Food was amazing! We had meetings in the area and needed to grab a quick bite. We'll, we will make it a point to come back. Leo, our server, was simply a delight. We hi estoy felt like he should just have a drink with us! He was kind, very entertaining, and impressively knowledgeable! He brought us a sample of his favorite beer that was so good, we had to order one as well! He truly went the extra mile and while the food was great, he is a big part of why we will be coming back. Thank you Leo for making what was supposed to be a quick bite, into a fine dining experience!

We had a wonderful experience at the Elgin! The location is perfect for grabbing dinner before seeing a show, within walking distance of many theaters in the district. The atmosphere is upscale, great for a business meeting or catching up with friends. Family friendly with a dynamic menu from bar foods to more formal entrees. Service was phenomenal. Everything we ordered, both food and drinks, were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Elgin! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and every part of our meal was fantastic.

A special shoutout to Leo, who provided exceptional service from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made our group feel genuinely welcome. Leo had great recommendations, checked on us at just the right times, and helped make our evening memorable.

If you’re looking for great food, a fun atmosphere, and outstanding service, The Elgin is a must-visit. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in NYC
Staff was able to get us a large table prior to reservation time to get us out of the rain between shows. Drinks were great, appetizers were amazing. We had the cheeseburger eggrolls, empanadas, haloumi fries, sliders, and salt and vinegar fries. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Following my Mother's Day tradition for the last five years, I took myself to a matinee show (The Fear of 13) and brunch or dinner. This 2026 day, I chose dinner at a spot within walking distance of the James Earl Jones theatre and a seemingly interesting selection.

I arrived and it was surprisingly empty. A few tables in the back, a group of adults drinking and chatting with kids (@ the bar, 🤷🏽♀️pourquoi?) and the Knicks game 4 on over the bar, so naturally I sat to watch the end of the demolition.

The french bartender was a bit standoffish (not a good trait for a bartender) and disinterested. Providing me with the basics. Anteways. I ordered a classic old-fashioned with Toki, a Japanese whiskey. Clearly not ordered often because the bottle was on a high shelf, that she still had to tippy toe just to assess the reach (not smart idea), before finally got the rolling ladder, built just for reaching, the reserve alcohol.

I had one drink, then ordered Chicken Samosas for a starter, asked said bartender for recommendation regarding the burger (cause I wanted short ribs, just not $45 worth) vs pasta. She said her preference of the French Onion Soup Burger, but I'm not a fan, so I ordered the Lamb burger which she stated, "alot of people like it". It came with fries and I ordered Charred Broccolini as my veggies. Unfortunately, no impactful seasoning on the meat and the broccolini was not charred. The best part of my meal was the french fries, the samosas and the last 5mins of the Knicks sweeping Philly!

In my attempt to say "I tried it" for the food/atmosphere, I ordered a second old-fashioned, (after first bartender stepped away) and just chilled as it t'waz drizzling outside and the local news was coming on.
Cutest spot near Rockefeller Center to hang out. Definitely reserve ahead of time! It was super busy and we were thankful we had already booked. Atmosphere is so nice. Dimly lit and variety of seating options. Food & drinks were very tasty! Gluten free options available. Tacos 10/10
Server was good.Good service. Ordered the salmon and I’m pretty sure it died twice. The fish came out gray and slightly burnt. Didn’t really taste like salmon so I assume they may have been caught from the pristine waters of the hudson. The apps were interesting. The bánh mì sliders were actually good… but you only get three for the price, which explains why people are fleeing New York. Pigs in a blanket were fine, but I think I had a similar taste from aldi. My girlfriend accidentally broke her glass by gently tapping it with the refill bottle. So bring a bandaid just in case. Luckily nobody was cut.
Found this place and stumbled in for dinner after skating at the Rockefeller center and was lucky enough to get a seat despite being busy. Very cozy and nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended it.
Awesome historic location and amazing staff. Our waiter was top notch and the food was incredible! The Wild Boar Chili, NY Strip, Rigatoni, pizza, Mac & cheese…all excellent. Also try the Golden Sunset (if you like mezcal) or the Hamilton (for gin lovers).
Overall it was a nice meal! The cheeseburger egg roll was my absolute favorite followed by the duck bao buns ! The tuna nachos were also decent. Pasta was a little bit too al dente but I took the rest to go and it was actually delicious the next day! As far as the French onion burger, it was decent as well. Our waitress was superb and the bar itself has a nice vibe. Would definitely come back again!
Tried the burgers and pizza here and everything was solid. The burger was juicy, the pizza was fresh, and the flavors were on point. The decor was nice and gave the place a good vibe. Overall, a chill spot and worth coming back to.
Great experience. The food was delicious, the Christmas decorations were brill. Very relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent. The waiters were terrifically attentive. The portion sizes were generous. A starter with the mains left us stuffed. The fish and chips had an interesting chili tartar sauce and well worth it. The French onion burger was decedent and delicious.
Went with my boyfriend on a Saturday night on a whim since we were in the area .
The inside is really nice if you like old looking bars . The restaurant is two levels, with bars on each floor which you can sit at (and I’m not sure but it seems like they do prefer to offer that to parties of two). They do have a coat rack on the second floor (couldn’t note one on the first since just passed by). The food was good. I really liked their fries that came with the burger it was excellent. I had their expresó martini was fine. We got there around 4pm and it was full but not packed within a few minutes it definitely picked up. It does look like they had outdoor seating but not sure how many people are willing to sit outside now that it’s cold. Definitely a place to check out if you’re looking for a place to eat are in the area .
We went to the Elgin on a recommendation from the bar tender at the Hard Rock Hotel to watch the baseball and it didn't disappoint.

The bourbon selection is fantastic and I had Peg Leg Porker, a Tennessee whiskey that we had when we went for dinner at the same named BBQ joint the other year, just brilliant.

The cocktails were well done too but that wasn't the best part.

We met the manager and had a wonderful discussion about how whiskeys ans bourbons differ around the country, he was very kind enough to give us samples on the house, and had a great time and a great conversation.

If you're looking for a bar in Manhattan that is relaxed, is well stocked and has excellent staff, then The Elgin is the place to go.
I sat at the bar during an early afternoon on a Sunday to have some solo time reading my book before heading to the airport!

I LOVED the French Onion soup. It was truly a standout in comparison to other French Onion soups I’ve had. The broccolini was very good! My drink was good!

My bartender was fine, but was hard to get ahold of and did not seem to be too interested in getting to me, despite the fact that I was one of two people at the long bar, and there were only a few tables who were seated. It wasn’t crowded, so this did surprise me a bit, but not the end of the world!

The ambience was simple and typical of what you expect from pubs, but still lovely! I really loved the building and its vibe! It managed to be cozy, as well as spacious and tidy! I liked it!

Overall, I’ll probably try a new place when I’m next in town rather than return, but I’m also glad I stopped in to The Elgin!
