This is my favorite grocery in all of Brighton beach with a huge selection of prepared foods mainly of Eastern European and Central Asian origin. Cleanliness and presentation is very important to the owners and staff .
If I lived in South Brooklyn there would be no reason to cook again with the endless variety of prepared food choices , desserts ,breads, meats and cheeses available.
The Q train is just outside for extra convenience.

I honestly don’t know why is this store so popular. Soup for one person now costs 7 dollars. You can sit in the restaurant for this price….recently my husband bought organic raspberries that were aspoiled for about 5 dollars, and olivie salad was spoiled as well They claim that they have fresh food every day…I don’t think so. Olivie salad had to be sitting for at least two days there. My stomach starting to hurt after eating this and not tasty Olivie salad at all…(: I don’t ever want to eat it now. It became very unpleasant experience going there lately. You try to pick some food and besides all the people who shop there, they have new people who are constantly adding and cleaning staff there and they are constantly in your way. They should find a moment to do this and not interfere with people all the time. So frustrated and unpleasant experience shopping there now.
Tashkent Supermarket in Brighton Beach is easily one of my favorite places to shop. Anytime I’m in the area I make sure to stop by, even though it’s a long drive from Queens, it’s always worth it.

They have an amazing selection of halal meats at very reasonable prices, and the quality is always great. The produce is fresh, and they regularly bring in seasonal items which I really enjoy.

The deli section is also really good with plenty of options. There is a location in Queens, but it’s much smaller and doesn’t have the same wide selection as this one.

Overall, this spot never disappoints and I’ll definitely keep coming back.
Tashkent on Brighton — the kind of place you walk into “just for a minute”… and end up staying much longer 🥟

If you’ve ever been to Brighton Beach, you’ve probably heard about Tashkent Supermarket. The selection of prepared food here is huge: plov, samsa, shashlik, salads, fresh pastries — it all feels like stepping into a big homemade celebration.

The hot food section is especially tempting. The aromas alone make it impossible to walk past without stopping. And you can also find many hard-to-find products from across the former USSR that are rarely available in regular American supermarkets.

It’s not just the Russian-speaking community that loves this place — people come here from all over New York for authentic Central Asian flavors and fresh baked goods.

Have you been to Tashkent Supermarket on Brighton Beach? What’s the first thing you usually grab there? 👀
This supermarket is amazing it's the best supermarket in Brooklyn New York!! Literally they have so much variety of salads and hot foods they even have a gyro stand you can customize your shawarma to your liking. The lamb and beef is amazing and so is the chicken. You can get it in a wrap lavash style a pita or in a platter. People here are so friendly and the line goes by fast don't worry. There are so many variety of cakes and pastries it's so overwhelming and everything is just delicious!! They make their food fresh with love and are very hard working. Mainly cuisines here are eastern European and central Asian. Their plov is so good oh my goodness everything is just amazing. The only downside is it gets very crowded especially during peak hours and gets very overwhelming to shop and too many people are shopping and it gets annoying. You have to come at a good time that's all. Everything is halal and clean. Come here you won't regret it. People who gave negative reviews I don't know why this store has everything what more do you need? Thank you to Tashkent I am so glad they opened such a good supermarket!
As I already wrote about this store, but in a different location, everything is cool, everything is wonderful, everything is delicious, fast, beautiful, but they are great Prices are a little higher than usual, but you pay for the service and beauty, and you won't regret it, really, here in Brighton.Very, very crowded. Well, as you can imagine, one of the best stores in the area. But they're doing a great job expanding. The owner is certainly cool, or whoever it is, I don't know.
Clean atmosphere, fancy take out and fresh food and pastries, halal meat, what about vegetables and fruits…. High quality.
Cashiers are fantastically fast and friendly.
O M G… i feel like i want to be your next door neighbor 🥳😏 and there’s a lot of vegan options too.
This place works like a well-oiled machine!

It's well stocked and clean. They have great selection of ready to eat dishes and fresh bread!

I'd highly recommend the pumpkin bread, borscht and Korean carrot salad. The lady at the soup counter can be a little grumpy while trying to maintain order at the line. The checkout process is very efficient. You'll definitely leave with more delicious things than you had initially planned to buy so bring an extra bag.
Tashkent Supermarket: The Salads and Giros Winner
This is my favorite Tashkent Supermarket. I've visited many of this chain but this one is the winner. It has so many salads and the chicken giros (Giros are paid when served) are delicious. I also like to get the low salt California Feta cheese and the very low-fat turkey bacon, not always available. The fruits are very clean, fresh, and great prices. The meat dept. has very tender chicken and tasty salmon. In the bakery section, the cheesecake and carrot cakes are huges and tasty. Coffee is very strong. They also have fresh orange juice you make yourself. They have everything you can think of. My favorites are the salads. You choose how much to take as the price goes by pound. If you just want snacks, you have plenty fresh ones to choose from. Love their walnuts, pistachios, and pumpkin seeds. No time to cook and want fish? Have some awesome baked fish filet, salmon, or shrimps! Or go for Rotisserie chicken. I try to control my impulses but always end up with at least 10 salads, lol. That's how good they are. My humble opinion.
On the bread section, the bagels are 99 cents, croissants buttery and tasty, and muffins are nice and big. If you see a long line, as always, don't worry; it goes super fast. The best time to go is morning never at night after 8:30—a lot of the salads and hot food are gone, and so is the chicken giro, finding only the lamb or beef. Be prepared to save money but you will be buying a lot. Nice clean and very organized. Everything gets replaced very frequently and constantly cleaning and organizing. A must place to visit.
Ok. This is weirdly some of the best food I’ve had in nyc. Whoever is behind the counter at this grocery store deserves fame and fortune. Holy moly.
My favs were: beef samsa, chicken olive salad (Russian salad), napoleon cake, syrniki (all flavors, they’re so good).
All the baked goods/ cakes look insane. They have some gluten free desserts too!!
The prices are decent for prepared food. They also have some random Korean foods (kimchi, cucumbers, mushrooms).
Tashkent Supermarket in Brighton Beach is a must-visit for its legendary Samarkand-style plov—rich, flavorful, and generously meated. The hot bar is a feast of Central Asian dishes, from manti to shawarma, while the butcher section offers fresh, well-priced halal meats. A true Brighton Beach gem for food lovers.
Really impressed by the buffet at supermarket Tashkent on Brighton. Everything was fresh and tasty. The line looks long but moves fast. Great variety of hot food and groceries. Had herring under a fur coat, it was so good. The vatrushka was fresh and soft. Kefir was a good price. And the pirozhki were just delicious and a good price
I'm very happy than during my New York visit I went to this place. Excellent variety. Priced well. Outstanding selection and quality of prepared food. A lot of restaurants can't make that good. I got lamp kebab , meat ball soup, and come back later for cabbage rolls, also bought quail. Excellent! It's very easy to find, located right next to the subway station.
Huge for a typical Tashkent. Now I prefer the smaller place closer to me. It’s just too much. I don’t eat the prepared food they serve. Best meat selection thou.

The bread section is okie. Price is good but is it the best taste or well baked? Not really. I would pay a little more for better.

It’s good to try different grocery selection and this place got everything for you. Soup to fish to meat to pretty much everything.

Definitely might come back for a cake thou.
Wow. This place truly puts every American supermarket to shame. The hot food bar is exceptional. The little corner bakery counter also looked amazing but was too crowded so I didn't get to try anything. The sheer volume of customers pretty much ensures that what you're getting is fresh but def be prepared for lots of crowding and resulting anxiety.
