Service was wonderful but we had a just OK food experience here. Spicy crab chowder is a MUST! It was absolutely delicious and piping hot. I love that they give you a big pitcher of water - the food is so hot and fresh that you will need it! We ordered the fried zucchini and calamari with spicy sauce as well. The friend zucchini was excellent and the portion was huge. The spicy sauce for the calamari tasted burnt and didn’t add anything to the calamari. We dipped the calamari into the zucchini sauce which was good. Calamari was solid but not anything special. Crowd was all types of people which was really cool.

Randazzo’s Clam Bar definitely lived up to the hype. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh seafood, flavorful sauces, and generous portions. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, especially the seafood dishes.

The service was also very good and the staff was friendly and attentive despite how busy the restaurant was. The only downside was the wait for a table, which was pretty long, but honestly the food made it worth it in the end.

Overall, a great spot for seafood and I would definitely come back again.

Thank you for dining with us Tiffany!

As always, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service exceptional, and it remains one of the best seafood spots around. I ordered the Lobster Randazzo from the specials menu, and it did not disappoint—every bite was rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The lobster itself was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. An unforgettable meal, and I’ll definitely be back again soon.

The restaurant impresses with its atmosphere and unique coziness. It feels like a two-story restaurant with a long history. I rated it 4 stars. Now I'll tell you what made me lower my rating. First, the appetizer portion size- in our case, it was calamari... unfortunately, was the smallest portion I've ever seen and more expensive, though not much more than in regular seafood restaurants. The taste also earned me 4 stars. However, the main course portion was very large, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the PASTA COMBO with LOBSTER and SHRIMP SAUCE- an amazing combination of flavors. Aldente linguine with sauce and pieces of lobster and shrimp—the price was $42. Finally, I'd like to point out the slightly inflated prices and limited parking.

The spicy red sauce is the best in the city! I also love the crab corn chowder

Randazzo’s Clam Bar in Sheepshead Bay is a true NYC classic that’s been around forever, and it shows in the best way. This place has that old school charm and knows exactly what it’s doing when it comes to seafood. The calamari with the spicy sauce is very good perfectly cooked with just the right kick. It’s one of those restaurants that never needs to chase trends because it’s already established itself as a staple. If you want a real New York seafood spot, this is it.

I went here because my coworker recommended it while working in Brooklyn. It was a cold day, and the hot Clam chowder really hit the spot. It was great chowder. Also, the fried Calamari (galamah if you know what's what) was ridiculously tasty. The sauce they serve is excellent and has a nice spice to it. I would go back here and try other stuff if I'm in the area.

Some spots just get it right — Randazzo’s Clam Bar in Sheepshead Bay has been serving up seafood glory since 1963, and honestly, I think the sauce has more wisdom than half the guys I know. 😎

I grew up coming here as a kid, back when I thought “half and half” meant sharing fries with my brother. Now I know it means fried calamari and shrimp swimming in that legendary hot Randazzo sauce — with a biscuit that’s basically a trophy for finishing the plate. 🦑🍤🔥

Topped it off with a bowl of lobster bisque so creamy it could’ve paid rent in Brooklyn and still had change left over.

Some things shouldn’t change — like this place. Fresh, spotless, proud, and serving flavor since before most of us were even a thought. If you haven’t been here yet… seriously, what are you waiting for?

#randazzosclambar #brooklynfoodie #sheepsheadbay #seafoodlover #oldschoolflavor #nyceats #foodieinthebigapple2025 #masculineeats #calamari #lobsterbisque #classicsneverdie

Their famous sauce was truly amazing, but I felt unimpressed otherwise. Oysters tasted bland. This I blame New York because it probably just isn't the best place for oysters. Greek restaurants in Astoria also do a better job at frying calamaris.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you stopping by but we are not here to impress you. There is no need to blame NY for anything. Our oysters are always fresh, never bland especially with the our homemade cocktail sauce and horseradish we serve with them. We like Greek Style calamari also. Thanks again

Came here for lunch in the beginning of Sept so it wasn't really busy.

This is sort of a no frill, family restaurant. It's a staple of sheepshead bay. Ordered a garlic lobster, clam chowder, seafood pasta, and a fish fillet. Everything was phenomenal as always. The lobster was slightly overcooked - came out a bit chewy.

Randazzo’s has been a beloved staple in my family for generations — we’ve been feasting here since before I was even born. And when I say “feasting,” I mean it. This isn’t just a meal, it’s a full-on seafood celebration.

For my brother’s birthday, we came ready to indulge, and as always, Randazzo’s delivered. Fresh-as-ever raw clams and oysters set the tone, followed by classics like clams in white sauce and buttery shrimp scampi — each bite reminding us why this place is an icon.

The atmosphere? A perfectly tamed chaos. The moment one table clears, two more fill. The staff? Warm, welcoming, and on top of everything. And the cherry on top — after your meal, you can stroll right over to the pier across the street to soak in the salty breeze.

This Brooklyn gem hasn’t lost an ounce of its charm. Run, don’t walk, to Randazzo’s.

For more foodie gems like this, follow @blaze_eatsnyc!

It is fine. It is decent. A neighborhood seafood diner I guess. No frills in the food. I should have ordered something different as opposed to the usual. Coke is a bit expensive for the tiny bottle. This place definitely attracts a local crowd. The zucchini fries had no flavor. They are better at Carl's Jr . The hamburger bun looked very cheap and unappetizing.

Response from the owner

Thank you for dining with us! Sounds like your 1st time. Order something different next time. Thanks again!

This restaurant is really really fantastic!!!
Great food, friendly atmosphere, and worm stuff!!!
“Randazzo’s Clam Bar is a Sheepshead Bay gem! Fresh seafood, killer red sauce, and a casual vibe make it a must-visit. The fried calamari is top-notch, but the service can be hit-or-miss. A true Brooklyn classic!” (210 characters)
