Vida Verde - Tequila Bar

I really thought this would be a good spot for a nice meal before heading to the theater, but I was very wrong. The three of us arrived at the start of happy hour and, when asked to be seated at a table instead of the bar, the host informed us we only had 90 minutes allotted. Not a super welcoming start, but okay…<br><br>And then came our bafflingly rude server. We only asked a couple of simple questions about the happy hour menu and drink options, but each time we were met with a long-suffering attitude I would have thought appropriate for demanding bores, not a small group of mild mannered patrons. Even after seeing that the happy hour price of a single taco was $6 (!), we were still willing to stick it out. And then came the final straw. When the server informed my mother, who was turning 70 that day, her choice of Diet Coke was unavailable and then just stood there staring at her, I chimed in to ask what were my mother’s other options for soda. She then turned her back on my mother and directed her attention solely on me, in a way that seemed a bit rude in the moment. I asked her to please direct her answer to my mother, to which she rolled her eyes. Wow.<br><br>Well, we were done at that point. Vida Verde made it very clear during the 15 minutes we were there that our business was not welcomed. So we paid for our drinks and took our business elsewhere, finding another restaurant where the service, food, and dining experience were stellar. I would not ever recommend Vida Verde to any of my friends.<br><br>I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because my classic margarita on the rocks was simple but enjoyable. Not enjoyable enough, however, to endure inexplicably poor attitudes.

Great place for a filling trio of tacos! The food was fresh, the salmon and carnitas tacos were fantastic. The environment is loud, but that is expected in a Taco and tequila establishment.

For the taste, sounds, and excitement of Mexico, this establishment spans three vibrant levels where the fun never runs out.<br><br>Translated from the Spanish meaning “green life," we stopped at Vida Verde located off of 55th St in Midtown West for a drink, but it definitely would satisfy margarita lovers and other guacamole aficionados.<br><br>Upon entering, for some of us as first-timers, the patrons feel relaxed and have a nice time characterized by playful colors and modern accents that evoke energy in every corner of the space, the street-level dining room, and the bar. They also have a spacious mezzanine and an outdoor rooftop patio, weather permitting.<br><br>There was a live DJ in an upbeat party atmosphere, with various birthday celebrations taking place. This did not detract from the bartender providing us with excellent service.<br><br>Luckily, there were three seats available at the foot in the bar. We decided on Margaritas and a Sangria. The drinks were excellent, well crafted, and perfect for the afternoon.<br><br>Well worth the visit!

Last Sunday I got to experience a solo bottomless brunch. When I arrived around 12:30pm I expressed seating for 1 but was guided to the bar but realizing that bottomless brunch was for tables only. Luckily around that time the place was not busy at all as they just opened at 12pm but most tables had reserved signs. I was then moved to a table where I waited quite a long time for my waiter to come. Bartender saw me waiting and got my server, Luke, who overall was great a fellow artist. He was attentive on my need for refills which makes it worth every dollar.<br><br>Entree is separate from the bottomless drinks. You are looking at $60 min.<br><br>I got the burrito bowl with carnitas and it was quite heavy which made me happy. For drinks I had the Mimosa but you can switch between 5 options. I tried the margarita but after 3/4 mimosas that marg was super strong to the point where I decided to switch back to the mimosa without finishing it.<br><br>Also noticed the table next to me were either influencers/content creators and had the attention of I believe the manager. Would’ve been nice to see him make rounds around the restaurant.<br><br>Im debating on returning this Sunday with my colleagues that will be around 8-10 people.<br><br>Overall everything was great but a bit of a slow start.

