We chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, and overall it was a memorable experience with some notable highs and a few disappointing misses.<br><br>The seafood was exceptionally fresh, and the lobster roll was easily the highlight of the meal. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and it reminded us why this place has remained a Brooklyn institution for so many decades.<br><br>That said, not everything was equally impressive. The mixed seafood platter felt heavy and overly battered, which masked the flavor of the seafood itself. The French fries were unusually dark, giving the impression that the frying oil may have been past its prime - something I would not expect from a restaurant operating at this price point.<br><br>What left the strongest impression, however, was the service. Before our visit, I had read on the restaurant’s website that birthday guests dining with a party of three or more receive a complimentary lobster. I had also mentioned during the reservation process that we would be celebrating a birthday. When I asked about the promotion at the restaurant, our server initially told me there was no birthday offering. Only after I mentioned the information on the website did she go to check and confirm that it was indeed available.<br><br>The restaurant generously provided the lobster, which was appreciated. However, the way it was presented felt surprisingly indifferent. Being told, “I’ll bring you the smallest lobster,” followed by a silent delivery to the table, did not feel particularly celebratory.<br><br>When the birthday offering was confirmed, I asked whether there were any other birthday options available and was told there were not. Later in the evening, I noticed other birthday tables receiving desserts with candles and enthusiastic birthday wishes from the staff. Perhaps those arrangements had been made separately, but as a guest, it left me somewhat confused about what was available and what to expect.<br><br>As my son quietly asked, “Why didn’t they sing for you?” I found myself wondering the same thing.<br><br>A birthday gesture is not really about the monetary value of the gift. It’s about making guests feel welcome and celebrated. The complimentary lobster was generous, and we genuinely appreciated it, but the overall experience lacked the warmth and attention to detail that one hopes for when marking a special occasion.<br><br>Our final bill came to approximately $267, including gratuity. While the food quality justified much of the cost, the overall hospitality did not feel consistent with the level of experience one would expect at that price point.<br><br>With an automatic 18% gratuity already included, I expected a more polished and attentive service experience. Great hospitality is often found in the small details, especially when celebrating a special occasion. While the food largely lived up to expectations, the service did not leave the same lasting impression.<br><br>This restaurant clearly excels at serving fresh seafood and has earned its reputation over many years. I left impressed by the quality of the food, but wishing the hospitality had matched it.

Overpriced for no apparent reason. You have to order the appetizers and main entree at the same time. Otherwise, the kitchen won’t take the order. We were waiting for the appetizers for a while. Then waited for the main entrees even longer. Just to receive plain food, you can get in a pizzeria. The bathroom are not upheld to a standard that justifies their prices. This establishment is definitely on its way out and either needs new management, staff or ownership.
Nick’s Lobster House really gives classic Brooklyn waterfront seafood energy 🦞🌊 The seafood came out looking like a whole celebration honestly 😂 Butter everywhere, big portions, fresh shellfish, and the kind of meal that has everybody reaching across the table trying bites off each other’s plate. Definitely one of those loud family-style NYC dinner spots where the food, the waterfront, and the conversation all become part of the experience. CTOL Rating: ☕☕☕☕☕
We booked for a 7:15 and got there half hour early. They were too amazing and got us in a tad earlier. It was beautiful out but once the sun went off the deck it got cold and they were able to accommodate us inside. We ended up at the bar area and both our outside server and the bartender are top tier. The hostess needs her own 5-star rating for her welcoming environment she has when you come in and the kindness we were shown. The food was just brilliant. Perfectly seasoned and came out in perfect ideal timing. I had a specialty cocktail I am obsessed with now and the wine selection for the other two I was with was great. We also loved our desert. The staff, the environment they created and the food are all stand outs, and they have parking which was great. We saw a lot of TikTok about the restaurant and in the end, they lead us to the right place. We can not wait to come back and try more of their menu!! Also the playlist that was playing really made the night as well!
Such a hidden gem! The lobster was incredibly fresh and delicious. Dining with that view felt like such a treat. Can't wait to come back!
