Always a great place to grab a meal. Large portions and good food. How can you ask for more

I have been going to the Sherwood diner over 35 years as did my parents in the 1960s and 70s. The Sherwood Diner is a great place to meet friends And family for breakfast lunch or dinner. The owner is very hospitable and willing to please his customers. The waiters are amazing especially Omar and employees Lily and David. Thank you so much for making my time at the Sherwood diner a pleasant one all these years Paulina of Valley Stream, New York.

I work near the area but decided to stop by with my co workers for lunch and the food tasted great and the prices were great since every thing around the area is pretty expensive but I guess one con is that our server tried her best to service our table but I do feel like she wasn’t as attentive, maybe she wasn’t feeling well but I had to try to get the attention of another server. Would I come back here again? Every now and then to switch it up.

To be frank, I haven't been in the Sherwood diner for probably about 40 years. But I grew up in that place, dozens of times a year. I'm 69 and I still remember how great that diner was. If it is a fraction of as good as it was then, it must still be great now.

They’ve been in business for years. The service is always fast and very friendly. They serve real food dishes cooked to perfection! I’ve ordered from Deluxe Hamburgers, Onion Ring with Sweet Potatoes Fries to Steak with Shrimps, everything so tender and delicious. My mouth is watering! I pay the extra money over any fast food drive thru any day.

Dined here with a group of 6 after arriving from JFK Airport after a long flight home.
Was seated promptly by a cheerful person.
Immediately received water and the best part, cole slaw, mac salad, large basket of rolls, crackers, breadsticks and some of the best pickles we ever had.
Our order was then taken and served at a nice pace.
Menu was huge as were the very generous portions.
Everything was outstanding in quality and all 6 of us had doggie bags at the end of the meal.
Very nice job Sherwood Diner - plan to visit again when around JFK Airport.

We had a pretty disappointing visit to Sherwood Diner. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was frustrating. Our server walked away mid-order without saying anything, which was awkward and unprofessional, and it was difficult to get his attention again afterward.

The diner wasn’t busy, so the lack of attentiveness stood out even more. To make matters worse, the food was expensive and not worth the value. Our steak and shrimp scampi looked very sad and was far from appetizing, especially for the price.

Overall, this experience missed the mark across the board. We won’t be back, I’d honestly rather go to IHOP down the road.

We passed that place many times and finally gave it a try and went for breakfast. The food turned out to be just ok and underwhelming by diner standards. The staff was not very polite and didn't seem to be caring although our simple order was prepared as we wanted. The owner was friendly and welcoming on the other hand. Not writing this place off however and will give it another try someday.

Spacious and welcoming, with a nostalgic old-school vibe. The menu has all the American comfort food favorites, and the portions are generous. Service was friendly and fast. Perfect spot for a casual meal any time of day. Highly recommend!

They make chicken and waffles the right way. Most places use chicken fingers! They used 4 pieces of fried chicken. Absolutely delightful! So delightful, I forgot to take a photo before I ate. So there's the thigh and a quarter of the waffle. Yum😋🤤

Was in the neighborhood and decided to try out this diner! To my surprise they were great! Super good food, big portion size and nice/ attentive stand. My roast beef sandwich was so delicious can’t wait to go back!

I’m so glad we came here instead of Applebees! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food came fast and hot. We got bowls of coleslaw, pickles, macaroni salad and buns with butter for free as appetizers and then the portions were huge, we ate leftovers for dinner! I forgot to take more pictures because I was hungry and tired but man this place was great.

I dropped by this place when I visited target. It seemed to be an original diner. The diner had a huge space.

I ordered a milkshake, Chicken Quesadillas, and potato skin as an appetizer. All the food was tasty and authentic.

Please be aware that dishes were amican portions so they were huge. Considering to order an appetizer it was the same as having a main dish.

Highly recommended.

This diner has been here for many years. The servers in general get down to business and are not the chatty or warm and fuzzy types, but so what! The food is served quickly, is hot and generally very good. Portions are huge. They put out homemade coleslaw( a vinegary version) and macaroni salad ( a more savery version.) I love the Mac salad cause I hate sugary ones. My food has always been very well prepared and delicious.
