This is a small shop with limited seating. It was very busy while I was there. Beyond the meat, the pea soup was very good and the hand cut fries were hot and crispy. The service was prompt and friendly.

Response from the owner

Thank you for visiting us! We're so glad you enjoyed the pea soup and our hand cut fries – crispy and hot is exactly how we like to serve them! We appreciate your understanding about our cozy space, and we're happy our team could provide you with prompt and friendly service even during the busy rush. We hope to welcome you back to our deli soon for another delicious meal!

"Pastrami Queen" serves one of the best Quality Hot Pastrami Sandwich's anywhere. You can also get a Plate of sliced Pastrami or Beef Brisket if Your not in the mood for eating Bread. This place has been around for SEVENTY Years, and very little has changed except for the prices.
Oh I'm SUCH a Pastrami Queen!

Ordered the open pastrami sandwich which came with gravy, chips and coleslaw. All of it was delicious! Pastrami wasn't especially hot, but it was super flavorsome and the light gravy really helped moisten the sandwich without overpowering the pastrami.

The coleslaw and chips were also great. My partner got the potato salad instead of coleslaw and it was also delicious.

$30 is not worth it. Period. You can get the same sandwich anywhere in NYC for $15/$20. If they piled on the meat, maybe, but truly not worth the money.

Waiter was awesome. Atmosphere was typical NYC.

Response from the owner

Thank you for visiting us and for recognizing our waiter's excellent service. We appreciate your honest feedback about the sandwich pricing. We understand value is important, and we take pride in being a from-scratch kitchen using quality ingredients in our deli. We're sorry the portion didn't meet your expectations this time. We'd love another opportunity to serve you better, and we hope you'll give us another chance to improve your experience at Pastrami Queen.

Tried Pastrami Queen and honestly… mixed feelings. The sandwich itself was pretty mid—nothing terrible, but definitely not living up to the hype. The vibes, though? Solid. Classic NYC deli energy, which I appreciated.

That said, $32 for a pastrami sandwich felt *wildly* steep for what I got. But I guess that’s just the NYC tax at this point.

Response from the owner

Thank you for visiting us and sharing your honest thoughts, J. We're glad you appreciated the classic NYC deli energy—that's something we take pride in. We hear you on the pastrami sandwich not quite meeting expectations, and we appreciate you giving us a try. We're always working to ensure our food matches the experience. Your feedback about pricing is noted, as we strive to deliver value alongside quality in our from scratch kitchen. We hope you'll give us another chance to win you over.

We stopped here after visiting the Met. We were lucky to get seated quickly as there was a line after us. It is a small seating area, so the table are close to each other.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich and shared the garlic fries with my family. The garlic fries had a lot of garlic on it. It was seasoned well and mostly crispy. My son enjoyed it. As for the roast beef sandwich, the roast beef needed more seasoning and salt. The mustard did help overcome this. I also enjoyed the 3 different types of pickles.

It was an enjoyable lunch.

Response from the owner

Marckus, we're so excited to hear you enjoyed your visit after the Met! We're glad your son loved the garlic fries and that you appreciated our variety of pickles. Thank you for the thoughtful feedback about the roast beef sandwich – we take seasoning seriously in our from-scratch kitchen and will share your input with our team. We know our cozy deli can get busy, so we're glad you were seated quickly. We'd love to welcome you and your family back soon for another enjoyable lunch!

Pastrami by the pound! I set up an entire meal at home for family with what I can bring home from Pastrami Queen. There are no pretenders here and its worth finding this little spot to get the real deal. I leave a tip in the jar for the fellows that make all of this good food, and I have always had only the very best Pastrami from them.
Recommended

Response from the owner

Stephen, we are so excited to hear you enjoyed your visit! It's wonderful that you were able to set up an entire family meal at home with our pastrami by the pound - that's exactly what our from scratch kitchen is all about. We truly appreciate your kind words about our team and for recognizing their hard work in creating authentic deli experiences. We're glad you found our little spot and discovered the real deal pastrami we're so proud of. We can't wait to welcome you back soon!

