For many years I felt that this store provided good service at very competitive prices. My mind has changed. The prices are now much more in line with others. More importantly, the staff has become increasingly nasty, especially the butchers. Meat that is on sale gets put out late. The attitudes in that department are terrible. What is the problem? Do they feel that they can act as they wish as the union will protect them? Think again. I’m no longer a customer of the Forest Avenue Shop Rite.<br>(Thank you to the manager - Dee - for trying to address my concerns about a particular butcher’s nastiness. Sadly though, her hands are probably tied.)

Decent local ShopRite for everyday shopping on Staten Island. The Forest & Richmond location is super convenient for the Mid-Island area, and being open 24 hours is a huge plus for late-night or early morning trips.<br><br>The store is fairly large with a good layout—wide aisles, a solid produce section with fresh fruits and vegetables (plus a good selection of organic options), a butcher counter with quality cuts, and a reliable deli for subs and salads. Overall, a convenient and dependable spot for regular shopping.
FOR HOME DELIVERY And PICKUP DEPT. Absolutely the worst! They make sure to pick produce that are far from ripe or just plain rotten. That's if they get it at all. Many times they didn't fulfill my complete order due to a product not in stock. However, when I go to the store the same day, the same product is overflowing on th shelf. They never answer the phone. Just terrible.
I've shopped at this store for 20 plus years and the last seven or so years the store just isn't the same. I don't buy meat there anymore. I made the mistake of ordering a cake there and somehow they managed to make the cake dry yet soggy. $30 down the drain. The parking lot is dirty all the time, the floors are dirty and of course the carts.
I stepped counting at how many years I'm shopping at this ShopRite and how many wonderful check out people I have had especially the recent young man I'm sorry that I don't have his name who not only baged for me ask me if I wanted to have him help me to the car since the weather was so bad
Decent local ShopRite for everyday shopping on Staten Island! This Forest & Richmond location is super convenient if you're in the Mid-Island area – open 24 hours, which is a lifesaver for late-night runs or early mornings. The store is pretty big with a good layout: wide aisles, solid produce section (fresh fruits/veggies most times, good variety of organics), butcher counter with nice cuts, and a decent deli for subs/salads.
Do Not I repeat use this stores delivery service I’ve tried numerous times grant you I understand prior to a storm but I’ve ordered prior to a storm and also during normal conditions the result is the same items<br>Not given very late no communication and I’m not talking an hour late I’m talking more than 3-4 at minimum and they always have an excuse as to why one time they had to send my order with an uber driver they told me no drivers unacceptable I feel sorry for people who have to depend on their service . When I didn’t receive items that were so called out of stock my husband has walked in and picked up said items but yet they charge 15 dollar charge how dare they Horrible Service!
I can't believe how kind these people are. I've been shopping with them for years. Discounts to Seniors, Veterans and Disabled people. With fresh produce, fresh meat,( by the way you can get meat to serve your needs), great products!!<br>Thank you ALWAYS!!
I usually buy my seafood from a local fish market. The local fish market was all out of lobsters so I thought to check ShopRite. The ShopRite website had the lobster listed for $11.99, on sale from $17.99 and it clearly said same price for online and in store!!!<br><br>I toke a cross town ride to the Richmond Ave location. When my wife and I arrived at the store, we shopped around for a little bit and headed to seafood counter once we were done shopping, I noticed the lobster didn’t have the on sale sign. I asked the gentleman behind the counter if the lobster is on sale and he said no!!!<br><br>I took out my phone and showed him the ShopRite website and that it says same price in store and online and that it’s listed on sale starting today for $11.99.<br><br>He said we didn’t hear about it being on sale. Then he says, let me check with the store manager if she will honor the online price.<br>Then he asks me how many lobsters I needed, I said I need 6 lobsters. He says, “we only have about 7 left but I can’t sell you all of them!”, I said why not? He says “because that’s all we have left.”<br>(You can’t make this stuff up!!! Unbelievable!!!)<br>I said, well… I’ll buy three and my wife will buy three. How about that?<br>He turns around and says let me go ask the store manager!!! … I said okay, no problem!<br><br>He goes and comes back about 15 minutes later telling me the store manager said it’s not possible. He said, “she can’t honor the online price!”<br>I said but it clearly says same price for online and in-store. And the right store is selected as the location on the website!!!!<br><br>He said, “yeah … well, that’s what she said” “and you can’t buy all of the lobster anyway!!!”<br><br>At that point, my wife and I were so disgusted by the experience and decided to leave the shopping cart we had which was over $460 worth of groceries and walked out.<br><br>Horrible overall experience and we will never shop at this location ever again.
The phone service is completely pathetic!! Never saw a business that refuses to pick up the phone. I go through hell when trying to put an order in Produce!!! Nothing to do with Jack the produce manager. Thankful he is always helping and sincere!! The problem is getting to him and the Produce Department once you call the main store line. Thanks Jack for your professionalism!!!

This is where we pick up takeout! The waitress who was in charge of the takeout today had a terrible attitude! If you don't want to work, go home and have a good rest! Rather than being in a bad mood, I won't mention her name! I hope she can change her attitude! It's so hot, it's not easy for everyone!

I'm so sick of this place their dairy section is always filled of rotten spilled milk all over the fridge and I have 2 babies. It's disgusting I've complained to the manager a month ago and clearly nothing has been done. Not to mention their red meat section is absolutely ridiculously over priced, Don't cry to me about the economy go yell at your suppliers. They cut the sticks so thin like paper and charge almost $18 for a piece of steak. Last time I will shop here I've lived in the community for 20 years. I don't care if I have to drive an hour out of my way to go literally anywhere else I will do it. Save your generic response I don't wanna hear it you know what you're doing is wrong, Yet you have a captive audience in this neighborhood that rely on you which is why you abuse that trust

They always got some good flowers especially in the winter time price are fair I usually go to the one in Richmond or Hylan and avoid going to the one in Veterans even though it was the closest one people at that location isn’t my cup of tea so other shop rite is better in a different location I wish it was fixed soon there otherwise it would be a big Nono for us families anyway prices here are cheap

Is there any particular reason why when they have the best deals and the best sales I have to come three times a day to see if they actually stocked up and every single day to see if the items are available ? And no one seems to have an answer every time you ask a worker when will it be available they don’t know or how much is this display that’s on sale their respond is oh I don’t know , you can check in the app or ask customer service and their other response is oh I don’t really know if they have any more of this item. whatever’s there I cannot help you or you can try to ask customer service This seems to happen every week I come in to shop specially for the sales item and you never know what time it will be available or what day , and if it’s available, no one‘s there to get it for you or to stock up on it throughout the whole day, It’s very upsetting when I find the best deals and drive-by, and I don’t find these items that are advertising the circular<br>They definitely need additional grocery workers to stock up on all these sale items<br>All I ever see is one older man stocking up and he’s constantly by his self and so many senior customers need his help . Hopefully after this review, we can see more improvements. . I can understand weekends the sale is ending. They’re out of stock. I could understand the end of the night they’re out of stock but mid weekdays 11:30 AM it’s all out of stock. So what time and what day of the week is the best day to come when everything is stocked up?

I have been to this store twice with my mother and I thought the prices were little cheaper. In the summertime I was wrong. I've got 9 items what I felt like to me was 30 or $40. But when I went to the concession stand I found out that it was almost $50 because they were prices on the shelves that was less pricey.😔🙁 I felt like they just put that there to show off. If I were you I would go on instacart instead of doing ShopRite outside. I tried this method last week and it wasn't what I expected. It's not a bad store. They do have a bathroom. In certain Seasons, their prices are high and sometimes their quality is bad.😐👎
