Come here for an authentic Korean bbq experience.

This place has been a staple in Palisades for apparently 31 years, I’ve been here many times for the last 10 years, finally al getting around to writing a review.

If you’re new to kbbq, simply get their bbq combo, and that’ll be a good intro to the experience. If you’re more experienced and know what meat you like and accompanying dishes then go à la carte. They cook the meat for you and it the meat cooks relatively fast so be prepared to eat so the meat is not overcooked sitting on the grill.

Service and experience is similar to what you would get if you visited Korea. All right good spot, balanced, no fuss, and good selection of dishes to make the bbq complete.

Good kbbq restaurant. Standout good point is the service. Very attentive and helpful. Standout bad point are the side dishes. They tasted old and like they’d just been microwaved before serving. Overall a place worth eating at.

I’m leaving this review after reading some of the negative ones and honestly feeling surprised. I came to Google today just to check if they were open, and I couldn’t believe some of what I read.

I am a White American and never once have I felt like anyone here was treated differently. The staff has always been welcoming, attentive, and happy to offer suggestions or help you understand the menu. This is a busy restaurant, and for good reason. In the 6+ years I’ve been coming here, I’ve almost always been seated and taken care of quickly. If there’s ever a wait, it’s rarely more than 10 minutes.

I even saw someone mention “recycling food,” which makes absolutely no sense. The food is so good that there’s barely anything left on the table to begin with.

Is it a little pricey? Yes. But you’re paying for quality ingredients, great service, and a consistently good experience. I’ll absolutely continue coming back.

Our experience here was extremely disappointing, especially given the price range of this restaurant.
From the moment we sat down (a party of four adults and a baby), our waitress appeared visibly annoyed and unwelcoming. We initially ordered several meat dishes (4 meat servings), a soup dish, and multiple beers and soju. Her facial expression and body language suggested irritation and disgust. Later, when we ordered additional meats(3 servings) and drinks, her demeanor slightly improved—but the service remained poor overall.
Throughout the entire meal, she never once checked on us, asked if we needed anything, offered rice to go with the food, or refilled side dishes. Basic table service was completely absent.
Because of the lack of service, we chose to leave a 15% tip instead of our usual 20%. As we were leaving, the waitress stopped us at the door and insisted we double-check the tip amount. The person at the register, whom I assume was the owner or manager, openly scowled at us. When we explained that the service had been rude and inattentive from the start, it was clear no one cared.
Frankly, we considered leaving even less, but out of courtesy, we did not.
We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend supporting a business that treats its customers this way.

This is one outstanding Korean BBQ place where they have the coal fired tables and enough ventilation that you don’t smell like charcoal, but the pan-char dishes too begin with are amazing and kept coming, good service followed by attentive waitresses that explained which meats to order and what side dishes that would accompany them made us feel that were we in Seoul again.
Wow we really enjoyed the kabli BBQ and the scallion pancake and the kimchi Jigee, the Pork Belly was very good and the steamed egg appetizer that was complimentary was amazing, the friends tried 4 types of meats and 3 sides a great selection and we will be back with more friends, also delivers and there parking behind the restaurant.

We had an amazing experience at this Korean BBQ! The service was outstanding — the staff were so attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, and the side dishes were generous and full of variety. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves great food and top-notch service!

We travel from NYC to enjoy the grill at this spot. The side dishes are fantastic—especially the fluffy egg and the rich, savory soybean soup (dwenjang jjigae). Our go-to orders are the pork and shrimp, but their soups are also a favorite of mine. Whether you’re here for BBQ or other dishes, it’s a great dining experience. It can get busy, but the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate us comfortably. So far, we’ve only visited during weekend lunch hours.

I recently went to a Korean BBQ place in New Jersey for the first time with my boyfriend, and it was a really fun experience! We went there for dinner, and overall, it was a nice spot to try something different. The price was on the expensive side, but I guess they do things a bit differently here, so it felt special.

The meat tasted super fresh and was cooked perfectly. What’s cool about this place is that they cook the meat for you at the table, so you don’t have to do it yourself. It’s a great way to enjoy the food without worrying about overcooking it! The unlimited side dishes were definitely a win. There were so many to choose from, and they kept refilling them, which was a nice bonus. The side dishes added a lot of variety to the meal, and everything was fresh and flavorful.

The service was really nice, too. The staff was friendly and respectful, and we even had a little chat with them, which made the experience feel more personal. They were attentive and made sure everything was going smoothly.

While the food was delicious, I did feel a bit hungry after the meal since the portions weren’t super big. For the price, I expected to leave feeling full, but that wasn’t quite the case. Because it’s a bit expensive, I think this place is better for special occasions or important events rather than a casual dinner.

Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d consider coming back for a special event. The fresh meat, unlimited sides, and great service made it a memorable first visit!

This restaurant has been my all-time favorite for over 20 years, and it continues to impress every time I visit. It's easily one of the top Korean dining spots in Palisades Park, if not the very best. The galbi here is exceptionally tender and bursting with flavor, and their selection of traditional Korean soups never disappoints. What sets this place apart is its consistency—no matter how many times I’ve been, the quality remains outstanding. They also stick to tradition by using authentic BBQ briquettes to grill their meats, which adds a wonderful smoky depth to every bite.

Side dishes were delicious but taste of meat was very average.
It is quite expensive charging people $48 for a single portion barbecue platter. I get the real charcoal fire and barbecue experience but if your main course or item meat does not taste like anything special, it does not worth to visit your restaurant. Female servers were kind of ‘as cool as cucumber’. They didn’t respond any of our Thank you comment.

Went to this place for dinner on Saturday. The place was bit crowded. I ordered scallion pancake, seafood soup and meat with veg I rice. Food was served at a very good temperature. The food taste was okay. However the scallion pancake was bit oily and greasy. Food taste can be improved.

We visited this restaurant today. My husband ordered the sashimi bibimbap. I ordered the octopus hot stone pot bibimbap. The sashimi salad was big and fresh. My dish also had a big portion with lots of veggies and octopus with just a bit of rice, which I liked. My only complaint was that some of the octopus was a bit rubbery. I had to chew the big pieces like chewing gum. Other than that the flavor was good. The banchan/side dishes were tasty, especiallythe fish jeon/breaded fish. Service was great.

Came here for dinner with my family and everything was fairly average. We ordered one of combo specials with meat (갈비), fish and bean sprout stew (아구탕) and tofu with kimchi (두부김치). The ribs tasted fine but the stew tasted pre-cooked and the seafood was obviously frozen (not fresh). Very disappointing as our past experiences from ordering items off the menu (vs getting a combo special) were excellent.

Service was fair. They rarely checked in though that is to be expected at a busy Korean restaurant on a Saturday night.

All in all, I would recommend this spot if you are ordering beef or other items off the menu but I would avoid ordering combo specials, as they lack quality and care from the cooking staff.

What place opens earlier than others on weekend mornings (10am) and also stays open until midnight? Oh yeah this is my go-to place for morning Korean soups or late night cravings. They have good breakfast/lunch special priced soups of every Korean variety, combo boxes, and I heard the sushi is very good too. Banchan served is great quality, and the servers do their job very well. Tiny parking lot around to the back, otherwise try street parking.
