Always enjoy a visit to Trader Joe’s - staff are friendly and helpful, the produce is fresh and there’s a good selection of decently priced groceries. A public service announcement that this particular outlet on Broadway is closed from May 17 and undergoing renovations till further notice.

Update 4/8/26

Had an errand to run in the area. Love this Trader Joe’s location. Needed to get the ingredients to try making a kale salad at home for the first time. I am going to try pomegranate seeds, or dried cherries instead of dried currants. Had some difficulty finding dried currants.

Would like to learn how to make a healthy version of soy ginger sweet and spicy vinaigrette. Did not have time to make the salad dressing personally. Opted for an organic store brand at another store. Despite the store being very busy. The lines, move fast!

This store will be closing for renovations on April 17th, and will be closed 3-4 months.

Thank you Eko for great service. Always love the value.

Trader Joe’s 72nd Street is a convenient location to all means of public transportation.

The staff are all super friendly. The prices are good, with an excellent selection of produce and grocery needs.

The lines are always super long, but they do move fast. I do not recommend visiting during peak hours on weekends, it gets very busy with very long lines.

World's busiest Trader Joe's CONFIRMED! I found what I needed quickly, had fun with shopping cart escalator (only for carts and humans take the adjacent escalator) but then the checkout line....two lines, wrapping around half the store! However, with 20+ checkout stations, that team zooms people through! This store will be missed during renovation.

•One of the busiest grocery stores Ive been to in Manhattan.
•Lots of sale items, and good deals on fruits, vegetables, and basic goods.
•Lines are very long so allot extra time for that. Went there on a Tuesday morning and was surprised to see it that busy.

I never leave out empty handed! My go-to store because of the variety of tasty items. (There is one change that has been made in TJ's that greatly limits my shopping experience. The closing of the restrooms! I do understand why the change was needed due to the time the staff has to maintain the area.) At every visit to the store, I will buy one new item to try for the first time. It has been a pleasure to visit each time! ♡

I was on crutches with a torn meniscus. An elderly woman approached me and asked if I knew that I could go to the head of the line. I was skeptical, but since I was in pain decided to try it. The person directing in front was very helpful and even asked if a cashier that was further away was ok or did I want someone closer. Amazing customer service.

Absolute favourite grocery store.

Saw a kid fully begging their mum for the veggie stick snacks, immediately got jealous, bought them myself. Zero regrets. 10/10. Highly recommend 🧚🏻‍♀️✨

This is the busiest Trader’s Joe in the world. If you want to help them keep their record, shop there 😁 The manager and the staff are helpful, the cashier was somewhat overwhelmed. I love their artwork.

This is the busiest TJs I’ve ever been to. The weekends are super packed and the long winds around the entire store all the way to the end. On a full capacity day they will have about 30 workers on the cash registers so the line moves at a decent pace.

We tried coming again on a weekday morning thinking most people would be at work…. NOPE, the lines were STILL the same 😬😅 guess everyone was thinking the same thing.

Stock wise, they usually run out of meats because of the heavy traffic. Snacks are in good supply though. These multigrain crackers are on crack!

Restroom: they have now closed off the restrooms to the public and are only available to staff.

Cashiers routinely somehow decide that the items in my cart are no good - apparently my chicken looked unsafe for consumption, then another day, it was raspberries. By doing so, all they're accomplishing is throwing out perfectly good food (none of the items that they pointed out as looking bad were actually "bad"). Please just focus on scanning my items. No small talk or unsolicited safety concerns are needed.

Store is underground over two floors.
The queue can be quite long. Sometimes one line goes way faster than the other which can be annoying.
Some really friendly staff.
Good selection of products!

The lines can get really long at some times, but it goes by pretty quickly. Last time I went, they had a rule where each customer could only get one carton of eggs, but I’m not sure if that’s still a thing or not. They have great variety of flowers for valentine’s day too.

Good selections of grocery and products, usually a long wait to buy your things. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Atmosphere sometimes is super hectic and sometimes calm. Overall pretty good store for all your needs.
Tip: if you bring a second person with you have them wait on line so when your done shopping around go find the person and you don't have to stand on long lines ever. Works for me.
