They say, "That Poppy Seed Bagels is the best bagel place in Staten Island", and I think this is right but not accurate, it is right because it is the best on the Island, however inaccurate because, in my opinion, it is the best in New Your City and I don't exaggerate if I say in New York State. The moment you enter this place you feel the vibe, you smell the freshness, and feel the cleanliness and you sense the welcoming atmosphere. You can spend an hour or even two without even feel it, it feels like old cozy home! I Don't need to talk about the food because it speaks for itself.... the very first bite makes you fall in love with authentic bagels, and the coffee with all the varieties can take to your resty comfort zone in your mind. The hospitality in this place is something else! You will be treated as if your mom or wife is serving breakfast, not people trying to sell their products and the whole staff feels equipped and ready to serve. I loved their bagels and their new items (check the pictures and order that, whatever their names), and the prices are so affordable in this hard economy. If you want to live the best experience of having a tasty bagel in NYC, then this is your place, and I never say that easily... after touring the world and living in NYC for the past 8 years, I believe this is the best you can get! I come here when I need my hair done in Staten Island. The bagel breakfast sandwiches are amazing and this time I grabbed a muffin. I leave that they can cut the bagel and muffin into 4 pieces. Tip...just buy the black coffee and you can add all the fixings inside. I like adding the hot cocoa to mine. I wish I lived closer or that there was one on Long Island and I would come WAY more often.

this place was absolutely perfect. not even exaggerating. as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a polite "hello, welcome in". when we ordered, brianna, our server, was so nice to us. she made jokes and just had a positive attitude. now when we sat down, the owner, joe, was SO nice and funny. he made us feel comfortable, moving tables together for us and brought us some orange juice and a snack while we waited. he sat down next to us and kept a conversation going and just made us feel so welcomed. 10/10 experience, DO recommend

I ordered catering from Poppy Seed for a work breakfast at my school, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The ordering process was incredibly easy and straightforward, which made planning the event so much less stressful.<br>The food arrived right on time, and everything was hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Everyone at the breakfast loved the food, and we received so many compliments from staff. It was the perfect way to start our morning.<br>I highly recommend Poppy Seed for catering. Great food, reliable delivery, and a very smooth ordering process. We will definitely be ordering again!

Bagels were amazing! So many cream cheese options that were very tasty. We loved the varieties with the bacon and hot honey drizzle.

Great spot!!! Hidden, but if you know, you know!! The cook got my sandwich right!!! The coffee set is self serve which I appreciate!! Pray you guys grow!!! And the complimentary dessert was delicious!!!

Hands down the best bagel place I’ve been to. We drove from DC and felt like family when we walked through the door. It smelled amazing and was very clean. Everyone greeted us with a friendly smile and a hello. Joe the owner goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and even gave us a complimentary French toast bagel as we waited for our order. It was delicious! We ordered a variety of bagel sandwiches and decided to go back the next morning for 6 more sandwiches and 1 dozen plus 2 bagels to take home, just so we can share with friends and family. We could tell this place was a town favorite as it was busy, but the service was very fast. Hands down will make the trip back to experience this place again.

Came to the area for some time in NYC- coming from DC. Can honestly say it was 5/5 for food, service and atmosphere. Coming up from DC, that same morning we walked in to grab some authentic NY bagels and my goodness were we all blown away. The taste, the effect of the food- all was worth the drive. We waited a little for our food but it was awesome to see not a moment passed where there wasn’t someone walking through that door. I ordered The Sriracha and every piece of the sandwich was amazing. Coming from the DC area this place tops every bagel joint in the DMV I’ve been to, hands down!<br><br>If you’re coming to NYC and Staten Island- you MUST stop here and grab a custom bagel. SO. DAMN. GOOD.

The best bagel combination ALERT‼️The French toast bagel with plain cream cheese might be one of the greatest creations I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Thank you to all the staff for making this magic happen.

So we saw all the hype about Poppy Seed Bagels and we left unimpressed. The owners and workers were great, greeted us when we walked in, easy to order. Just to start we asked for both our bagels toasted and they weren't and to me that makes a big difference with a bagel ( to each their own). I ordered Salt bagels toasted with Cream Cheese and Bacon my wife ordered Egg Bagel toasted with egg and bacon with butter and jelly. The Cream Cheese was nice and cold which I love and the bacon tasted great and was crispy, but the amount of butter dripping off the egg bagel could have caused a flash flood in a small town. The bagel I would give a 5.5 but again if they were toasted we might have appreciated them more. If we are shopping at Lowes or Kohls we may stop by to try them again

Amazing place!! The most friendly, kind and fantastic staff - so helpful!! Best bagels we’ve ever had (whole wheat toasted with cinnamon walnut raisin & pictured: everything bagel toasted, with bacon & scallion) SOOOOOOO good!

We visited our son at Wagner and wanted to find some good NY bagels. Poppy Seed was just what we were looking for. We each tried something different, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any choice. You won’t regret your visit. The bagels are soft, with just the right chew and lots of flavor! They do not slack on the cream cheese application either! Wish we had asked what the coffee brand is because it was so smooth! I’d love to have some of that at home. We were also brought a sample by one of the staff members. It was what I think was a toasted chocolate bagel with cream cheese and jelly. Such a nice little gesture! Wish we would have thought to bring some home to Florida. That just means we have to go back sooner!

Amazing food not soggy. I live pretty far and ordered it on DoorDash and it was amazing. The biggest bagel I’ve ever had best money I’ve ever spent filled me up. Definitely recommend this place if you’re starving and you want a good bagel sandwich. This is the bumblebee !

Above and beyond the well-earned 5 star review. We were looking for a good bagel place, we found better standards of service, amiability and quality of food than most food places in general, let alone bagel places. I'm from NY state, and these bagels are the BEST I've had. Also, first place I've found that does an "egg-everything" flavored bagel! The fresh squeezed orange juice was a refreshing touch. And the owner gave us an impromptu tour of the bagel-making process behind the scenes, which was fascinating. We loved the transparency.<br>Highly recommend.