We had such a wonderful experience here! We’re so happy to have found a restaurant with such a beautiful view so close to home.<br><br>The service was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We truly enjoyed everything about our visit.<br><br>We’ll definitely be coming back!
Went here with my partner on April 4th, 2026, and just had to write a review! The food was beautifully portioned, deliciously flavored and wonderfully seasoned. I had the whole grilled branzino and it was cooked to perfection. It came with a side of very fluffy melt-in-your-mouth rice and tender veggies. The service was also exquisite! The closing manager (whose name is escaping me at this moment) serviced the entire floor with such warm, friendly energy and was very patient and kind. He made the visit all the more special and deserves to have his praises sung, as he hustled to assure everyone was taken care of. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will absolutely be returning, perhaps with friends even! Highly recommend.
March 2026. Great staff, free parking, large seating area with plenty of space between tables, drinks cocktails r very good, food is fresh and delicious, 2lbs broiled lobster $97, coconut shrimp $20, mojito $14, glass of wine $12. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. B patience while they prepare your food. Fully recommended
Excellent food, as usual. We started with soup (Manhattan clam chowder and lobster bisque, then 2 kinds of salad, with added toppings (salmon and grilled shrimp were our selections.) For dessert we chose lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Service was great, the staff was courteous, and overall a pleasurable experience!
Nicks lobster has beautiful views that one can enjoy while feasting on delicious seafood. I started at the bar / lounge area & enjoyed their $5 Margaritas, Red Wine & White Wine Sangrias. I also had yummy Salmon Cakes at the bar/lounge area for $10 (great proce). The cocktails were well-prepared & refreshing.<br><br>I then ventured out to the dining area to enjoy the view while eating Scallops & a Baked Potato. While it was $50, which is a bit overpriced, it tasted good. The complimentary brad w/ butter is good as well. Rachel is attentive, friendly and nice. She took her time to explain the menu options as well as various bar specials. I had a fabulous experience and I will be back for more $5 cocktails! Thanks Nick's Lobster!
Service was good, food was decent. Grilled octopus has a good balanced taste. I'm not sure where they get their prices though, but if you have cash to burn, this is a decent option.

Hi Leon, thanks for you review sorry we fell short of 5 stars can you Email at<br>Host@nickslobster.com to give us feedback to better support you.
My friend & I had a taste for lobster rolls & oysters and a Google search led us to Nick’s where our craving was more than satisfied! The oysters hit the spot and we really enjoyed our drinks (a frozen guava piña colada and a giant margarita). But the star of the show was definitely the lobster rolls — delicious & flavorful, made with super fresh meat. We were pleasantly surprised that the portions are well worth the price. The pretzel bun and touch of Dijon made the rolls unique. It’s no wonder they’re a popular item on the menu! I loved everything (even the fries were perfect, crispy & well seasoned). My pre-birthday lunch felt like a getaway with the water-side dining and beautiful ambiance. The staff was so nice and attentive, making for a great experience. I’ll definitely have to visit Nick’s again next summer and try some other menu options.
This is my third time visit Nick’s lobster house, we love the oyster. But this time my husband and I both felt the oyster too light, maybe over wash away the salty water. The chowder soup we had not very hot. The salad is normal, the grilled octopus is crispy and delicious.
This place is amazing!! Food was delicious, service was good, and atmosphere is perfect for date night!<br><br>Lobster cream pasta was SO. GOOD. They give you so much lobster in there too. And the grilled octopus was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Couldn’t get enough of it!! It sucks there wasn’t that much :(<br><br>I got the lobster tail pasta out of curiosity for their Valentine’s Day menu. It was ok. I do appreciate the whole lobster tail though. I honestly ended up just stealing from my boyfriend’s lobster cream instead 😅
Recently, I had a wonderful lunch with friends at Nick's Lobster House, a place with a rich history and unique charm. We enjoyed the freshest seafood and a cozy atmosphere on the outdoor terrace, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch — the staff were very attentive and welcoming. Having a photographer with us helped capture all the great moments. Everyone was happy, and I’m glad I made this day special for all of us. Some may say the prices are slightly above average, but the experience is definitely worth it. Thank you, my friends<br><br>Khumoyun Akhmadjonov
