CHECK YOUR PUCKUP ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

I placed an order online on their website for pick up and I picked up the order and thinking they are pros and will have everything ordered in the bag. Later when reached home after 45 mins drive I find that I was missing a mixed shawarma platter, one of most expensive items in my order.

I called the store, gave them all details. The girl kindly told me she will call me back, and they did. However, they called to tell me a lie that they checked the camera footage and found that 4 platters and 2 fries were placed in the bag.

It would’ve been much better, if they did not call back. I would’ve preferred losing the money and live with the understanding that they are so busy and mistakes happen and they also forgot to call me back.

But to call me back and say they checked the camera footage and state that the order was complete (basically telling me that I’m lying) was just brutal and left me no choice but to leave this review.

So again, check your order before you leave and make sure you have everything.

Absolutely delicious and full of flavor! The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the rice aromatic and fluffy, and all the fresh sides made the plate feel balanced and homemade. The pickled vegetables added the perfect tangy kick 🌿✨
Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Even the presentation looked inviting and colorful. Definitely a place I’d come back to when craving a satisfying, flavorful meal in NYC!

I ordered TooGoodToGo for $6 the food was amazing and great service at Zayra Restaurant in Astoria. The beautiful Women (probably the owner/manager) at the front counter was nice and friendly cause it was my first time trying, and the food came out fresh, the overall experience was excellent.

I’ve tried this place three times now and I just don’t like it. I know Mamdani loves and I and I like almost all his favorite places but this just doesn’t do it for me. I’ve had the chicken adana laffa, sausage laffa, mixed shwarma pita, and eggplant. The laffa sandwiches are definitely better than the pita sandwiches. Still, the flavors just don’t really do it for me. The spice mix on the chicken and sausage is off putting; the shwarma meat is a little burned; the sandwiches are all way too overstuffed; and most importantly, their sauces really suck (to me at least). The hot sauce tastes like Frank’s with some sugar added; the garlic sauce is even sweeter and tastes almost like thousand island salad dressing instead of whipped garlic—and they slather it all over everything. Also, service takes a really long time and the staff aren’t friendly.

So, I would not recommend anyone ever eating here. Other similar places are much better: Duzan, Merguez and Frites, Mahmoud’s, Best of Best, King of Falafel, Eat It, even chain restaurants like Shah’s.

There is nothing I would recommend about this place.

As always, the best! Mixed grill is perfect for every couple. Mint lemonade is a low-key must! Pure flavor and quality meat.

Zyara was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was incredibly flavorful and you can tell everything is made with care. I ordered the mixed shawarma and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. The portion was so generous it left me completely full, and I even had some to take home. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

So we all know the food is amazing at Zyara and at this point thats well established. However, maybe thats why the staff/ people that run this place are getting too comfortable disrespecting customers and acting obnoxious.
We tried going here after a long time and boy was it the worst experience ever. Some big dude that apparently seemed to be running the place was constantly yelling at both the workers and the customers. On top of that this dude offended many people he was pushing out as if they didnt care and would not listen to them. Yes it was packed but theres a much nicer way to deal with customers. I am just explaining what I saw, if that had happened to me I prolly would have lost it lol.
My friend really wanted to go, and after seeing the staff didnt even knoe what they were out of- one person was saying no beef while the other one saying no chicken lmao. The whole place was just chaos.
This is usually how businesses start to fall imo.
I personally would never go back

Was looking for a quick bite to eat in the area stumbled across here wasn't quick, but it was great! I waited about 30 minutes to get seated, but how crowded it is and how many people that are trying to eat there. I was very pleased with the wait time. All the waiters & busboys are very nice. My friend ordered a chicken Shawarma. I got the mixed Shawarma. Everything was super good. Lemonade was super fresh and sour just how I like it. I'll definitely be back with my family.

Came here for a quick bite later in the evening. The place was packed but the servers were attentive and kind. The shawarma was finished so I ordered the chicken kebab platter with Jerusalem salad and hummus. The chicken was flavorful and fresh off the grill. The salad wasn’t my favorite. The vegetables were a little mushy and waterlogged for my liking. The hummus was delicious. They weren’t able to offer water because they ran out and the bathroom was far from clean. I wouldn’t give up on Zyara just yet, but maybe I would try earlier in the day to see if the overall experience is better.

DELISH!!!!!!!! Worth the hype! We got the chicken Adana sandwich (amazing), and lamb platter. Everything was cooked to perfection and sauces were the cherry on top. we also got a side of baba ganoush and Turkish eggplant - both were phenomenal! Cannot wait to be back to try the rest of their menu. Highly recommend this spot for both take out or dine in.

Great food, huge portions.

A bit of a miscommunication with the server who ran my credit card but didn't ask me if I wanted to add tip - he said not to worry about it but I wanted to tip him! I wish I had had more cash on me.

Wow. What. A. Find.
Recommended by our (future?) mayor Zohran Mamdani — and honestly, this place blew me away. A true flavor bomb.

✔️ Great food
✔️ Quality ingredients
✔️ Fair prices
✔️ Small business with big heart
✔️ Everything I love about New York

This is the kind of spot that reminds me why this city is unbeatable: passionate people, honest food, and that real neighborhood soul.

Thanks, Zohran, for pointing me in the right direction. If this is the start of your legacy, it’s already looking very promising.
Who knows… maybe one day we’ll co-create the ultimate guide to New York’s hidden gems. 😉

Absolutely worth a visit. Go taste it. Enjoy it. NYC at its finest.

Can never go wrong with this place. The best shawarma in town. Just go for the Arabic shawarma as it is damn good. If you aren’t saucing it then you are missing out. The mint drink was alright and I would rather skip. Maybe hit it with peach laziza :)

Service needs improvement

I tried Zyara Restaurant in Astoria and the Chicken Kebab was absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was great. This will definitely be my new go-to spot for Mediterranean food in Astoria. Highly recommend!

Best Quality Food, Best Service And Clean Restaurant.
I have been going to this restaurant for dinner or lunch almost every week since its grand opening. The quality of the food is very good. The management of this restaurant is very conscious about cleanliness; and the people who work there are very friendly.
I highly recommend this restaurant for your next private event, family dinner, dine in or take out.
