I have shopped at this location since 2014. I buy fish often, but lately, for a few months now, the fish looks awful; dried up (as it has been frozen) and not very fresh. What is going on? The fish used to be the best at this Whole Foods Market so I wish they would look into this. Is there an issue with the fishermen who deliver the fish? As a long time customer I feel that this issue needs to be addressed.

New to the area , coming from Virginia beach . We only have one store there too i noticed we only have this one here as well.
Food , products are all good like in any other . I noticed the people working are disconnected to what customer service is . They have people who will be best at interacting with people filling online orders and people who doesn’t thrive at customer service in the cashiers section. The lady today was overwhelmed by having me and another customer I was like … you have no one else in the line nor does the rest of cashiers , every cashier was with an average of 2 people . The lady seem cranky and like didn’t want to be there. My comment here is select better the people who are often in interaction with the customer or rotate them so they don’t give a bad impression of what is to work at wholefoods.

I’ve been shopping here for years, and overall it’s been a good experience. However, one recurring issue has become increasingly frustrating. There is a cashier who frequently engages in extended conversations with customers in Spanish, which often slows down the checkout line.

While occasional friendly conversation is understandable, this seems to happen almost every time I visit, and it noticeably increases wait times for others in line. When you’re spending a significant amount each week, efficiency and professionalism at checkout really matter.

I hope management can address this so the checkout process runs more smoothly for everyone.

I'd give zero stars or NEGATIVE 10 stars for this WF location if i could! Customer service at this site is atrocious- none of the associates knows where anything is. So many items are out of stock for weeks, sometimes months before they are restocked or ordered again by the store. They are frequently out of reusable bags, also for weeks at a time and conveniently head office doesn't inform any of the associates who work on the floor about when anything will be restocked again. There is no question that the Whole Foods locations in NY are way more reliable, well stocked, and employees are more informed compared to the WF's in Edgewater and Paramus. If you are not in a pinch to get any groceries done, don't waste your time at this location.

It is a spacious store that is usually well stocked except some occasional produce that runs out. The staff always seems friendly and helpful. Store is always clean as well and there is someone always available to assist at the self checkout. Of note- there is no alcohol sold at this location. Even the little beer that is sold is non-alcoholic. Other than that, not sure what more could be expected.

Response from the owner

Thanks for stopping by, Steve!

This was one of my fav grocery stores for many years;however, the variety and unfortunately also the quality has changed since the Amazon take over.

They previously had a wonderful cheese counter with knowledgeable people running it - no more. Cheese selection is still decent but nothing like before and no personal recommendations anymore.

The produce variety has decreased (often bare shelves) and it’s not as fresh.

Sadly a lot of local and regional products are no longer offered.

My experience with staff at checkout etc is still very pleasant.

Hot bar and olive bar are both good.

Just wish they would refocus supporting local businesses but I guess that is not Amazon’s business model.

I used to love Whole Foods, but this location has been consistently frustrating - and I’ve truly reached my limit.

1. Constantly empty shelves. Many times I’ve visited, essential items like fresh produce, milk, meat, and other basics are simply out of stock. It’s shocking how frequently the shelves are half-empty.

2. Expired products on the shelves. I have personally found expired items multiple times. Once, I even told a staff member that many products on a shelf were expired - and when I returned a week later, those same expired items were still there. I ended up removing them myself and handing them to an employee, who looked completely indifferent.

3. Unsanitary practices at the hot food area. I once witnessed a cleaning staff member spraying disinfectant directly on the glass barrier - while food was sitting right below it. It’s unacceptable to ignore the risk of contamination like that.

4. Spoiled chicken and awful customer service. The final straw was buying a whole packaged chicken that reeked when I opened it - and this was before the sell-by date. I called the store and was told I could get a refund on my next visit. But when I returned, the customer service guy rolled his eyes and asked, with a condescending tone, “Did you bring the chicken?”
• Obviously, I didn’t keep a rotten chicken sitting in my house for a week - why would anyone do that?
• He then said I should have come back the same day, as if he knew anything about my schedule or whether I even had transportation that day.
• And when I pointed that out, he suggested I could have put the chicken in a Ziploc bag - as if everyone just happens to have a giant Ziploc bag to hold an entire chicken.
Not only did I lose the dinner I had planned to cook, but the spoiled chicken stank up my entire kitchen. And instead of an apology or any empathy, I was met with eye-rolling and a dismissive attitude - an unacceptable response from a store that claims to care about quality and customer experience.

This is by far the worst Whole Foods I’ve ever visited - and that’s deeply disappointing coming from a brand I used to trust and love.

I have been coming here for over 20 years , it's beautifully located by the water. It's always clean and has a huge selection of foods and drinks to choose from. I love grabbing a drink and walking by the water. Prices are a little high on most items but I guess it's because of the location. The Amazon fresh deals are decent. The hot food and salad bar has an excellent selection to choose from.

Today I saw lovely flowers, the price was all low. Sadly as my family got to the cashier they told us the flowers cost $40. We asked how it’s possible when all the other prices are $10 to $11 dollars for the flowers. The lady said that there’s was a mistake with the price, it is important to place price on every item but that one trying to scam people on buying expensive flowers which were all ready dying. It was a disappointment visit to this food market but we understand it’s not the employee fault but management.

I’ve been to many whole good before but this is one of my favorite. The flower selection is great the fruits and veggies are always a fantastic choice and I never have a problem trying to find anything. The staff is super helpful and always helps me when I have questions about a new product. My only problem I have is that the hot food doesn’t have a great choices or options. I usually don’t go there for there hot food though so it’s not a big deal for me but I would definitely come back to shop there!

Response from the owner

Thanks for the love, Ryan!

Another one of my favorite marketplaces. They’re always stocked with fresh produce and groceries. The inside is well-organized and laid out, and it’s very clean. Love the beautiful array of flowers whenever you walk in.

Response from the owner

We’re happy to hear that! Thanks for shopping with us.

Beautiful store! Exceptionally clean and well stocked. The employees definitely care about appearance here because every aisle looks straight out of a Whole Foods advertisement. My cashier was really friendly.

Response from the owner

We're glad to hear the love and as well as the support, Elizabeth!

This supermarket sits right on the waterfront of the Hudson River in Edgewater, New Jersey. Since Amazon bought the chain, the prices have been better but to get some food here you still have to dig into your pockets. The plus, good, clean quality food although you can now buy the same brands that any other supermarket sells but in Whole Food, the price would be around 10% to 15% more than any one else. Now as Amazon you can get some good Prime deals. Store has plenty of parking and the location is also good. A USDA Certified Organic grocer in the United States, the chain is popularly known for its organic selections. Whole Foods has 500 stores in North America and the United Kingdom as of March 4, 2019.

Such a great location, ok Hudson riverfront with NYC in view.
Parking is ample and free.
Very clean and also has food bar. You can also get freshly squeezed orange juice here.

Checkout lines are not long here since they have multiple checkout counters open.