Kind of pretty good? The meat is sliced thinner than katz and the sandwich is much smaller (for almost same price). Soup came out very fast because they did not heat it up (or season it at all). Sandwiches were also not really warm. Price of the meal was kind of crazy. I am a local and stopped by because it is supposedly a classic. I’m gonna stick to my go-to on Houston street. Service is slow and people waiting for tables stare at you and get in your space. If you need to try this place just get it to go.

Response from the owner

Thank you for visiting us. We appreciate your honest thoughts about your experience at our deli, including the pastrami sandwich and soup. We understand your concerns about portion sizes, temperature, and pricing, and we take all guest experiences seriously. Our from-scratch kitchen team works hard to deliver quality, and we'd love the opportunity to provide you with a better experience. Please reach out to us at contact@pastramiqueen.com so we can make things right.

I really don’t understand why people enjoy this place. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and the bread was extremely dry while the pastrami itself was cold. The chopped liver was acceptable, but again it was served with dry bread. The service felt as if they were doing me a favor, which is never a good feeling. I will not spend my time or money here again. There are many other places that offer a much better experience.

Response from the owner

Oren, we sincerely apologize that your visit to our deli fell short of expectations. We're disappointed to hear about the issues with your pastrami sandwich and the dry bread, as well as the service you received. As a from scratch kitchen, we take pride in our food quality and hospitality, and it's clear we missed the mark during your visit. Please reach out to us at contact@pastramiqueen.com so we can make this right and show you the experience our guests have come to expect from Pastrami Queen.

I ordered a pastrami sandwich, a brisket sandwich, and French fries. Everything arrived super cold and chewy. The brisket wasn’t even brisket — it tasted like boiled beef on a hero roll.

Nothing was flavorful, and the overall quality was really disappointing.
I genuinely hate writing bad reviews, and I always try to avoid it, but this was too much.
It felt disrespectful to serve food like this

This was a legit little sandwich shop!! My wife said it is some of the best pastrami she's ever had. I had the roast beef sandwich, and it was really freaking good. They load up the sandwiches with a good amount of meat! The onion rings, latkes, and coleslaw were all very solid sides as well. It's a tiny shop, so you have to squeeze in there but it's all a part of the experience. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you're in the mood for a good sandwich!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about the $50.00 per pound pastrami, that’s always delicious, BUT the packets of prepared mustard just cheapens the entire experience. Here’s some free advice: fill plastic soufflé cups w/lids with the same brown, spicy mustard you serve at the tables. Isn’t that what you used to do? I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated by others as well.

Response from the owner

Thank you for visiting us, Neil! We're delighted you enjoyed our delicious pastrami from our scratch kitchen. Your suggestion about serving our brown, spicy mustard in soufflé cups instead of packets is incredibly thoughtful and something we'll definitely consider implementing. We truly value input from loyal customers like yourself who help us maintain the exceptional deli experience our guests deserve. We hope to see you back at Pastrami Queen soon for another amazing pastrami sandwich!

Lets get right to it: $30 for the sandwich wasn’t worth it. Sandwich wasn’t horrible, a bit dry and had basic flavor but still edible (for $2 a bite of course) I just feel there shouldn’t be reviews or ravings of “known for huge sandwiches”. A huge sandwich should have me full or saving half for later. Im still hungry and Im definitely not a big back. I can appreciate great food for the price but this didn’t add up for me and I work all over the city to queens and brooklyn. Try it and form your own opinion of course but don’t go in with high expectations. I didn’t even have enough dressing to finish the other half of my sandwich.

Ps dont let the photo fool you, sandwich is barely 2 lbs Id say

Response from the owner

Donton, we're sorry to hear your experience with our sandwiches didn't live up to your expectations. We understand that portion sizes and personal preferences can vary, and we appreciate you sharing your honest feedback. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to reach out to us at contact@pastramiqueen.com.

Pastrami Queen was great! The sandwiches were truly excellent — especially the roast beef, tongue, and brisket. The beef broth served as a dipping sauce was rich and flavorful. The coleslaw was fresh and perfectly balanced, and the local soda was just the right touch. The place was clean (even the restroom!), we found a table right away, got served quickly, and finished our meal without any delays. The check for three was a bit over $100 — definitely worth it for the quality and experience.

I really wanted to try a typical pastrami sandwich, and I think I chose a great place. It's very small and modest, but it has a unique and authentic atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the traditional sandwich with fries, and there were two of us. It was very tasty.
