The restaurant is a bit small, and the tables are quite close to each other, so if you come during rush hour, expect to wait a little for a table. However, the staff were all Chinese and very nice — honestly friendlier than many Chinese restaurants I’ve tried in the U.S.

The food was really good and flavorful without being too salty like american food. I’d give the food quality a 10/10. The only small downside was that the roasted chicken was a bit dry, but overall, it was still a great.

Found this place with a quick Google search not knowing where to eat with so many options around the neighborhood. Wait at first was 30 minutes we got lucky with five minute wait for a table of two. This place can be very busy so book ahead if you have a big party.
Limited beer and alcohol options, but they were good. The food came out within 15 minutes of ordering and it was amazing. The service is impeccable. Great staff walked around to make sure everybody is being taken care of and it is not annoying. One of the best places in Chinatown.

We arrived just before noon on a recent Friday and were seated immediately. The restaurant started to get busy shortly after.

We were pleasantly surprised by the extensive lunch menu. We ordered the Fried salt & pepper shrimp and the Braised beef ribs in black pepper sauce from the lunch specials, and the Pea shoots sautéed with garlic from the dinner menu.

The pea shoots were tender and the beef ribs were very flavorful. However, the salt and pepper shrimp were prepared as deep fried shrimp balls and a bit bland; we were expecting the traditional shell-on style with plenty of salt and pepper.

Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but our interactions with other staff members were less positive. Overall, we found the meal to be a great value for lunch.

The salt and pepper chicken wings are a must!! This is my 5th or 6th time here and I take all my friends and family visiting. This time we had beef chow fun and garlic chicken and it was delicious. We love the complimentary tea too. This place usually has a wait but it moves fast depending on the day. The staff is very sweet and attentive.

Visited here with kids and niece. We like the food. Appetizers and main meal was brought at the same time. Duck was the best. Beef and broccoli- usual . Honey shrimp was also great.
We didn’t made a reservation, but were seats fast. Something that I didn’t like , it’s I felt like as soon as we were almost done with our plate - it was taken away.

We went for Chinese New Year Eve dinner, so many people waiting for tables. We had reservations and we still waited 40 minutes. The manager & hostess came over to apologize. The food was so good, especially the peking duck, garlic chicken and the pan fried flounder. Will definitely be back.

Came to Uncle Lou in celebration of Lunar New Year and food here is always perfect and spot on every time I dine here! This is one of the most popular spot in all of Chinatown, with a line that is constantly out the door (believe me, it’s definitely worth the wait!!).

Their Cantonese style food is always a classic, and the dim sum here is definitely my favorite! Highly recommend trying their rice noodles and dumplings! The decor and atmosphere here is also very warm and welcoming, definitely great to come with both family and friends. Definitely brings back a lot of memories of having family style Chinese food growing up!

Can’t wait to come back and try something new from their extensive menu of Chinese food next time!!

Excellent food! Long wait times, but worth it. I like how they gave us a free pot of green tea. I ordered the pork dumpling, garlic beef with scallions, crab fried rice (I think I would get without crab next time), and the eggplant was great and so was the bok choy

Warm, inviting atmosphere and very friendly staff make this a great little spot to stop for yummy traditional Cantonese food in downtown Chinatown. Highly recommend the Peking duck and scallops in black pepper sauce! Prices are very reasonable and everything is wonderful quality in a nice atmosphere. 🥟 🦆

Amazing food and service! Thank you Larry for making our day with delicious Dungeness crab. Everything was great. We also got Singaporean noodles, dim sum dishes and Peking duck! Kudos to the chef and staff. We will be back again - next time king crab!

The food was good and the duck amazing. 🦆 Love the vibe and the place, only thing I wasn't happy about was that they forgot to bring my chicken fried rice and the wait for seating was almost 1 hour. ⏳ It gets full, which I get, but still gotta watch the service. Other than that, food was great!

Response from the owner

We’re truly sorry for the missed fried rice. That’s not the experience we aim to deliver, even on our busiest nights. Your feedback is heard and shared with the team. Thank you

Delicious food that exceeded expectations! Succulent, well-spiced, tender, moist Peking duck; delicately flavored and perfectly cooked seafood crispy noodles with fresh shrimp, scallops, squid and cuttlefish; fresh, meaty fish in a tasty ginger, scallion soy sauce. The dining room was tastefully decorated with well-spaced tables. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes. A new find for us - we look forward to returning!

This place is famous for a reason. It’s always crowded and there’s usually a wait but well worth it.

The food comes out fast and the portions are massive. Always delicious and plenty left over. We were three and shared the Eggplant in Yuxiang Sauce, Singapore Chow Mei Fun and General Tso’s Chicken. The waiter was great and helped us with subs since we are gluten free.

There is a tiny bar up front but they usually sit people there to eat.

Wonderful meals. It's worth the walk. Service was alright, our server didnt really get what we want (slice ginger. Someone was sick). Other than that everything was good. -9% when paying cash.

Ended up at this restaurant as after the marathon we realised we wouldn't make our earlier reservation and this was a great find!

We walked in and as a party of 4 we were sat quickly, orders taken and food served without a wait time that felt bothersome. It was a full house and short staffed but they did well.

Loved the food, decor and fastness of everything, which came out hot! I'd recommend the seasome chicken, General Tsao's chicken and the prawn and spinach dumplings 😋

I will come again👍🏾
