Be aware this is a teaching hospital. Just Before my operation I was given a form to sign. That form in the fine print contained a waiver allowing the hospital to substitute my surgeon with 25 years experience for a medical student. The medical student screwed up a simple hernia operation. My GP who’s familiar with the hospital says a common practice. The Surgeon Latong Du billed my insurance company as if he did the operation. The hospital cover for this practice it’s a way of give novice student practical experience. If you go for surgery here you take a big chance . If they give you a waiver to sign and your not a lawyer walk out better than ruining your health for life law suits usually fail.

Had an extremely traumatizing experiences from Dr. Arunakumari Penumadu. She showed up one afternoon bc she heard secretions in my fathers throat. She said “how long has he had this?” (If she had known anything about this patient she would have known that this was ongoing for months) She marched in the room and demanded to suction him. I told her he would not allow it and he gets extremely agitated when you try. (Not even I can suction him most days) She told me to “step aside” and “it’s not a matter of him letting me, I am doing it.” She then proceeded to take off his oxygen mask, which AGAIN if she knew anything she would know he would panic and oxygen would drop (which it did), and proceeds to force the suctioner in his mouth. He bites on it, and throws his arms up, starts pulling at all the wires. I tried to calm him down and told her to stop. I tried to hold his oxygen mask back on his face and he was fighting me, which I knew would happen and I tried to explain this to her. She refused to listen to me. I had to ask her multiple times to leave the room while I tried to control my father and keep his oxygen mask on. She threw down the suctioner and walked out of the room. A nurse assisted me in calming him down.
When I tried to talk to her about it after she tried to dismiss me saying “this isn’t an urgent patient matter.” I said that was completely uncalled for and wrong, you do not know this patient at all, I explained to you that that would agitate him and you ignored me anyway. She tried waving her “doctor” badge in my face saying “I know what I’m doing.” Obviously you do not bc you do not know the patient. She made an uninformed decision on my father without reading his chart, without knowing anything about his situation, without listening to the family who is here 24/7 at his side. It was absolutely disgusting considering the situation he is already in. She deserves to lose her license over something so disturbing. And then called me and my mom disrespectful bc I tried to confront her about it and tell her not to come near my father again. What a horrible experience during an already terrible situation my family is dealing with. The ICU and NYC Health Hospitals should be ashamed to have her employed. I have never experienced such level of inconsideration from a “medical doctor.”

Queens Hospital Center is a state of the art hospital. It has excellent staff and a cafe with delicious, affordable food. It is also very clean and spacious. It occasionally has book sales with low prices. I’ve gone to this hospital several times, and I’ve never been disappointed.

The people are always working here, good to see. I went in for a foreign object stuck in my eye. The nurse and front desk were so helpful. After I had been admitted and went into the patient room. 10 minutes later I was met by a very nice doctor/nurse. They were so helpful and would 10/10 go here for any other issues I might have in the future. Thank you guys for being the Realest Medical Hospital!!! Not saying the VA hospital is horrible. But I will say this hospital is way better.

15 years ago and 10 yrs I had two births here which resulted in me never coming back anymore not only did the bed side manners suck, but for me giving birth 7/4/2010 I was told I couldn’t have my child’s god-father to come in the room to give birth with me which was disgusting, the nurse told me that around that time. I was by myself and not heard. It was my second pregnancy alone. I WOULD NEVER GIVE BIRTH HERE EVER AGAIN AT THIS HOSPITAL! I’m on my fourth pregnancy and would rather give birth at home than at Queens general. Be careful when it comes to there L&D area especially the nurses most have Caribbean backgrounds and tend to talk harsh and hard as if they demanding or telling you whats best for you when that’s not the case. I LOVE MT.Sinai in Manhattan upper west side which did perfect for my third pregnancy with my son not only did they listen to me but they heard me as well. Do your research before going to ANY HOSPITAL saves you the time and trouble.

I was taking in by an ambulance on 02.09.26
I was seen in the ER fair quick. However I was not seen by a Doctor I was seen my a PA Julina Darmania.
I explained all my pain. I numbness and pain. I was told to move my arm and I got an ice pack for my shoulder n lower back. And in the diagnosis it states that midline low back pain without sciatica. And what happened to the shoulder arm and hand. I didnt get a work letter. When I cant even get out of a chair without pain. Useless information not a full evaluation. Question i asked could not be answered. This place was clean but incompetent.

