My experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arriving, we were immediately told “no” by a male host named Joe, who has a white goatee, and were effectively denied service without a reasonable explanation. I assume Joe is the manager based on all the responses to unhappy reviews saying to contact Joe. He literally came up to us as if we were children in time-out and straight up said “No.” Not the typical response you get when entering a restaurant.

Joe informed us that several tables were reserved for graduation parties. However, there were multiple visibly available tables throughout the restaurant, making the decision difficult to understand. It genuinely felt as though he simply did not want to seat us because he was prioritizing larger parties over regular customers.

Afterward, I contacted management and spoke with another “supervisor.” Even she seemed confused as to why we had been denied service, acknowledging that tables were in fact available. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, the response from her was also dismissive and disrespectful, with us being told to “hold on before going to drastic measures.” It is as if she did not believe the situation that happened. Did not even want them to call me back after that!

What makes this especially frustrating is that my family has celebrated numerous birthdays, graduation parties, and other special occasions at this restaurant over the years. We have been loyal customers and have consistently supported this business.

As longtime customers, this treatment was especially disappointing. The restaurant is happy to take our business during the slower winter months, yet when the summer season arrives, loyal customers apparently become less important. The lack of professionalism, communication, and customer service was incredibly disappointing.
Response from the owner
Hi Spiros,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We were disappointed to read your review, particularly as we have no record of intentionally refusing service to any guest.

Patrizia's of East Tremont has proudly served Bronx families, celebrations, graduation parties, birthdays, and special events for many years. During busy periods, especially on weekends and during graduation season, table availability is often determined by existing reservations, scheduled events, staffing levels, and seating timelines that may not always be visible to guests upon arrival.

While we understand your frustration, the situation you described does not fully reflect the hospitality standards we strive to uphold every day. Our goal is always to accommodate as many guests as possible while honoring commitments made to parties who have reserved in advance.

We were especially surprised to see ratings for food, service, and atmosphere when your review primarily discusses a seating concern. Thousands of guests continue to enjoy our authentic Italian cuisine, family-style dining, and private event experiences throughout the year.

As a family-owned Italian restaurant in the Bronx, we value every guest, whether they are joining us for a large celebration or a casual dinner. We would welcome the opportunity to review the details of your visit directly. Please contact Joe or management so we can better understand what occurred and address your concerns personally.

We appreciate your past support and hope to have the opportunity to speak with you.

Management
Patrizia's of East Tremont
