We were there when they first opened back in the late 90’s. We were thrilled to go back and visit their larger location. The food was as delicious as what we remember it to be. You can taste the pride and love the chef puts in her food. The owner welcomed us warmly and let us have the table even though our friends were late. We appreciated not feeling rushed by the staff. It was a wonderful night in a beautiful place and neighborhood. We will definitely come back when we are in town. Oh and get their book. It has great recipes and lovely pictures.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for at least 7 years and I kept coming across it online in various features. I ended up in the area by chance, so I figured it was finally time to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of dishes to really give it a try based on waiter recommendations. The menu didn’t have some stuff I wanted to try. Someone else mentioned that they changed the menu.

Unfortunately the food was generally bland and overly acidic (others have also mentioned this). It was hard to enjoy as a result. Though the kibbie was the best I’ve ever had and the lamb chops were good but ultimately a very small amount of meat (1/3 of them was extra tiny and there was a decent amount of fat for that cut) for more than $40. I would’ve preferred a cheaper cut and more of it.

The waiter raved about the hummus and babba, but they were honestly mediocre and a bit sour. The Brussels sprouts could have been good if not for the excessive amount of acid. The eggplant and lamb lasagna was pretty bland. The eggplant seemed boiled though it looked a bit browned. The falafel were bland. The rice/noodle mixture was okay but I’ve had better. The potatoes were just okay though unseasoned. The tea seemed to be watered down.

The service was generally good, but there were some mishaps.

I was not told that I had to order dessert with the kitchen closing, so I did not get to try the kanafe that I was looking forward to trying.

I took the leftovers home to my husband and he agreed with my assessments (before I said anything). He had even more trouble with the high level of acid. I’ve been to Ayat/Albadawi (same owners/similar menu) several times and that was drastically better. There are people who like acidic food, so this could work for them. I might get the kibbie again, but that’s about it.

From the atmosphere, to the service, to the insanely flavorful, delicious food, this place is a must. Highly recommend the fried cauliflower and the kibbeh balls, but you can’t go wrong no matter what you get! 5 stars!

Trekked to Brooklyn to enjoy some amazing Palestinian cuisine. Lamb was dropping off the bone and every dish we ordered was finger licking delicious.

This place never disappoints. I’ve been here with my friends before, and this time I came with my husband. I tried to bring him for Valentine’s Day, but it was already fully booked, so I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially for important dates. We went during the week, and my husband absolutely loved it.🤗
The food was delicious. I always recommend starting with the eggplant Napolitano appetizer and the mini shawarmas. The Figtini cocktail🍸 and the Harissa 🥥dessert were amazing 😋 The place feels very warm and cozy, with soft Arabic music playing in the background. The service from everyone was exceptional. I 100% recommend it🔥👌🏻
Sent from my iPhone

A wonderful mediterranean restaurant offering family style set meals including a variety of mezzes and your protein of choice. Go with a group to sample different entrees. The atmosphere is relaxed, quiet and conducive to conversation.

Early 6pm dinner and only 3 other tables occupied. Inattentive, but friendly staff, left quite an impression. It was the bartender that noticed us waiting and signaled the staff. Mezcal was great and Shepard beer was good too. Warm Nusakhan was tasty. Baked kibbie was simple. Chicken curry decent giant dish. Flavors were 3 out of 5. Will we return? No unfortunately. Maybe we'll try their sister location.

Most resturant reviews are about the food, service, and atmosphere, and rightfully so. But occassionally there is a restaurant that goes above and beyond. They realize the value of their relationship to the neighborhood and the community. Tanoreen is such a resturant. The food, service, and atmosphere are all exceptional. We do not live in NY but were visiting our kids that do. I was treating dinner for 7 of us. I did not realize that there is an automatic gratuity for that party size. I tipped $70 on top of the included $68 gratuity and did not realize it until the day after. When I called I was told the credit card billing was already submitted. They offered to refund the $70 in cash. However we were leaving and couldn't get back to the restaurant. They held the money in an envelope for my son to pick up a week later. Now that is customer service! Thank you!

The best kanafeh in NYC - worth the trek to brooklyn - you should go!

Other dishes that were great include the grilled meats, Fetti with extra harissa, and musakhan. Get the labne it's also so good! But the cocktails are not it - but really this is a Palestinian restaurant...they're not cocktail experts.

Just went for restaurant week and it was great! The food was delicious and plentiful. Loved the fried cauliflower. It was tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce was also very flavorful and creamy. I ordered the lamb shanks was tender and paired very well with the yogurt dip. Finished it off with the infamous kunefeh. Very cheesy, hearty and super filling. Ate a bit but had to take most of it home. Very large portions. Thumbs 👍

This place was there on my list for a while and finally went there to celebrate my birthday. We drove down from Philly and called a few hours in advance and made the reservation. It was easy to find street parking. We were seated promptly and the food arrived quickly too. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was great and the owners were very warm. Definitely worth a try.

So good! We loved this place! The sliders are such a cool idea and delicious.

The lentil soup and hummus were perfect. As always, Middle Eastern cuisine has plenty of vegan options. The staff were so friendly and make you a priority - it was a lovely environment!

My partner loved the mint tea!

This Middle Eastern establishment is owned by a Palestinian and the dishes ranges within the region. We ordered an appetizer with an assortment of pita bread but the bread came unbelievably cold.

My friend had the vegetarian dish while I selected their lamb dish with rice. The meat was flavorful and tasty but felt like something was missing. The food was pretty decent but on the pretty expensive spectrum for the portions and quality.

This establishment does provide a home like experience and the service was a tad aggressive nonetheless the service staff were friendly and courteous.

This was my first time here. The service was above and beyond without being overbearing. Our server asked if we were ready for our entrees after we were done with appetizers. We were never rushed. The atmosphere is low light and a relaxed vibe. And the food?? To. Die. For. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. And the bonus…the leftovers reheated well the next day. I highly recommend.
