I like to come here because of ambiance. Nice bar area next to water.

Food is somewhat ok & really depends on what you order. Burgers & raw bar are amazing. Everything else? Not so much though passable.

It does get a bit crowded during happy hour even though they technically have no happy hour because all the office workers in same building & nearby come here after work. These days, Thursdays are like Fridays so it's a madhouse on that day so I always avoid Thursdays around 5 - 7 pm.

The only thing I dislike other than lack of happy hour though can't really blame them given amount of foot traffic is everytime I go there, I feel bartender wants to close me out. I obviously want to keep tab open to contiune drinking but afternoon shift bartenders want me to close around 4pm which while understandable, is a bit annoying to have to pay twice if I continue drinking. This happened to me many, many times since I like to have early dinner around 3 pm.

So tired of this, I thought I solve it by coming in at 4 pm since dinner starts at this time. Only half hour later, bartender wants to close me out because he's leaving for day. I mean, seriously? I only been here for half an hour! Only safe recourse is to come here at 2 pm or 5 pm it seems which is stupid because sometimes I just want to drink longer.

Anyway, it's bad customer service to have to close out after only half an hour because it makes me just want to leave & not come back. Ever.

Curtis & Cristian were so nice! Really sweet staff and amazing food. Would deffo recommend. Loved it!
Response from the owner
Thank you for the feedback, Ailish! We are so glad to hear that you loved your visit and that Curtis and Cristian took such sweet care of you. See you again soon!
The view may be temporarily blocked by construction, but don’t let that stop you from going. The food more than makes up for it. The bartender burger was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and the kind of meal you keep thinking about afterward. The burger trio is also a great option if you want to try a little bit of everything.

And whatever you order, get the fries. No exceptions. They’re crispy, addictive, and easily one of the standout parts of the meal.

Service was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Once the construction clears up, I’m sure the view will be a huge bonus, but the food alone already makes this place worth visiting.
Response from the owner
Thank you for the feedback, Kristen! We are thrilled that our food, especially the bartender burger and addictive fries, made your visit so memorable. We appreciate your patience with the construction outside and are glad our friendly service made you feel right at home. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Excellent food. Burger was rich and tasty. But, rum raisin bread pudding was exquisite! Tastes from my childhood😊
Response from the owner
Thank you for the wonderful feedback, Josip! There is nothing better than a meal that brings back great memories. We're happy the burger and bread pudding were highlights of your visit. See you again soon!
PJ's was the perfect spot for our Valentine's Day date! We were worried about holiday crowds, but the staff was so organized. Our drinks came out fast and the food (fish fry and sliders) was delicious. If you're looking for a spot that is reliable, friendly, and fast even on a busy weekend, this is it. Great drinks, great food, and amazing service!
Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your experience, Nicole! We’re so happy that our team could make your Valentine’s Day visit smooth and enjoyable. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
We have been here a couple of times, once outside and most recently inside. The food is always good with an overall excellent menu. Nothing over the top fancy, just good food. Burgers are excellent, they will cook them the way you want them, a rarity anymore. Everything served hot and relatively quickly given how busy they were. The cocktails are quite good with the monster Bloody Mary a favorite. Service was pretty good considering how busy they were and the atmosphere is cheerful if not a bit loud. I can see us returning with regularity.
Response from the owner
Hi Bob, we appreciate you sharing your experiences with us! It’s great to know that you enjoyed both your outdoor and indoor visits. We strive to keep the energy lively, and we're pleased that you found our service commendable even during the rush. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon for more good food!
So PJ’s location is fantastic, it’s right by the marina in Battery Park City and you couldn’t ask for better views or people watching. It’s perfect for a group after work. The place is huge so it’s great for a big group.
The food is marginal. There can be good ingredients but it’s prepared at an industrial scale and the price is for the location not the taste. I’ve lived here twenty years.. it’s always been like this. My favorite thing is the chicken salad, really… and my favorite food in general is shellfish but I usually skip it here. If you want to hang out by the water and have some snacks that are a secondary reason for being there it’s a good spot.
Response from the owner
Thanks, FoodPress! We're glad you enjoy the marina views and our chicken salad. We appreciate your honest feedback on the menu and pricing, as it helps us improve. Hope to see you again for more snacks by the water!
Customer service upon entry could be better… the restaurant not being busy when we visited we were sat in the far back corner. One of the silverware sets had a long hair in it. Our table was wobbly… staff were friendly after we sat down, however we had 4 different staff members help us.
Food was overpriced for quality and flavor. This could be a great spot to visit on the regular but definitely needs some updates to the menu and atmosphere.

