Michelin where are you? If I could give more stars I would. Having visited Tbilisi 3 weeks ago, I had been craving Georgian cuisine on my trip to NYC. Thank the lord I decided on ODA House. Initially, I found a list of recommendations off Reddit and after seeing the reviews as well as pictures of the ambience, date night was locked in. The vibe and hospitality in there took me back to the streets of Tbilisi.

We had the Adjaruli khachapuri, Mushroom and cheese Khinkali, Meat Khinkali, and a WHOLE LOTTA medium amber wine (MUST TRY). Tarkhuna was also on our table (Tarragon Soda, looks like a magic potion and kinda tastes like it too haha).

Starting with the Meat khinkali which came first (we hadn’t even ordered it), my company was vegetarian so I am glad we caught it before inhaling them. Nonetheless I personally enjoyed them, aromatic soup, tender meat filling (not sure exactly I am guessing pork), and soft enclosure.

Now for the khinkali that we actually ordered. WOW. I was at a loss of words. Having only tried meat variants of the dumpling, the mushroom and cheese blew me away. Served with sour cream and a completely unique flavour profile, my most recommended menu item.

The adjaruli khachapuri was served next. Very traditional, only difference I noticed was that the egg was poached and the yolk wasn’t as runny as I have had in Georgia. Hot and soft bread, well-done brown crust, buttered…no sorry…lathered and the cheese was so rich. My final piece on this dish? TO DIE FOR.

Our server was nice enough, but the management was top notch. They attended to our khinkali hiccup with such accountability. Didn’t charge us for the menu item of course, but also put my 3 glasses of wine on the house. Not to mention the warm apology from what I will assume was the owner of the restaurant. Before leaving, he insisted on taking a shot with him…on the house again!

Chiche…Georgian brandy, went down like dessert. XO.

They indeed took care of us and I hope I have too. God bless this restaurant, they deserve Michelin attention. Can’t wait to be back in Tbilisi…sorry…NYC!!!
