I'd like to give this mall more than one star but I just can't. I don't eat at any of the restaraunts so they don't in any way change my review. However, a lot of the stores they have are stores I shop at and I always feel as if the associates in the stores judge you by how you look and are rude. No, I don't constantly wear designer clothes and am very laid back in the way I dress. Don't assume because a person is not dressed to the nines, that they can't afford something. I'll stick to the city and deal with public transportation. The only store I ever have a good experience in is L'Occitane. They are the only reason I would return to this mall.

Most beutiful mall ever! Most malls are clean but not pretty this one is beutiful and clean. It is never crowded and quiet. They have a large AMC and Cheesecake factory, sweetgreen, and others. The Barnes and noble is also nice. I had a great time!

The The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack is easily one of the most beautiful and relaxing malls in Bergen County. From the moment you walk in, the place feels elegant and upscale, with bright open spaces, stylish décor, and a calm atmosphere that makes shopping enjoyable rather than stressful.

What really stands out is the incredible mix of luxury brands and great dining options. You can browse high-end stores like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and Ferragamo, then take a break at one of the amazing restaurants on Restaurant Row or catch a movie at the AMC dine-in theater. It’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon shopping, grabbing dinner, or just strolling around.

Another thing I love is how clean and well-maintained everything is. The mall never feels overcrowded, so you can take your time exploring the shops and enjoying the experience. Whether you’re shopping for something special or just looking for a relaxing place to walk around, The Shops at Riverside always delivers.

If you’re in the Hackensack or Paramus area, this mall is definitely a must-visit. Sophisticated, convenient, and full of great places to shop and dine—an easy five stars!

Lots of restaurants, AMC dine-in theater, Barnes and Nobles bookstore. Very clean, spacious, and airy mall. I don't remember which stores are at the mall, except Pandora, because I come here mainly to the movie theater.

I haven't dined at all the restaurants here, but the parking lot is always crowded.

01-31-2026
I dined at TRUE FOOD KITCHEN today. Very busy here in a Saturday afternoon (especially on a cold winter day 🥶)! That's a good sign for the restaurant! The food is DELICIOUS and the service is great! I'm coming back with some friends.

The Shops at Riversides provide mostly high ends brands in the mall. Pottery Barn, Jimmy Choo, LV etc. The price range is on the higher end.

There are also many restaurants like Cheesecake Factory and True Food Kitchen. There’s a ramen store coming in soon. In addition, you can enjoy some entertainment like AMC in the mall. Barnes and Nobles is another great place to visit for books and small items.

Overall a great place to hang out for an afternoon or weekends. The staff are nice. It’s very clean and spacious. Decoration is always sparkly.

The Shops at Riverside is honestly such a beautiful mall — definitely one of my favorites! It’s got this classy, relaxing vibe, and everything inside is super clean and well-kept. Shopping here just feels nice. I love that there’s a good mix of high-end stores and more affordable ones, so there’s something for everyone. The dining options are great too — perfect for grabbing a bite after shopping or just hanging out. Whether I’m here to shop, eat, or just wander around, it’s always such a pleasant experience. Love this place!

Big upscale mall - mostly empty other than the restaurants. Not 100% sure how long it will last - parking on many levels and around the mall. it used to be a lot more busy according to others but as time moves on, they continue to lose business to the Westfield Garden State and the American Dream.

A little more upscale feeling... until I went to the touchscreen map and nothing worked. Lovely spot, completely empty on a weekday afternoon, but broken tech? I mean, you have to do better.

Went to grab food at Houston's instead of trying to find whatever to shop for since the map was busted. Saw pretty much no one inside shopping... wonder if it does better on the one day of the weekend it can be open (since it's in Hackensack, blue laws keep the non-food shops closed).

Response from the owner

Hi Hank, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you found it challenging to navigate our mall. We'll let our maintenance team know about the touchscreen map. If you have any additional suggestions on how we can make future visits more enjoyable, please contact us at https://www.simon.com/contact. Thank you again for sharing this with us.

Very nice, upscale shopping center with good restaurants and a Barnes and Nobels. Most malls are fading. This one is thriving.

This is a nice place for shopping, quiet, relaxing and a good selection of high end stores. I usually come here at least to get a latte at the Barnes and Noble. My only problem is that doors close early.

Beautiful place... when I left this place the sun had turned white due to the wildfires. I didn’t have much time here but they have many luxury stores. The people seem really decent here.

Absolutely beautiful shopping mall. High End, exclusive and stunning decor. The stores were well manned at front doors and the people were just going about their day. I came in from Detroit and we stopped to eat. I took a few minutes to explore. I definitely will be back💜

One of my favorite mall to go to for a walk. It’s nice and beautiful and full of restaurants and it has a B&N bookstore. They tried very hard to make this mall nice and safe. Their restrooms are very clean. I’ll recommend anyone that will like to enjoy the easy shopping experience to come here.

Update: The indoor renovation has mostly completed and the mall is high class and elegant. Many mall security officers protect retail property, mall staff and shoppers. The only problem is some of the charging stations aren’t working and the outdoor areas still need more works to make it smooth and safe.