This place went viral based off the drinks and the brunch atmosphere. I must say, everything you see that's viral take it with a grain of salt.<br><br>I will take ownership of the fact that, the birthday party seating amount was changed from 8 to 11 people. However, this was confirmed with the staff prior to arriving and they said they were okay with accommodating the large party. If they could not, they should have said so.<br><br>Food: Extremely small portions, overpriced and lacking flavor. We ordered tacos, and it was size of the bottom of a red solo cup, not even double tortilla, for a price point of $20 plus. I had steak over fries, I did not know they literally meant cut up steak over shoestring fries. What an absolute rip off for $27.00. Wings were ordered and they tasted like they were turning bad, we sent them back. Food is mediocre and lacking flavor, expensive for such small portions and just overall a disappointing experience. We had to get food after.<br><br>Tables/Seating: They squeezed in a table of 12 people on a tabletop of 3 tables. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked that they add a table or split the party to which the manager who appeared to be Irish kept saying he didn't have tables. I informed him they were getting paid regardless, so fix the problem, as we were sitting on top of each other. Sitting on stools with no backing, super uncomfortable, not to mention, we were by the door and the draft was cold, windy, coming through this heavy curtain that was useless.<br><br>Customer Service: Our server we had was rude, the manager was not polite, lacking customer service front of the house expertise, no sense of apologies for their shortcoming and the hostess is even more useless. I asked for a manager, she mentioned, she already addressed the issue with a guest from the party, I informed her this was not my question and my issue went above her pay grade. We had an issue with the bill and the server said she wasn't in "the mood" to deal with it. In addition to rushing us, walking away from the table when questions are asked, just overall disgusting with her attitude. We asked to remove her 20% automatic gratuity, as this is an option, so we could leave what we wanted.<br><br>Drinks: After 2 drinks, it becomes nauseating tasting the artificial flavor from the mimosas. I didn't understand why we paid for bottomless and instead of leaving the pitchers on the table with such a large party, server kept coming back, delayed. They tried forcing everyone to drink at the table, which how could you, if not everyone drinks and you have drivers? Nice little lawsuit on deck with this one.<br><br>Stay away from this location, they cram you into a small establishment, with tacky customer service and disgusting food for a price point which isn't reasonable at all. The manager, Irish male, dismissive, goes back and forth and I'm not really sure who's in charge of this puppet show. There are so many other locations in midtown and LES where you can get a better experience and bang for your buck.

We had a great time and lots of fun. We were a large group, and the drinks were strong and good. The appetizers were delicious. I really liked that they allowed us, and my group really enjoyed ourselves, and we didn't feel rushed. Also, the dessert was good

Vida Verde is such a vibe!<br>The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun, and the service really made the experience. Luke was an amazing server super attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time.<br><br>Shoutout to Daiyyah as well for the free shots, which was such a nice surprise and really added to the fun. The staff here genuinely makes you feel welcome.<br><br>Definitely recommend if you’re looking for great food, great drinks, and even better service. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent food, great drinks! Everything is reasonably priced for midtown Manhattan. My friend and I walked in on a Thursday night without a reservation and got a spot at the bar. Great time! There is also a rooftop.

Vida Verde Tequila Bar is such a vibe. I had the chicken bowl and tacos. Everything was incredibly flavorful and tasted fresh. The drinks were just as impressivE. They were well balanced and refreshing.<br>The service was another highlight. The servers were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. On top of that, the space itself is absolutely beautiful. The colorful decor makes the place pop, and the DJ set the perfect mood, adding great energy to the experience.<br>Overall, Vida Verde is the perfect spot for great food, excellent drinks, and an upbeat, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

A high end contemporary atmosphere and the food was full of flavor. I like their salmon tacos and arrechera (skirt steak marinated in beer). The restaurant has a party vibe in the evening and a rooftop patio with taquila bar. The menu indicates options for vegan, gluten fee, and dairy free. Great drinks, cocktails, and service. They do have a dress code, so beware if you show up looking like riffraff.

The place was a good spot for a brunch, I wish the tables had a bit more space for two so we can fit the dishes. The wings and empanadas were really good, my favorite was the Al pastor tacos, Birria was a bit underwhelming so I recommend the fish/ shrimp options, Al pastor, or steak. The margaritas were good as well I got the passionfruit, overall not bad we came for a quick bite and they were able to seat us quickly which was nice! Very loud with the music so not a place to chill on the weekends, I am sure it is more relaxed on weekdays, deff a place to come for brunch to get lit and enjoy your time

This was my first time visiting Vida Verda on a Sunday evening and the music was everything you need to enjoy a night.<br><br>Our server Jack was wonderful and very well attentive. My group and I enjoyed nachos and two pitches (a sangria & margarita). I enjoyed my time and will certainly return!

Solid spot for cheap taco night and margarita pitchers! The drinks aren't as strong but they are cheap. The tacos are well flavored and spicy, but I've had better in the city. I recommend this place with a group for easy drinks and talking, but not necessarily date nights! Also it can get quite loud with the music.
