Beautiful Italian place with a friendly staff! Great wine options as well. The mushroom pasta was buttery and delicious. It was complemented well with the a half and half of TieDye and vodka pizza. We also added the Calibri chili as an extra topping which added a nice zing to the pizza.

Great vibes and good food!

We came here for a date night without a reservation and added our names to the waitlist. The wait ended up being around 1 to 1.5 hours, which was definitely longer than expected. Once our table was ready, we were seated at the bar.

We ordered the Tie-Dye Vodka Pizza and the Vodka Pasta. Both were classics done well and did not disappoint. The flavors were spot on, and it’s easy to see why these dishes are so popular.

The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it a great spot for a date night or a night out with friends.

I would definitely come back for the food, but next time I’d make a reservation. Not sure I’d be willing to wait that long again, even though the meal was worth it.

The tie-dye pizza so good. We order 2-3 boxes of pizza all the time. Wish it was easier to get a reservation but that’s okay. We ate inside once. They were nice to give us a table they don’t have a big space at all but we love the food so we are grateful.

Rubirosa serves the best pizza in NYC as far as we're concerned—it’s a must-visit every single time we are in the city. Our absolute favorite is the Tie-Dye pizza, which is just fantastic and perfectly executed on their signature thin crust. It’s a very popular, smaller space right on the edge of Little Italy, so it fills up fast. Your best bet is to secure a reservation well in advance or head over during off-peak hours to avoid massive wait times. Cannot recommend it enough!

We had a great dinner at Rubirosa. We didn’t have a reservation, so we had to wait around 45 minutes, but it was definitely worth it.

At first we were a bit worried because we were there with our 3-year-old daughter and the atmosphere seemed very young and trendy, but we had absolutely zero issues. They accommodated us at a nice big table, the service was excellent, and everyone was very welcoming. They even had crayons for our daughter, which was a really nice touch.

The pizza was amazing. We ordered a half-and-half Bianca and Supreme, and both were absolutely delicious. Even though the pizza is super thin, the quality of the ingredients and the base were top notch. One of the best pizzas we’ve had in NYC.

Response from the owner

Hello Ezequiel Cabral,

Wohoo, thank you so much for the 5 stars! Every individual review means a lot to our team.

We look forward to having you back,
The Rubirosa team

Rubirosa consistently delivers. It has that perfect balance of being a neighborhood-feeling spot while still very much a destination. The vodka pizza is the reason most people come and it does not disappoint. Thin, crispy, and layered with a sauce that is creamy, slightly tangy, and incredibly addictive.

Everything else on the menu is simple but well executed, from the pastas to the salads. The space itself is warm, a little tight, and always has a great energy. It works for date night, group dinners, or just an easy night out. One of those places that earns its reputation.

Estrella (forgive me if the name is wrong) waitered our table flawlessly. They were so welcoming and entertained the dietary requirements of my party. Smooth communication between the waiting staff and the kitchen ensured our meals were prepared as requested. Started off with the eggplant parm per Estrella’s recommendation. It was bomb. Then came the pasta and margherita pizza. Pizza was crackling thin so if that’s your thing, this is the place. Ingredients for the pasta and pizza were top notch, I didn’t even add salt or pepper while eating. The pasta was cooked till soft as my party doesn’t prefer al dente pasta.

There are few things more beautiful than the exterior of this little restaurant. Inside, the low ceilings, dark furniture and nostalgic music add to the experience. I could feel the warmth and love in this business through the food and ambiance. It’s located in a cool walkable area with little trinket shops and cafes nearby.

Washroom was clean and comfortable.

Response from the owner

Hi Aisha,

Thanks so much for the feedback – we do love our little world here at Rubirosa and super happy you do too. We'll be sure to pass on your positive words to our team, especially Estrella.

Hope to have you back soon,
The Rubirosa team

The pizzas are absolutely delicious—perfectly crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and great quality toppings every time. Their drinks are just as impressive and pair perfectly with the food. The vibe is lively yet cozy. Always a go-to when I’m craving amazing pizza in the city! 🍕🍸

Fun, quintessential little Italy vibes of an established New York City restaurant. Great service, and menu is much brighter than just pizza. Braised beef braciole and short rib anglotti were favorites for our table.
Reservations took extensive planning and setting a timer at midnight to jump on it, but totally worth it. We went on a cold day where wait times were short, but I don’t think this is typical.
Waiter was particularly attentive to our food, allergies, and double checked with the kitchen on ingredients.
The menu is not overwhelming and there’s a focused list of desserts and beverages. The kind of place where options have been carefully honed over years of service.
We also tried the tie-dye and honey pie pizzas. Crust was exceptionally thin. This is what New York style pizza is traditionally known for. If this is your thing, you’ll love it. They have it down to a science.
A definite repeat. Would rate 7.5/10 for the pizza experience, but all else was a solid 9+.

$20 tiramisu is absurdly overpriced. It was good, but not $20 good. $40 pizza was also good, but it didn’t blow my socks off. This place is over hyped and over priced. Don’t get me wrong, the food is very good, but not amazing as the stars would indicate. Definitely give it a try at least once.

After months of trying to get a reservation (yes, it’s that hard), I finally decided to just try going without one. The wait was around 45 minutes but it was worth it because the food was great! I loved the half & half pizza (tie-dye and vodka) and the mini rice balls. Definitely a must try for thin crust, cheesy, NY-style pizza.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rubirosa is pure comfort, warmth, and excellence from start to finish.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance wrapped us up like being in a beloved grandma’s house — cozy, inviting, nostalgic, and full of heart. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you relax and feel taken care of.

The service was truly exceptional. Our server, Alyssa, was warm, attentive, and wonderful, but honestly the entire team went above and beyond. You can feel how much pride they take in what they do, and that energy carries through the whole experience.

And then… the food. Absolutely outstanding. We started with the fried calamari — perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Supreme pizza and Bianca pizza were both phenomenal, each bite better than the last. Even the bread was delicious (which says a lot). We finished with the tiramisu, which was rich, balanced, and the perfect ending.

The espresso martinis deserve their own mention — smooth, rich, perfectly balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. The ideal complement to an already incredible meal.

But the moment that really sealed it? They brought out a mini pizza box filled with mini chocolate slices. Thoughtful, playful, and unforgettable.

Everything was truly delectable. Rubirosa is one of those rare places that gets everything right — atmosphere, service, drinks, and food. I will absolutely be coming back, even if it’s out of my way.

Highly, highly recommend.

It is a rustic yet homey restaurant serving traditional Italian fares. Their thin crust pizza is crispy and chewy, and pasta is fresh with rich garlic savory pasta sauce. Their zappoli is perfectly fried crispy outside and doughy soft inside 🙂, and cocktails are delicious! It is a popular go to place and is crowded. So, you should make a reservation to avoid the long wait
