy. The food was brought out quick and incredible. Will be returning just for the food and Dennis we think that’s his name
This is my favorite Diner !
Always good energy, the staff are very welcoming and treat me kindly.
Great service!
Food is always fresh and delicious.
Very reasonably priced! You get a lot of food for your money.
I love eating here !
Chelsea Square Diner is a staple for us—we come here almost every weekend for breakfast and it never disappoints. The pancakes are a favorite, and the biscuits and gravy are also excellent. Portions are generous, so consider splitting.

Service is always friendly and attentive, and the food comes out quickly. It just feels like a classic NYC diner experience.
Got their specials: Matzah ball soup, Brisket, and Goulash.
The brisket is so good and flavorful. Served with potatoes of your choice and I got us french fries which was perfectly fried.
The goulash tasted mild, enough spice for American taste (as an asian I could use more but its fine). The matzah ball was good too.
Also got the yankee beans soup, fresh and comforting.
Milkshake was great!
Portions were HUGE.

It was 5 of us and I think the total bill was 100$ish which is okey.
Came here with a group of friends after a late night ice hockey game at the Skyrink on Chelsea Piers. Menu was very simple for a diner (I'm used to the massive NJ diner menus) and not looking to spend too much, I opted for a bacon cheeseburger with mango habeñero chicken tenders to share. One of the other patrons ordered chocolate chip pancakes. When the food came, they brought her a chocolate shake (not chocolate chip pancakes) and the mango habeñero never came either, instead we received buffalo sauce, which was the only other option for the chicken tenders. Not wanting to send another item back, we chose to just eat the buffalo chicken tenders. I do feel the burger was decent, large and compared to other menu items, I felt was fairly priced. Some other items I thought were pretty high ($22 for 4 chicken tenders and French fries). I understand...it's NYC prices, but this is also a diner, not an upscale eatery. I've spent less on very nice sushi rolls than those chicken tenders, so if I'm using that as a measuring stick, I did feel many items were over priced. For a late night meal after a game (and everything else is closed)...it fits the bill. But if anything else is open, I'd personally eat elsewhere.
