Terminal c has clear direction. Very helpful navigating it the first time. Not a lot of choice for restaurant and store. But sufficient to get going in airflight. Staff is okay, not the most helpful, more cops than staff. Bathroom is clean (agian the one that's beyond security) is better. The one public facing one? Well don't forget this is Newark...

If I could give this airport zero stars I would. Notoriously rude, useless staff. No instructions when Port Authority decides to change schedules or do construction. They act like a natural disaster struck instead of a mess they created on their own. Terrible transportation options. Everything, no matter when it was built, looks and runs like it is falling apart. Shameful for the most populated region in the country.
New Jersey's major airport is often considered the third-largest public airport in the tri-state area, after JFK and LGA.

We came in the evening, and leaving was smooth. However, when we leave it, it's super difficult!

Terminal A isn't available for drop off, due to construction. We have to take the airtrain from Terminal B, then walk 12 minutes or take the 4-minute bus. The system costs $3.5 billion to build?!

The security control is a joke. The TSA Pre-Check and Clear are not obvious. And it's the first time my little ball pen has been questioned. Seriously? Seriously!

Charging outlets don't work at the gate.

The bathroom has a line.

UA lounge is full and closed to One-Time pass holders, which is what I've "read the fine print" and what the staff said rudely. Hmmmm... any time when someone reminds you to read the fine print, it's usually a good sign that you never have to deal with them again. ... a.k.a. "I hid the trap in plain sight, and now I'm going to use it to get out of holdin up my end of the deal." Less of a fair contract and more like A legal ambush.

This is my first time using ewr, and it will be the last. Thank you.
Very impressed with this airport! I heard terminal A was a newly renovated terminal, and they did a great job. Everything felt modern, clean, and very easy to move around. One thing I really appreciated was having the luggage weight scales available before going to the check-in counter, it made it so convenient to adjust and distribute the weight between bags ahead of time. Small details like that make traveling much easier. I also liked that there’s a Starbucks inside that sells brownies, and they even had a trophy on display, which was a nice little surprise while walking around. Overall, a great airport experience!
Newark Liberty Airport - New Jersey

I flew from here several times over the last few years, and it’s a pleasure to continue doing so.

Let me start by saying that here, majority of the staff are helpful and knowledgeable about this ever so growing airport.

They recently updated their Terminal A. It offers modern amenities such as, comfortable seating with outlets and USB ports at the chairs. Some of the seating has ergonomic design that makes it better for your posture. By your gate departure, you will find large digital display with fun facts about New Jersey. Pretty unique idea for an airport!

CUISINE:
“Food… Glorious Food.” One thing I truly appreciate about this airport is that you will hardly see name-brands fast food restaurants. Instead, you can indulge in large variety of restaurants that are New Jersey born and raised. Prices are and can be extremely pricey. What impresses me about this airport at night, is most of the restaurants set up tables night before to be ready the next morning and day to serve new customers.

You might be thinking, ”Is it safe for them to leave tables set and out in the open at night? Couldn’t someone walk up and take full bottle of water from the table?” I’ve spent great deal of time at this airport, walking around at night while waiting to catch my flight the next morning. Surprisingly, it’s safe here. No one bothers you or bothers to take things that don’t belong to them.

PRIORITIZING FAMILY:
If you’re traveling with families throughout this airport, you’ll appreciate how much effort they’ve put in making sure your kiddos can unwind before their flight. They also offer nursery rooms.

THE SOPRANOS:
If you admire one of the best HBO Original Series - The Sopranos, you’ll love the photography art display they have of late James Gandolfini (2006). This is a large exhibition celebrating photography of Timothy White. Most of his photography you can find in Terminal A, by United, Delta and American Lounges.

AIRPORT WI-FI:
Most United States airports are just plain awful. But, Newark Liberty International is doing something right. Throughout the airport you’ll see their saying, “Connect to blazing fast Wi-Fi.” And, it’s so accurate. Hats off to Newark Liberty for providing blazing fast services.

Overall, I enjoy having this airport be my layover place for my final destination. Next time you fly through here, be sure to enjoy everything they offer, including clean restrooms that are brightly lit.
My first experience at Newark Liberty International Airport was a very positive one. What stood out immediately was how clean and well organized the airport looked, especially during the quieter hours when the terminals were less crowded. When the space is empty, you can really appreciate how well maintained the facilities are and how thoughtfully everything is laid out.

The staff throughout the airport were friendly, approachable, and willing to help whenever I had a question. From simple directions to general questions about the terminal, everyone I interacted with showed professionalism and a welcoming attitude, which made a strong first impression.

