First time dining here can't believe I've never made it over here. Scrumptious and doggy dinners and desserts OMG how could you not! The staff was so lovely and warm. Will be our go to for sure from now on. Thank you team Papparadella!

This spot was amazing!! I’ve been GF for 10+ years and their expansive menu fantastic! I got the GF pasta alla vodka, with the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. The wines are phenomenal, as well as the cocktails. Most importantly, Donna, made my visit the best (everyone I interacted with was extremely kind as well)! She was a pleasure to speak with and truly made me feel welcome. I will be coming back with friends!!

Response from the owner

Thank you for such a wonderful review Haley,
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the gluten-free options, from the Pasta alla Vodka to the flourless chocolate cake. We've worked hard to create a menu that allows everyone to enjoy the Pappardella experience, and it's always rewarding to hear when that effort is appreciated.
I'll be sure to share your kind words with Donna, she'll be thrilled to hear she helped make your visit so memorable.
Thank you for joining us, and we look forward to welcoming you and your friends back soon.
— Marion & the Pappardella Team

The pizzas were so sad and airporty. They were dry and stiff and barely sauced. More like a flatbread than an Italian pizza. If I were served this pizza in a tourist attraction cafeteria, I would not have been particularly surprised.

Good service, good ambience. To the many of you who will go, make sure you look up, the ceiling is gorgeous!

Response from the owner

Dear Owl, Thank you for the feedback, and also for the kind words about the service and the room. We agree — the ceiling is one of the special details that gives Pappardella its character.

I’m sorry the pizza itself did not leave a better impression. Everyone has a different expectation of what makes a great pizza, and ours tends to lean more old-school New York Italian trattoria than Neapolitan-style with a softer center. That said, it should still arrive flavorful, balanced, and satisfying, and I’m sorry it missed the mark for you.

We truly appreciate you giving us a try and taking the time to share your thoughts. I hope we will receive another opportunity to woe you.

I love coming here so much to eat!!!!!

I had been to Papperdella once before, and last night I brought my best friend for a girls’ night out and it was exactly as wonderful as I remembered.

We started with the tomato mozzarella bruschetta, the pan-fried burrata (an absolute must!), and the caprino salad. The burrata, in particular, was unforgettable the sauce was so incredible we were tempted to lick the plate. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor.

For our mains, I had the spaghetti polpette, and my friend ordered the rigatoni alla vodka with a chicken cutlet (I might not have the exact name right, but I’ll never forget the taste). The sauce on her pasta was truly to die for.

Even though the restaurant was completely full when we arrived, we never felt neglected for a moment. The entire team was operating at such a high level attentive, warm. Our server, Marc, was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel confident in every choice with his thoughtful recommendations. Jorge seemed to be everywhere at once, working tirelessly with a smile, and the manager, Donna, made a point to visit our table, offering lovely suggestions that we’re already excited to come back and try.

The restaurant itself is effortlessly beautiful, warm, inviting, and stylish without trying too hard. It creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed but special night out.

We’ll definitely be back soon!

The food was outstanding—but the service was shockingly poor. This isn’t my usual experience here, which makes it even more disappointing.

We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated promptly by a friendly hostess. However, it took quite a while for our server to greet us or even bring water. We ordered a bottle of wine and two entrees, but shortly after, another hostess came over asking if we had just walked in and offered us menus again—very confusing.

The entrees arrived almost immediately, but our wine was nowhere to be found. Had I known it would take that long, I wouldn’t have ordered it. The wine eventually came, and the food itself was excellent.

After paying the bill, we stayed to finish the bottle, only for the waiter to bring over another bill—even though we had already paid. Overall, the service felt disorganized and inattentive, with more check-ins from the hostess than our server.

If this had been my first visit, I wouldn’t be eager to return. That said, I’ve had better experiences here before, so I’m willing to give it another try.

Response from the owner

Hi Ches,
Thank you for being a loyal guest and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. While I’m thrilled you enjoyed the food, I am incredibly sorry that the service didn’t live up to the standards you’ve come to expect from us.
It sounds like we missed the mark on coordination, especially regarding your wine and the confusion with the billing. That "disorganized" feeling is exactly what we strive to avoid, and I’ll be sharing your comments with our floor management team to ensure we tighten up our communication between the host stand and the service staff.
We truly appreciate your willingness to give us another chance. We are glad that you have been communicating with Donna and we are looking forward to your next visit! Sincerely, Marion Maur (operating partner)

New to the UWS and Pappardella is fast becoming my go to spot for great comfort food and an excellent experience.
I'm an in doors girl and the space is bright and airy....for those who like the outdoors there is ample sidewalk dining that's quite charming.
I've sampled quite a few dishes now and everything has always been on point. Hits for me include the pan fried buratta (that spicy marinara is killer) giant meatball, lasagna and bolognese.
Service has always been impeccable.
Love that there's a nice bar area for those times I want to fly solo and enjoy some good food and great cocktails.
Do yourself a favor the next time you're in the UWS and stop by Pappardella!!