If you want a restaurant with amazing cuisine, beautiful views and stellar service, PJ Clarke's On The Hudson is it. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. The food comes out reasonably fast. Another added bonus is that it is tucked inside of a beautiful upscale shopping mall. You can't go wrong.
Response from the owner
Thank you for your review, Ann! We’re glad you enjoyed the cuisine, views, and attentive service. We look forward to hosting you again in the future.
This was easily one of our favorite stops in NYC. We were beyond impressed with literally everything - the burgers were easily one of the best we'd ever had, and our server Babacar was efficient, helpful, and polite. My drink was delicious with good balance and flavor profile, and the food came out unbelievably fast. So fast that the food runner approached our table and we thought he was mistaken. We will be back next time we visit the city!!
Response from the owner
Emily, thank you for the amazing review! We’re glad you loved the burgers and your drink, and we’ll make sure Babacar hears the shout-out. Can’t wait to have you back next time you’re in NYC!
a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view but sadly the food does not live up to the atmosphere. extremely mediocre cuts of steak for steep prices. the fries came soggy and cold and the steak completely lacked flavour. it was also very hot in the restaurant and we asked our server about it but no changes were made.
Response from the owner

I absolutely LOVE this place!!!
We had dinner there with my boyfriend last week and had some oysters, lobster roll and fish & chips. Followed up with some cocktails.
Service was amazing and water views are priceless! It feels like you are on vacation
Response from the owner
Hi Natalia, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re happy you loved the food, drinks, and atmosphere. There’s nothing like dining with a view, and it's great to hear you felt that special vibe. Hope to see you again for another amazing evening!
PJ Clarke's on the Hudson offers a visually appealing setting with its waterfront views and lively ambiance, making it a worthwhile stop for the atmosphere alone. However, the food itself is merely average, adequate, but not particularly memorable. What really stands out is the steep pricing, which feels disproportionate to the quality and creativity of the dishes served. While the location adds a certain charm, it’s hard to justify the cost given the overall culinary experience. If you're visiting for the view and a drink, it's enjoyable; just don't expect a meal that matches the price tag.
Response from the owner
Hi Geoffrey! Thank you for your review. We’re pleased you found the atmosphere and views enjoyable, but we’re sorry the food and value didn’t quite hit the mark for you. We take your feedback seriously and will share it with our team. We hope you’ll consider visiting us again.
The food was good, drinks were good, and atmosphere was good. Outdoor seating was very cute and view was pleasant. Service was quite slow but our waitress was very kind and helpful. If your looking for something casual and not pretentious or over the top than definitely recommend this place.
Response from the owner
Thanks for your feedback, Amandip! We’re glad you enjoyed the food, drinks, and the outdoor seating. We also We’ll take your note on service timing on board and hope to welcome you again soon.
During my recent trip to the USA, I had been craving oysters, and this place turned out to be the perfect spot to indulge in them! Depending on the daily stock, we were fortunate to savor some wonderfully briny ones, which I found particularly delightful. Freshness and sweetness were key, and they paired beautifully with a Chardonnay. We opted for a platter that included clams and lobster, in addition to the oysters. The clams were equally fresh and enjoyable. We also tried the calamari, which was delicious. Finally, we couldn't resist finishing off with the lobster rolls, which were a definite must-try and left us feeling satisfied! The service was excellent, and we enjoyed the lovely scenery overlooking the Hudson River.
