Came because of Seinfeld and was worried it might be a tourist trap (crowded, overpriced, etc.). I couldn’t have been more wrong. The food was genuinely very good, and the place felt like a true local diner despite its fame. This was actually my second visit. Earlier this year I stopped by for a chicken menu that was also excellent, so it was nice to see that the quality wasn’t a one-off.

The service was excellent, especially from the Hispanic server who looked after us- she was spectacular. My Eggs Benedict were OK, but I tried several dishes from around the table and they were all outstanding. The cheeseburger was particularly delicious.

I don't know why people were giving this place tough reviews. Great breakfast spot. Had a bacon egg and cheese and really enjoyed it. The espresso is in my opinion a B+ . Decent place to get breakfast. No complaints.

Tom’s Restaurant was at the top of my bucket list as a Seinfeld fan for 3 decades. The iconic front for Monk’s Diner from the show was everything I wanted it to be and more! The staff were amazing, quick, kind and fun. The coffee was classic, booths were comfy, super cute bar top, and it has an adorable outside patio on a great side of town. Lots of memorabilia from the show and epic photo opportunities for fans. We both ordered BIG Salads and they were fresh and fantastic! Highly recommend for great food and atmosphere. Loved their fries, SO yum! Lots of menu options, yada, yada, yada. 🤣

Let’s be real, you’re not coming to Tom’s for the food, you’re coming here because of the show. And while Tom’s certainly caters to the fans by having a number of pictures of the cast, it’s functionally just a typical NYC diner. The Lumberjack was pretty decent

If you are a fan of classic television, Tom's Restaurant is an absolute must-visit in New York City. This iconic spot is famous for serving as the exterior of the diner in Seinfeld. While the interior doesn't perfectly match the show since those scenes were filmed on a Hollywood soundstage, stepping inside still offers a quintessential, nostalgic American diner experience.

The restaurant is wonderfully decorated with genuine Seinfeld memorabilia, including authentic autographs from the original cast members. Even Jerry Seinfeld himself has visited!

Beyond the incredible pop culture history, the food and service truly stand on their own. The staff, along with the owner, are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home. I highly recommend saving room for dessert because their cheesecake is easily one of the best I have ever had. Additionally, the coffee is surprisingly excellent for a traditional New York diner.

Another major plus is their late-night hours, making it a great spot to grab an evening bite. Beware that the surrounding neighborhood can feel a little unsettled late at night, but that is entirely outside of the business's control. Overall, this is a fantastic establishment that delivers both on its legendary TV status and its high-quality food and service. Highly recommended!

You will come because you know it from Seinfeld and you will be delighted to discover that the food is also great. We came during rush hour but got the table immediately. Staff is really friendly, nice and helpful and food is awesome

Had dinner at Tom’s, the food was not great. I think paco is cooking again… The corn beef was dry, soup was salty, the Jerry salad w chicken didn’t taste fresh. However! The desert was great. If I ever go back it will be just for the desert. Shakes, ice cream. I went one other time during the day and the food was fine. Might have been just the time of day. The wait staff had some body odor. The place felt like they don’t care. Needs some TLC. Was hoping for the mackinaw peaches, but it wasn’t to be. Next time try a nicer place like Mendy’s.

As a European I was yearning for a great Diner style experience, so what better than to try out the famous Seinfeld joint ? Recommended to me by a New Yorker.
They serve really excellent breakfasts. The poached eggs are marvellous. Great pancakes. Which I covered in maple syrup.
Friendly and efficient service.
I can’t wait to go back tomorrow.

I had a late lunch here. I think many people come for the experience, as the exterior was used as the site of the restaurant in Seinfeld. It is a fun New York joint with people packed in and a lot of yelling. You really need to come and be a part of history.I had coffee (why is diner coffee so bad), one fried egg, toast, potatoes, and hash for $17, which is pretty good for NYC prices.

I had medium expectations, I thought it would just be a gimmick because it's the Seinfeld restaurant. But the food was awesome. I had a bacon omelette. The breakfast potatoes are bomb. It's a nice atmosphere and the service was great.

One of the bucket list locations during my vacation due to Seinfeld.
The manager there was such a friendly and talkative person to everyone that came in.
He even went out of his way to go downstairs to see if they had a Seinfeld t-shirt in a large. Unfortunately they never however was worth dropping in!

This place is super iconic because of Seinfeld, but the inside isn’t really what you’d expect — it’s different, but still feels authentic and really cool. It’s got a chill, college vibe, probably because it’s so close to Columbia University. The food was good, the service was nice, and overall it was just a really fun spot to check out.
