Came here for dinner without a reservation, but there were still tables available.<br><br>The soup dumplings were rich and flavorful, and just the right temperature to eat right away, not boiling hot like other places.<br><br>The soup was tasty but too salty from the pork.<br><br>The moonlight vegetables were crispy and delicious.<br><br>The shrimp were so tender and the tea flavor was mild but added a unique flavor to each bite.

Friendly attentive service. Beautiful space with seating that seems quite private. Ordering by ipad with photos is helpful. Food does not come out at same time but when ready so sharing works best. Maybe free range chicken & duck is used hence the tougher but not dry meat. Shrimp with noodles cooked perfectly but a bit sweet. Fried rice w pine nuts barely had pine nuts but still good. Cumin lamb rib seasoning very well but was 90% fat. Too fatty for some. Soup dumpling is clean & tasty. Dont expect Joe shanghai's americanized version. Veggies was dripping in too much oil. Crispy duck was disappointing. Will try again as the menu is vast.

Great experience. Che Li is such a beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere feels elegant and peaceful, almost like a traditional Chinese garden. My family celebrated my birthday here, and the staff made it feel very special by preparing a birthday bouquet on the table.<br><br>The servers were incredibly friendly, kind, and attentive. They even gave me an adorable peach-shaped bun for my birthday, but I forgot to take a photo of it, haha. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture.<br><br>The food was, as always, delicate, beautifully presented, and delicious. The staff really care about your experience, and the whole meal felt warm and memorable. I would definitely recommend Che Li, especially for special occasions.

Been to CHELI three times now and it’s perfect every time. Food is delicious, service is excellent, and I love how much care goes into their food decoration. Nothing feels rushed. The whole place has a great environment too. One of the best in Flushing NY, no question.

We somehow secured a Mother’s Day dinner here for 5 without reservations! We gladly accepted a smaller table to get in. We had tried the restaurant next door jiang nan before and when we first entered we thought it was the same restaurant due to the decor, but staff said it wasn’t.<br><br>Finding the restaurant - easiest by accessing it from in front of the Tangram mall, maps initially had us walking through large restaurant area outdoors and going in circles for a bit.<br><br>I broke my rule of never going out on Mother’s Day because service is usually subpar, food is too and it’s just too busy but we took my mom to NyC for the day so had to eat lol.<br><br>Food was quite good, though overpriced a bit. We had the soup dumplings, sweet and sour fish, beggar chicken (with a small show), ham and vegetable clay pot rice, and a veggie dish. It was all delish! I especially loved the rice and hope to replicate it at home. Osthmanthus dessert (warm) wasn’t good, I probably should have gotten the cool one.<br><br>Service left a lot to be desired, which may be due to it being so busy. Hard to get staff to ask questions about the order. For the prices, one would think service would be exceptional. The staff were busy and seemed annoyed at requests for water, tea, etc.<br><br>I would try it again on a less busy weekend.

I went in with a party of 6, waited for a bit for a table to open up, and was immediately astonished by the decor, service, and food quality.<br><br>There is an energy of coziness and warmth with the ornamental wood pillars, golden lanterns draping from oriental roof tiles, and the blue seats that compliment a central white table.<br><br>You order from a handheld device, but if you need a personal server, you can request them in less than a second with a tap of a button from the tablet menu and get an equally fast response time.<br><br>The food was the best part. I ordered the osmanthus plum juice, and it had one of the most contemplative, yet refreshing taste I have ever experienced in the last 5 years. My party ordered over 5 dishes, and 3 of which had a distinctive and prominent taste. Chilled, quenching wine-soaked chicken; succulent crispy duck; savory stir-fried Shanghai noodles. I recommend the crispy duck the most, but all of them are of amazing quality for any new guest.

The atmosphere of Cheli is gorgeous with the food’s taste and presentation being superb. It was easy to order food and the staff was extremely helpful whether it was describing the food’s flavor profiles or changing our plates multiple times as we ate shrimp and very attentive to our party’s allergies. I will definitely return here.

