Undeniably one of the best Greek restaurants Ive been to in a very long time. The drinks were amazing! Have their Sangria!!! Apps and dinner were great as well. Service was exceptional!

I have tried some other times this place also when they were in NYC. Taste was a lot better those days. Today I stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered calamari. But it came out very oily and the calamar itself was not tender. İ explained the situation and changed my order to grilled octopus. It was soft and tender. The prices gone up a lot. The location is very center of Astoria. Service was fast and nice. Thanks.

Best Greek family around. The food and atmosphere is amazing! If you've never been to Greece and want to know what it's like, visit this place and enjoy!

Years after we returned to find the restaurant had moved just one block down to a beautiful, more open location. The food is still fantastic, the service is even better, and the classic charm made noticeable to us. At the end of our dinner, my son accidentally broke a glass. The staff handled it noblely—they immediately cleared the area of any fragments and even replaced our complimentary desserts to ensure our safety. Truly a classical act.

Our favorite Greek Taverna in NYC !

2 locations in Queens (Both are excellent); in Astoria and Bayside.
The one in Astoria has also a patio, not in Bayside.

**They don’t accept reservations; usually around 45 minutes wait.

Always super satisfied after many visits.
Very authentic !

Only good words for that place.

And keep space for the desserts; they offer Galaktoboureko on the house… 😋

Upon our arrival in New York City, burdened by travel yet stirred by appetite, we resolved that our first act of consequence should be to dine well. My lady, with admirable decisiveness, declared a longing for Greek. Thus leading us to Taverna Kyclades in Astoria, a choice which proved most felicitous.

Astoria does not merely whisper of its culinary prowess; it proclaims it with a robust hum. Upon crossing the threshold of Kyclades, one finds precisely what was hoped for, though perhaps more than one’s nerves are prepared to settle: the establishment is filled to the rafters, echoing with a clamor that is strangely soothing. Plates clatter like musketry, and the waiters navigate the throng with a choreography so practiced one suspects they were born to the task. There is no affectation here, no modern nonsense, only a hall of souls gathered for the noble purpose of dining well and departing in high spirits.

Then, the offering from the seas makes its grand entrance.

The octopus arrived first, tender beyond all reasonable expectation, with edges pleasingly kissed by the grill. It did not announce itself. It did not require it. The branzino followed, whole and charred with expert conviction, finished with olive oil and lemon in the manner the Greeks have perfected over several thousand years of patient practice. Conversation paused, as it ought. The potatoes, which accompanied proceedings with quiet distinction, were enjoyed considerably by this correspondent, the lady, exercising her sovereign right to differ, declined them.

At the meal’s conclusion, a dessert appeared unbidden and unbilled. A generous gesture. We were, by this point, fullness having achieved a philosophical dimension and yet we applied ourselves to it. Partially. Respectfully. One does not entirely ignore such kindness, even when one’s capacity has been, shall we say, thoroughly exhausted.

First night in New York. Already, something had gone right.

The lady was correct. She generally is.

This place is absolutely amazing. We had a big party and ordered about 20 dishes. Everything was incredibly delicious. We got an amazing dessert too. The calamari is so great and the lemon potatoes are such a hit. Our party loved the squid and lobster, as well as the shrimp which had the perfect amount of smokiness. The service is very attentive as well! If you’re in the area you must go

The secret to excellent Greek food lies in a combination of high quality, fresh ingredients, seasoned well, and cooked with simple techniques that maximize flavor.
Kyclades has been around in Astoria for 30 years for a reason. Legendary Greek seafood. The new space is a nice upgrade. OK wine list although I wish they offered more wines by the glass including Albariño/Riesling/Pinot Noir. Also friendly, attentive staff, especially our waitress Julia today. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

Lemon potatoes, salad, stuff clams, calamari so delicious wow!

Food was served FAST, under 15 minutes. Prices reasonably for the portions and flavor. We were served a complimentary dessert at the end.

It was a busy evening yet the quality and service was great. Highly recommend.

Such a delicious meal!!!! The oysters were so fresh; all of their seafood is super fresh. The grilled octopus was cooked perfectly it was soft with a slightly crispy outside from being char grilled. It had a great char flavor paired with the olive oil and vinegar was perfect. The pork souvlaki was my favorite of the night. The pork was juicy and had great flavor. I really like their tzatziki it’s very fresh with lots of cucumber. The lamb chops were also pretty good. I don’t usually like lamb because it’s gamey but this wasn’t and it was also cooked perfectly. They also gave delicious bread with a mashed olive dip at the start and a custard baklava type dessert for free! 8.5/10

This is the place to get seafood. Very busy, but do t let that discourage you because at the end you'll be rewarded with some real, real fresh and delicious seafood. The octopus is simply fenomenal, the special combo seafood for two is amazing and the stuff filet of sole very tasty. All this complemented with a glass of sangria. Can't beat it. If you don't have reservation get ready to wait for at least 45 minutes, but it will be worth it.

octopus and whiting were some of the best I've had, and the seafood pasta was delicious. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, right down to the amazing olive oil on the table. The place has a great, bustling energy because it's always packed. Be prepared for a possible wait, but trust me, the meal you'll have makes it all worthwhile. Highly recommend!

We have been wanting to go here for a very long time, but just never quite made it. That was a mistake! They don't take reservations so we waited for a while. It was fine the area has a lot to see and do, so we walked around. We had the village salad, Kyclades special (seafood platter),grilled chicken, rice, and potatoes. There was only 2 of us, and enough food to feed 4! Each bite was better than the next! All the food was fresh and delicious, and reasonable! We will be going back a lot! Great Greek food!🇬🇷

We visited Taverna Kyclades and had a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable—every staff member, even those who weren’t our primary server, made sure we had everything we needed.

For appetizers, we enjoyed crab cakes with fried zucchini. For dinner, my husband had a white fish stuffed with crab meat, while I had a pasta dish featuring five types of seafood: octopus, mussels, clams, scallops, and shrimp. Every bite was full of flavor, and the portions were incredibly generous—we had to take half of our food home and enjoyed it for a couple more days!

Overall, the combination of excellent service, delicious food, and large portions made this a truly delightful dining experience.