My family and I literally stumbled upon this place while walking by last night. The front-of-house staff is AAA, all four pasta dishes an appetizers we ordered were delicious and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere embodies the quintessential Manhattan Italian eatery. Established in 1983, and our experience made it clear why they’ve outlived what I can only imagine has been fierce competition over the years. You’ll love it!

If you have the time for relaxed meal, this is the place to go. I loved the place. Great ambiance, tasty authentic perfect pastas. Their gluten free pastas don’t feel gluten free at all. I could have had that cocktail for ever.

The ONLY we had was that the food took 30 mins to arrive. We were in a slight hurry. I am definitely planning to go again, on a relaxed day this time.

Response from the owner

Dear Sandesh,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re so glad to hear how much you enjoyed the ambiance, the pastas, and the cocktails and it’s even more wonderful to know the gluten-free pasta stood out. We put a lot of care into making sure those dishes feel just as satisfying as anything else on the menu, so that means a lot to us.

We’re sorry the timing of the food didn’t work as well for your schedule. Because of our focus on quality and consistency, it does take time to prepare each dish carefully, but we understand that when you’re in a bit of a hurry it can feel like a long wait. We truly appreciate your patience and your kind words.. It means a lot that you’re planning to come back, and we look forward to welcoming you again for that relaxed meal next time.
Marion, GM

Fabulous Italian restaurant walking distance from the natural history museum. They have a giant gluten free menu that my gf guest adored. Good gf bruschetta, the seafood pasta was great. My glutenous mushroom truffle pasta was delightful. The raviolo was one giant very meaty ravioli piece. The maremma drink was orange-forward. The falso spritz was good, not too sweet, and somewhat herby. I wish their mocktail menu was more extensive.

Food was great! Highly recommend: ricotta di bufala, pan fried Burrata, and the pizza. All the deserts i tried were good. Caesar dressing on the salad was not overpowering either and tasted fresh.
I ordered a Coca Cola and it was flat. Host noticed right away and got me another one but that seemed kind of flat too.
Server wasn’t really enthusiastic about the wine selection but whatever we ended up with was good.
Recommend to check this out before a show at the Beacon.

I had an incredible dining experience at Pappardella! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and authentic — cozy lighting, friendly staff, and that classic Italian charm.

Response from the owner

Dear Felipe,
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the warm atmosphere and friendly service. We can’t wait to welcome you back to Pappardella soon for another incredible dining experience.
Marion, GM

Looking for a great meal before your show at the Beacon Theatre? This restaurant is for you! We made a reservation through OpenTable with no problem and they had it waiting for us. Side salads as appetizers house vinaigrette was quite good but the Caesar was also elevated. Salmon was ordered medium rare and came out perfect. The sauce on the Bolognese was outstanding. Tiramisu was very light - and very good. Service was on point even though we sat outside. Highly recommend!

Response from the owner

Dear Michael,
We truly appreciate your wonderful review! It’s great to hear that everything from the reservations to the salads, salmon, Bolognese, and tiramisu helped make your evening before the Beacon Theatre so enjoyable. We’re especially glad our service team made you feel well cared for Feedback like yours means a lot to us and to our staff, who work hard to create memorable experiences for our guests. Thank you for recommending us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for another delicious meal before your next show!
Marion, GM

Great eggplant parm and chicken parm. Zabaglione for desert was refreshing and light. Overall a great experience which will definitely be repeated! The only suggestion would be to update the ambiance music to some selections that don’t include over-played Sinatra. Other than that everything was great!

Just a short walk from the museum, Pappardella is a charming Italian spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The space is warm and inviting, but what truly made our visit special was the hostess. She was incredibly kind and attentive, even when my little nephew became cranky - She brought over crayons to help keep him entertained — a small gesture that made a big difference.

We split a Margherita Pizza as an appetizer. it was a delicious start to the meal, light and flavorful.
For the main course we ordered two dishes that we split between 3 people; Pappardelle Buttera – Rich and comforting with sweet and spicy sausage, sweet green peas, and a sage-infused vodka sauce. And the Gnocchi Pomodoro o Pesto – served with basil pesto sauce green beans.

Both desserts we ordered were excellent! The Torta di Cioccolato – A warm, flourless chocolate cake served with hazelnut gelato and caramel sauce. And my favorite, the Tiramisu della Casa – Classic and well-executed, with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and airy mascarpone. Not overly sweet, just right.

The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the service was thoughtful and warm. Whether you're with family or just looking for a quiet corner to enjoy good Italian food, Pappardella is worth the stop.
