Ocean Prime

There were 4 of us visiting during Winter Restaurant Week, and we basically tried everything on the pre fixie menu. The crab cake was ordered separately and ended up being my favorite dish of the meal.<br>I had the fish (tilapia perhaps), and I absolutely loved it. I would honestly come back just for that. I’m not usually a big fan of French onion soup in general, but that’s purely my personal preference. The grilled chicken was also very good—juicy and not dry at all. The salmon served with sticky rice was an interesting and enjoyable combination as well. The desserts were decent overall, though I personally wish the carrot cake had been a bit less sweet.

The best dinner of my life!! After a day spent in the cold rain, Ocean Prime was a warm reprieve. The staff, service, and food were all exceptional. We started with the oysters, wedge salad, and lobster bisque followed by the bone-in ribeye and lobster linguine. Not a bad bite to be found. We ended the night with gooey butter cake. A must visit in NYC—and close to all of the shows!

Stop scrolling, this is your choice when in town for a Broadway play or any night you are in the city. No other restaurant offers the variety and quality Ocean Prime does. Seafood Chops steaks raw bar , and wine sekection is unmatched. Sea Bass and Filet shared with a couple makes a neat surf and turf, oysters libster bique not salty, done right. Try to save room eat every course start with the bread.

I tried the Beverly Hills location before and it was just okay, but the NYC spot is on another level.<br>The lobster linguini is incredible rich, flavorful, and unforgettable. Honestly, nothing else I’ve eaten lately compares.<br>Kids’ menu is excellent, cocktails are top-notch, and the service is friendly.<br>Great atmosphere, perfect for family or friends. Definitely coming back!

Very nice steak at Ocean Prime. Service was excellent. My water glass was never more than half empty!<br><br>Steak was cooked perfectly and the bacon creamed spinach was outstanding. I was able to get all of my potato toppings on the side so could dress it the way I wanted (probably too much butter!).b The shrimp cocktail portion was on the small side, but the taste was very good.<br><br>A nice place in Midtown for a work dinner or just a casual date. Can definitely recommend the Ocean 55 cocktail as well.

I’m disappointed to share that my experience at this restaurant fell far short of expectations, primarily due to how I was treated upon arrival.<br>When I arrived for my reservation, I was informed by the hostess that there would be a 30-minute wait. I had actually modified my reservation on OpenTable 30 minutes later than my original time because I was worried about running late—though I ultimately arrived at my original reservation time. When I asked about adjusting my reservation to 15 minutes earlier to account for the wait, a male host who appeared to be the manager approached me and raised his voice, insisting that I would have to wait the full 30 minutes because “he’s watching all the tables and knows his shit.” His aggressive tone was completely uncalled for. I nearly left, but my girlfriend really wanted to try the restaurant, so we stayed.<br>There’s simply no excuse for speaking to guests this way. I came to spend my money and enjoy an evening out, not to be berated. A courteous explanation would have sufficed, especially since I could see several open tables at the time. At the very least, he could have offered alternative seating options or explained the situation with basic respect.<br>Unfortunately, this hostile beginning set the tone for the entire evening. While the seafood was fresh—which I appreciated as someone who grew up on the coast—and our server was pleasant enough, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were being rushed through our meal. We received our check before we even asked for it, while tables seated before us were still dining leisurely.<br>I’ve dined at countless restaurants, and this ranks among my worst service experiences. I won’t be returning.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The quality of the snapper was very good with really interesting sauce. The filet mignon was tender but could have used some more seasoning. The French onion soup was delicious and not too heavy. The carrot cake a pretty nice cherry on top of the meal. Great restaurant experience with a great accommodating staff.

Skip the bread basket; it’s terrible and anyone who says otherwise has never had good bread in their life. Steaks were great. We got the butter cake and carrot cake for dessert. Carrot cake was too sweet for me with so much frosting.

Our experience at Ocean Prime was wonderful. We reserved a table and were seated outside a window that looks into the kitchen, which my boyfriend enjoyed. The drinks were delicious and the food was even better! Wagyu sushi topped with gold leaf caviar and wagyu filet. Even the sides (mashed potatoes and corn) were extravagant. Service was amazing and we were treated to free dessert for my boyfriend’s birthday! They gave us birthday decorations on the table and a happy birthday candle for him to blow out (since we took the chocolate cake to go). Will definitely be back!

Service and vibe is fantastic. Came here for a birthday lunch and experienced fantastic service and delicious food. Fish was amazing. Desert was amazing. Calamari not pictured was so good too.

This is honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in my life and coming from Kentucky where I’ve been blessed with soul food- that’s saying a lot. I’ve been to New York three times and this is by far the best dinner I’ve ever had while visiting the city. The customer service was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. A guest next to our table accidentally spilled water all over me when she bumped into our table and the team went above and beyond like paramedics to make sure everything was okay and even offered to pay for dry cleaning. Even though I got wet- that moment made the experience even more special. The cocktails were absolutely spot on and the salmon was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back.

*Alert* If you want to eat food that's worth every penny and don't mind good service and a warm atmosphere, reserve a table immediately. Maitre d; reservations; wait-staff, bus-staff and yes, as well as the coat staff....., superb!<br>We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there, (credit to my wife for picking this establishment), and we were simply delighted. We were treated like royalty! Manager Shadman along with staffers Ilir (begins with a capital i ☺️) and Gella are a professional family that will make a return visit an easy decision! ***** Don't delay folks!!!!

So my husband and I walked into this restaurant randomly. BUT, everything was soooooo good. We ordered three things - shrimp cocktail, prime stake tartare, and deviled eggs! I’d give all of them a 5/5. Especially, the shrimp cocktail, I don’t typically like them because most of the time, they just taste so “dead”. But this shrimp cocktail made me feel like they just caught those shrimps in the pond in their backyard and served them like that! SO fresh! The current 4.6 rating is definitely underrated. Not to mention their service which was uh-mazing! You’re missing out if you don’t go try it for yourself.

Just found out it was a chain, had I known I would've stayed away! So the service was great, host opened the door for my family of 4 with strollers and scooter, amazing. Waitress was very sweet, but the good stuff stops there. She was very unavailable even though she was very nice the few times she came over. Food took freaking forever to come out, maybe half an hour and the outdoor seating was half empty. Worse, when the food came out it simply was not very good. I've totally had better. For the price, it should be freaking amazing. If the decor made up for it that'd be one thing but the interior just didn't marry up with the prices. I'm really surprised the owner isn't addressing poor reviews but I will say boldly that I do not recommend anyone to come here!

I was determined to have Italian food and was literally on my way to a restaurant I was following on my GPS, but when I passed by Ocean Prime, their bar and the vibe immediately caught my attention. I scanned the QR code, saw the menu and decided to walk in. Totally worth it! I was seated, ordered an Old Fashioned, the Smokey, I believe, the presentation was lovely and it was amazing. I ordered the filet mignon with the black truffle butter which was cooked to perfection. I also had half portions of the mashed potato, mac & cheese, and the asparagus. Everything was just top-tier and amazing! I was actually excited that they offered half portion size since it was just me, and I don’t eat large portions. I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely come back.