This restaurant absolutely impressed me from start to finish. The decor was fantastic the moment you step in, and every dish was not only beautifully presented but packed with flavor.<br><br>The beggar’s chicken definitely lived up to its hype. It was SOOOO tender and juicy, soaked in a rich, savory sauce that had the perfect balance of sweetness and depth. Unwrapping it felt like opening a gift.<br><br>The sizzling beef dish arrived dramatically over open flames. The meat was perfectly cooked, tender with just the right amount of char, and paired beautifully with peppers and onions. The presentation made it exciting, but the flavor with its subtle black peppers is what really stood out.<br><br>And the seasonal dessert was almost too cute to eat! Light and tangy, it was the perfect ending to a satisfying meal.<br><br>You can tell a lot of care goes into both the presentation and flavor here. It’s a wonderful gem in the heart of flushing!

Had a fabulous dinner here on a Saturday night. We arrived right before the dinner rush and got seated right away. I do recommend making reservations if you can.<br><br>Food:<br>-Che li’s pork belly 10/10, loved the texture and flavor<br>-Crispy smoked fish 8/10, fish was crispy and flavorful<br>-Hot stone braised rice 10/10, loved the toasted rice texture<br>-Flaming beggars chicken 8/10, loved how they presented the dish<br><br>Service: 10/10. Waiter was attentive and welcoming.<br><br>Atmosphere: 10/10. Beautiful decor and loved the walkway path.

The food and service was amazing. Our server, Ryan was so sweet and helpful and also very accommodating! Definitely recommend coming here to try the food and hospitality again! Also the decor inside was impecable! I felt like I was transported to another place. We also got the sake cocktails, would not recommend and the dessert was okay, the cookies were amazing though! The savory part of the dinner and the star of the show were definitely the dinner plates.

The atmosphere is top-notch, a must-see in flushing. You walk in and you’re immediately greeted with a night stall. There’s jars of alcohol sitting on the shelves for decoration just like in the C dramas.<br><br>We sit down, and we’re immediately greeted with the nicest servers who sit us down and are very sweet.<br><br>Last but not least, the food:<br><br>It was spectacular. The type of smack-dab good that we could’ve licked our fingers, but chopsticks stood in the way. We became beggars and kings in the same breath, peasants who flew through the blackened chicken so fast it barely had time to live in its clay pot. The plate turned into nothing: meat vanished, skin surrendered, and what remained were bones laid in their final burial. The blossoming sweet-and-sour bass bloomed like fireworks. Lastly, desserts arrived, snow glistened on top. They’re definitely meant for those who enjoy “not too sweet desserts”.<br><br>And the crispy duck quacked at us.<br><br>Overall, a cool spot with solid service and food that definitely delivers.<br><br>太好。真的太好。<br><br>我来了。<br>我还会再来。

Very impressed by the atmosphere, the service, and of course the food. From the first moment you walk in, you immediately notice the interior design of the restaurant. The service was excellent as they checked in on you to make sure you were having a good dining experience.<br><br>The food was all excellent as well. I highly recommend the garlic steamed prawn and wine-soaked chicken. Both were very delicious and memorable. Looking forward to visiting again and try more of their menu items. Highly recommend!

Their signature dishes, especially the braised pork belly, is perfectly executed with deep, comforting flavors.<br><br>The atmosphere is clean and modern while still feeling warm and welcoming, making it great for both family dinners and gatherings with friends. Service is attentive and efficient, even during busy hours. Portions are generous and well worth the price.<br><br>If you’re looking for real Shanghainese food in Flushing, CheLi is absolutely one of the best choices. Highly recommended!

The braised pork with quail eggs and the braised rice were really good. The pork soup dumplings were okay, the restaurant next door has bigger ones for the same price. The eel with the wrap was also just okay, not amazing. The dessert was really pretty and tasted good too.<br><br>However, the drink (Coconut Jasmine Breeze) was disappointing. As you can see in the pictures, it looked nothing like the advertised drink. We ordered two because we expected it to be a pretty drink, so it was extra disappointing. These were placed on our table exactly like this, we didn’t mix them before taking the photo. The taste wasn’t great either.<br><br>Service was amazing, though, the vibe of the restaurant was great, the interior was pretty, and the hot tea they serve (instead of water) was very nice, especially since we came on a very cold day.

One of the best Shanghaine style restaurant I had in NYC. The restaurant is beautifully designed and super clean. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly.<br><br>The beggar's chicken and braised pork belly was extremely tender, melts in your mouth. The Kaofu was perfectly done, unlike many places where it's overwhelmed by a sugary sauce, here it was perfectly balanced and subtly sweet. Also got the pumpkin with salted egg yolk based off another review and it delivered. Crispy, flavorful and smooth with no grainy texture.<br><br>The best part was I didn't feel extremely bloated after eating so much. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.