As a first-time visitor to this airport, I found the experience surprisingly smooth and comfortable. There was a sense of order and efficiency that helped reduce the usual stress that can come with air travel. The overall environment felt welcoming, which made navigating a new airport much easier than expected.

My flight experience was just as smooth as my time in the terminal. Boarding was organized, and everything moved along without issues, which always makes a trip more enjoyable.

Overall, Newark Liberty International Airport provided a clean, friendly, and well-managed travel experience. Based on my first visit, I would definitely feel comfortable flying through here again.
It has been many years since I've traveled through Newark airport, and I remember really disliking it in the past. When I found out I was going to my cousin's wedding and I needed to fly into Newark, I was pretty excited to see if it had changed. Well I am pleasantly surprised!

This airport is fantastic! The layout for check-in is intuitive and even though the security line was pretty long, it was incredibly efficient and didn't take much time. I took off from terminal A and I couldn't believe how nice it was. Tons of cool shops and restaurants, and a really cool triangular setup making it where you don't have to walk to far to get to anywhere. Lounges are right in the center of it all making it easy to get to your gate quickly once boarding opens up.

I never in a million years would have ever thought I would consider Newark airport near the top of my list, but here we are! What a pleasant surprise!

Pro Tip: If you're traveling with kids, there's a play area in all three "arms" of the terminal, but the main arm (near Gate 29) has a really cool one that is next level compared to the others. It even has bleachers for the parents!
My experience at Newark Liberty International Airport was cool overall. You can tell they are in the middle of renovations, and it looks like everything is coming together nicely. The updated areas feel more modern, cleaner, and better organized, which made moving through the airport smoother than expected. Despite the construction, things were clearly marked and easy to navigate, and the atmosphere felt more polished than on past visits. Once the upgrades are fully complete, this airport is definitely on track to offer a much improved travel experience.
The new terminal a is amazing so nice and new what a refresher to see an airport so updated it just goes to show that they do care about our experiences. I was just there and there was no line for security I mean that's a travelers dream! And also always go united they were such a pleasure to fly with.
I had a great experience flying into Newark Liberty International Airport. The airport was easy to navigate, well signed, and efficient from arrival to ground transportation. Everything felt organized, making it simple to get around even after a long flight. There were plenty of amenities available, which made the experience comfortable and convenient. Overall, a smooth and stress-free airport to fly into
This is an okay airport for what it is. It is large, but signs are clear and easy to follow. Good if you allow extra time or are a power walker like myself. Security lines can be long even if you get there early.

Be aware of the Clear Plus sales representatives at the entry of security lines, as they will pull people away from there at random to try and sell expensive memberships. This is a marketing scheme to try and get you to avoid the long security lines, rather than the airport taking measures to improve wait times.

Areas of Terminal C are a bit gross and in need of a better cleaning. There are also birds randomly flying throughout the airport.

I will say that the gates are spacious enough with plenty of seating and charging stations. There are also plenty of spots to eat if you have time, and I was pretty impressed with the selection of grab and go spots. Plenty of options for fresh food and coffee while you wait.

Again, it’s an okay airport for what it is with some room for improvement. This place was an easy in and out for me when traveling to New York City.
I recently transited through Newark Liberty International Airport on an international connection, and it's a classic case of highs and lows. As a major United hub serving the NYC area, it has some standout features but also ongoing challenges that can make travel stressful.
The Standout: Terminal A (9/10)
The brand-new $2.7 billion Terminal A is a game-changer – modern, spacious, with beautiful design, great natural light, and local art installations. It's clean, efficient, and feels world-class.
The terminals are a little confusing, but after a bit of wandering around you usually find what you’re looking for. The food options are okay—nothing amazing, nothing terrible. You can get a sandwich or a coffee that tastes roughly like coffee, and that’s pretty much all you need before a flight anyway. Security lines can be long, or sometimes surprisingly short. It’s kind of a coin toss.
This time check in was the smoothest process ever at Newark Airport. We did most of the process at home but still, the rest of the process took us about 15 minutes. It had never happened before. Maybe they figured out the process. Hope it will stay this way. The Christmas decorations was a big plus too.
EWR has honestly been my second home these past few years. I’ve flown in and out of Newark Liberty so much I could walk the terminals in my sleep. It’s always busy, but it moves — TSA lines usually run smooth and there are plenty of food spots once you’re through security.

I use CLEAR at EWR and it’s always fast and reliable. Even when I’m traveling with my kids, getting through the airport stays easy.

I’ve had a couple delays here, but they handled it every time — vouchers, rebooking, the works. And I’m a red-eye girl, so those late-night flights through Newark always hit perfect. Overall, a solid, reliable airport that keeps travel smooth.
