Atmosphere is beautiful for sure! Def a birthday place anniversary place it’s an every occasion place - owners are warm and welcoming - staff is 10 out of ten ! BUT Kris was our waitress and she was on point ! Didn’t miss a beat ! It was my birthday, so I told her I didn’t want anybody to sing to me or make it a big deal, but she still bought out a piece of cake with a candle lit which was so sweet! Her drinks were Amazing her personality is top tier !!! Wonderful meeting you Kris ! Food 15 out of ten steak was cooked to perfection and shrimp was over the top delicious!

I went to Sofrito last night for a friend’s birthday, and it was a great experience! The DJ, Riko, had an amazing set, and the valet service was super fast and professional. The mojitos and food were both delicious, and Richard provided lovely service throughout the night.<br><br>Overall, I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to try something new, enjoy beautiful views of NJ at night, and still be able to chat and vibe with friends. Looking forward to coming back during the summer!

We recently visited Sofrito NYC on Sunday, March 29 to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary, and overall, we had a really great experience.<br><br>This place holds a lot of nostalgia for us we actually celebrated our wedding after-party at this same location 19 years ago (back when it was a rented venue), so coming back felt really special. Booking through Resy was super easy, and even when we had to push our reservation back by 30 minutes, it was handled smoothly.<br><br>From the moment we arrived, everything started off on a positive note. The valet was friendly and efficient ($20, which is pretty reasonable), and the hostess welcomed us warmly. Once inside, the vibe immediately stood out there’s a lively bar area and a beautiful waterfront view that really sets the tone. We were seated in a comfortable booth (perfect for our kids), and everything felt cozy yet vibrant.<br><br>The bathrooms deserve a quick shoutout clean, fresh-smelling, and even had an attendant offering napkins and lotions, which added a nice old-school touch.<br><br>We started with drinks (Pinot Grigio for me, seltzer with cranberry for my husband, and sodas for the kids), then moved on to appetizers: chicharrón de pollo and empanadas. Everything was beautifully presented and photo-worthy.<br><br>Our server, Nicholas, truly made the night special. He was personable, attentive, and went out of his way to congratulate us on our anniversary. He recommended the skirt steak with shrimp, rice, and beans and that ended up being the highlight of the meal. The steak was absolutely delicious.<br><br>My husband had the half chicken with rice and beans, my daughter happily stuck to her favorites (mashed potatoes, fries, and chicharrón), and my son enjoyed his burger. The food came out quickly, and we had a great time just relaxing, laughing, and enjoying the atmosphere.<br><br>By sunset, the ambiance shifted beautifully—candles lit, music flowing (lots of salsa and Spanish classics), and just an overall great vibe. For dessert, we had tres leches, chocolate chiffon cake, and ice cream for the kids—all a perfect ending to the night.<br><br>Our total came out to about $325 for a family of four, which felt fair for the experience.<br><br>Why 4 stars instead of 5?<br>The biggest reason is the branding vs. reality. The restaurant promotes itself as authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, but the menu felt more like a mix of Dominican and Puerto Rican (overall Spanish cuisine). Not a bad thing at all but it should be represented more accurately.<br><br>Also, the rice (both yellow and white) was disappointing hard, grainy, and not what you’d expect, especially during peak dinner hours. It was the only item we didn’t enjoy and didn’t even want to take home.<br><br>That said, everything else from the service to the ambiance to standout dishes like the steak was excellent.<br><br>We’ll definitely be back, this time just the two of us, to explore more of the menu.<br><br>Thank you to Sofrito and especially Nicholas for making our 19th anniversary feel special and memorable. ❤️

This place is incredible!!. Had a work party here last year, we all had a blast!. Food was absolutely delicious!, service was perfect, and the restaurant itself is Gorgeous!. Beautiful views, open window concept, you almost feel like you’re on a cruise ship with the water view in such proximity combined with the restaurants atmosphere. Dessert/Drinks were near perfect as well!.10/10 recommend!!.

Great experience, food and atmosphere. Only complaint was having to use the atm to get cash for valet parking. Wish they took venmo or zelle. Other than that dope experience.

Great atmosphere and great great service! I gave 3 for the bathroom which was not well cleaned or decorated. Looked like a bathroom in a diner or supermarket. The place was elegant and the bathroom was a dump. The only issue with food was the beans which were watered down too much. The mojito was awful. I was shocked. Puerto Ricans are famous for mojito. Didn’t have enough garlic in it and was green. Should be Garlic, dash of oil, pepper and salt. The chimmie churro sauce was awful.<br>The paella for $60 was a steal and could feed 4 people. It said two. I’m a vegan and had an avocado salad with was soooo delicious and big. Two people could share. The service was excellent!! Music was outstanding.

Where do I start.. I booked a reservation for 5 on 11/22/25 for my wife's 40th. The service was impecable. They were on every detail. The timing was perfect. Nothing over lapped. From the Chicharrón, Calamari, baby fried shrimp, and Chicken to the Churasco, Paella ,Salmon and Deserts EVERYTHING WAS TOP NOTCH. The waitress took everyone's order and repeated it back without a Pen and Pad🤯 That made me feel like I was in my Grandma's Kitchen and not a restaurant. I worked as a waiter for 8 years. That was impressive to say the least. Finally the birthday chant was perfect. She felt very special. From the waitress to the host ,D.J, Chef, and bussers you guys are "Rock stars. If you're looking for great food, great ambiance, impeccable service and music that will keep you bopping throughout your meal. Sofritos is your spot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had the deal for 115 per person. Which wasn't worth it to me. The chicken and crispy shrimp appetizer, the chicken was to hard for me to eat but the shrimp 🍤 was good. The sangria that came with he meal taste watered down. But my drink from the bar that I had to pair for separately was really good. But my meal was good.

Great music, great vibes, and great food for brunch. Discovered this gem celebrating my friend’s birthday. Have gone to brunch ever since then and always love it. Only downside is that there’s a dress code.

Superb service!!! We arrived at the restaurant a little late and we traveled all the way from New Jersey for my son's 16th birthday, the restaurant was no longer taking customers, but I spoke with the bartender who got the manager for me to speak with and he was able to accommodate us. I was so grateful, I nearly cried. I did not want to ruin my son's bday. The service was superb, not rushed, and tasty as always. I am truly grateful and appreciative for what they did for me on this evening. And did I mention we were a party of 8. I would recommend this restaurant over and over even before today, but even more now! Thank you all for making this a great bday for my son! You all are amazing!!! May God continually bless each and every one of you that served us on this evening in whatever capacity that may be! 🙏🏾 ❤️

The location is awesome! However their brunch menu is very limited and served until 5pm on the weekends. The service was great upon arrival but the waitress never checked back at us after dessert. We waited 30 minutes before we could catch someone’s attention to get us our bill.

Absolutely delicious! Meats are perfectly smoked and not overwhelming. Highly recommend the picada to start and then get into the brisket. AND-reasonably priced.

The restaurant is absolutely lovely, with large windows offering a beautiful view of the Hudson River. The interior boasts a romantic, softly lit ambiance. The servers were attentive and provided excellent service, and the drinks were quite enjoyable. However, the food fell short of expectations; it lacked flavor and was rather bland, which was disappointing considering the positive reviews. While it may excel as a venue for parties and drinks, its culinary offerings were underwhelming. 5 stars for the interior, drinks and staff 1 star for food