My mom is 70 years old and went to the ER because she has a really bad infection on both legs. She came here twice and was sent home. They didn't clean her legs or anything they gave her antibiotics which for her age wont do anything for the kind of infection it is. Her legs were leaking fluid and all they did was give her antibiotics. The hospital was supposed to write a referral for her a stay at a short term rehabilitation facility especially since she is a fall risk but it was never offered to her.

Excellent service. I received prenatal care and delivered my baby at this hospital. The staff, including doctors, nurses, and housekeeping, provided amazing support. Pregnancy is a delicate and vulnerable time; having such professional and kind treatment was a huge help, particularly during labor. The facilities were always kept clean, making my stay much more comfortable. I am deeply grateful

That was the best experience I’ve ever came to Queens Hospital. I even have my primary care there and she’s the amazing person I’ve ever met and they always give all the referrals to any patient that need to help even genetics. They’re amazing and they solve you no matter what and they can recommend you to a neurologist or whatever I suggest this place for anyone that needs to come in here. Staff is wonderful.

I had both my children here, c-section, however Emergency room isn’t the best, long waiting period, no hospitality, no food no water, the nurses act as if their too busy to cater to you, inconsiderate of continuous beeping monitor sounds they take forever to turn off, when your in need it’s difficult to get nurses to be on same
Page miscommunication between nurses and doctors from influx of patients. 9 hours in an emergency and 4 out of the 9 hours is just the wait on transport to go home is ridiculous. Other than that, there are some really great doctors in here who embrace they are still learning something new from each patient every day. God bless my OB delivery doctor but the staff who stitched me back up left me with a hernia to my stomach which makes me look pregnant permanently and I honestly wish to file a claim against this hospital for the physical damages, my body hasn’t been the same since giving birth in hospital 2021, with force to try vaccinate me and my baby when I had a birth plan, it just wasn’t the best experience I had to stay in here for 3 weeks at that. God bless the directors still much work to do when you leave your business in the hands of others.

WARNING!!!! If your going to this hospital MAKE SURE YOUR WITH SOMEONE FAMILY RELATED AND DONT HAVE A FEMALE DOCTOR, If your by yourself they don’t treat you the same as with someone’s with you, when ur by yourself your a nobody to them, how would I know? I was isolated for no reason cause I had short of breath for 9 hours and they did nothing until my family member came and that’s when they started working on me, so if my family member would’ve never came who knows I wouldn’t be writing this and died in that hospital cause when ur by yourself they don’t care, the hospital is full is females and all they do is talk, laugh, and make it seem like there doin work, they like to argue saying “Wait til I see you outside” and “Blah blah blah” it took 3 females 9 hours to try to fix me and that’s probably why they left me and good thing I’m a survivor cause I probably would’ve died, but this male doctor came and help and he took 20 minutes to fix me compared to 3 females 9 hours…So if your going to this hospital MAKE SURE ur WITH SOMEONE, and get ready to be ignored when u need the help, PS don’t even ask for food or water, they’ll say “we don’t have water” or “You gotta wait til 12 at midnight to eat”…..

Just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Queens General for helping me out yesterday in the ER. So many kind Nurses, Doctors and Personnel. It's rare you go to a hospital especially the ER and have pleasant experiences with every single person. The place was packed yet everyone kindly took the time to take care of me including, Doctor Weick, Nurse Heath, The Xray and CT Scan guys and a particularly special mention of Nurse Barbara who kept ensuring everything was ok with not just me but everyone in the ER, she never stopped working, never rested. Wish Google had 10 Stars. Thanks sooooooo very much!

Went to the emergency with abdominal pain. The service was great.
Later they transferred to the Queens woman’s center. So far my experience is great. It’s true that it take forever to get service in emergency just like any other hospital.
Update: Had my 1st baby at Queens Hospital .The Doctors and Nurses were super supportive and helpful.Although I had healthy pregnancy which end up with EC-section that was quite traumatic experience.
