Amazing location! The Stranger Things Broadway show is literally in the building. And it is surrounded by Times Square, other Broadway theaters and the TKTS booth as well as multiple restaurants. Beautiful rooms and I love the extremely efficient elevator system.

As Titanium Elite members, we were disappointed by how the M Club Lounge policy was enforced during our stay.

We were traveling with our 12-year-old daughter and were informed that only the member plus one guest could enter the lounge without paying an additional fee. While we respect hotel policies, what was frustrating was the apparent inconsistency in how the rule was applied.

During the same visit, we observed multiple families entering the lounge with four or more guests using the same red room key that we had. When we brought this to the attention of staff, we were given explanations that did not align with what we witnessed.

This wasn’t about the food or the cost. It was about fairness and consistency. As frequent Marriott guests who stay at properties across the country, we’ve never encountered this issue before when traveling with our child.

The Marriott Marquis is a beautiful property with an excellent location, but experiences like this diminish the value of elite loyalty status. Guests should be able to expect consistent application of policies regardless of who they are.
As Titanium Elite members, my husband and I were disappointed by our experience with the M Club Lounge policy at the Marriott Marquis.

We were traveling with our 12-year-old daughter and were told that only the member plus one guest could access the lounge unless we paid an additional fee for our child. While I understand that hotels have policies, the issue was the inconsistent enforcement. We travel frequently and stay at Marriott properties every other week, and we have never been challenged for bringing our daughter into an M Lounge.

What made the situation more frustrating was that we observed several other families entering the lounge with four to five guests using the same red room key we had. When we questioned this, the staff member explained that the children were either under five years old or that the families had a different level of access. Based on what we observed, that explanation did not appear consistent with what was actually happening.

This was not about the food. I was literally having a banana and a cup of peanut butter. It was about the principle of fair and consistent treatment. Policies should be applied equally to all guests, regardless of who they are. If the rule is member plus one, then it should be enforced consistently. If exceptions are allowed, then they should be communicated clearly and applied fairly.

The hotel itself is in a great location, but this interaction left us feeling that the standards of customer service and elite member recognition fell short of what we’ve come to expect from Marriott.
The location of this hotel is perfect for those who want to be in the middle of the action. It seems to attract people from all walks of life (business, tourists, etc). My con is that my bathroom could have used a good scrubbing. Although it appeared clean, I hated the feeling of using it. The attention to cleanliness could be improved.
My husband and I recently stayed for four nights for a conference within the hotel. The staff were excellent and the hotel was very clean. Our room directly faced Times Square. I saw two Broadway shows while here - it was nice being just steps away. If you have your choice on where to stay in NYC, Times Square wouldn't be high on my list. Much prettier areas of the city. But, if you have to be in Times Square this is a good choice.
I’ve been going to this hotel since it opened in 1985!! I still love riding the glass elevators to the top floor and back down. I stayed there with my siblings on Labor Day weekend in the summer of ‘24 and the summer of ‘25 and had an awesome time. We had connecting rooms which always makes it more fun! The hotel is right in the middle of Times Square among the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Super easy to walk to Broadway shows, dine at local long established restaurants like Sardi’s and Carmine’s and course shopping. TKTS is also just steps away for good deals on Broadway shows. Since Times Square is literally the center of everything you’re just a quick subway ride, cab or uber ride uptown to the Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Lincoln Center and more OR downtown to the High Line, SoHo, the Statue of Liberty and so much more. The Marriott Marquis Times Square location is truly an iconic landmark at this point. The location can’t be beat. Lastly, in spite of a bumpy reservation hiccup, the staff made up for it and gave us an incredible room overlooking Times Square. Highly recommended!!!
As a first-time guest staying at the New York Marriott Marquis, standing in my room on the 29th floor and looking out at the panoramic view of Times Square is an absolutely electrifying and unforgettable experience. Nestled directly in the beating heart of this legendary crossroads, the hotel offers an unparalleled grand-stand seat to the roaring energy and brilliant neon lights of New York City, making you feel completely immersed in the metropolis from the moment you check in.
The sheer scale and architectural majesty of this flagship property leave you breathless. Ascending through the magnificent, soaring atrium in the iconic glass elevators feels utterly transcendent. The rooms are a masterclass in urban comfort—spacious, beautifully appointed, and impressively soundproofed, offering a serene, high-end sanctuary right above the vibrant chaos of the streets below.
What elevates this five-star metropolitan stay even further is the exceptional organization and hospitality. Managing a property of this magnitude requires flawless precision, and the staff delivers effortlessly. Every team member is remarkably polite, organized, and enthusiastic, ensuring that despite the fast-paced, high-energy crowds, your experience remains seamless and deeply welcoming. For any first-time visitor wanting to capture the ultimate, world-class essence of New York, the Marriott Marquis is an absolute masterpiece.
We stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, and overall, it was a phenomenal experience. One of the absolute best things about this hotel is the location. It is right in the heart of Times Square, and you truly cannot ask for a better spot if you want to experience New York City, Broadway, restaurants, and entertainment all within walking distance.

We booked a king room with floor-to-ceiling views overlooking Times Square, and the view was simply breathtaking. At night, when the lights came alive, it felt picture-perfect and was one of the highlights of our stay.

The hotel itself has plenty of conveniences and dining options. There are multiple restaurants, shops, and even a Starbucks within the hotel, which made everything very easy for families and travelers. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a huge variety of choices. They also offered à la carte options if you preferred something lighter.

The location made it incredibly easy for us to enjoy Broadway shows and explore the surrounding area without needing transportation most of the time.

A couple of areas where I think the hotel could improve: our bed linens had a visibly stained spot, which was disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. Also, while the bathroom overall was clean and well-maintained, some corners near the shower were starting to show wear and looked a little run-down. Certain parts of the hotel are beginning to show their age and could benefit from some refreshed upkeep.

That said, none of these issues took away from what was otherwise a fantastic stay. The location, views, convenience, and overall experience made this a memorable hotel, and we would definitely consider staying here again.
A mix of good, bad and ugly

The Good: the rooms are in great shape and super comfortable. Some of the rooms of
have great views of time square too. The house keeping staff is kind and for being in Times Square, the place is surprisingly clean. The rooftop bar is really nice and def is a must if you’re there

The bad: as other reviewers mentioned, the elevator situation is an issue. In prime hours, expect it to take at least 5-10 mins to get up or down to your room (each way). As much as a high floor sounds desirable, I couldn’t imagine the wait if you were on a top floor

The ugly: I’ve stayed at hundreds of Marriotts. Never once have I had my room downgraded. Triple check and maybe call in advance to make sure they have the room you booked available!!! The staff were able to work it out, which I was grateful for. But the tone was unnecessary aggressive and made me feel like was a complete nuisance. Maybe that’s just a NY thing but she’s truly the only person to have actually offended me on a 4 day trip.

The hotel is a solid choice but with the customer service, I would not return unless there was an event there
Right on times square. Staff was super polite. Room was nice and comfy, and you could see the times square billboards and sidewalks that was cool. There were blackout shades that blocked all of that out perfectly for sleeping. Perfect location to see a show in their theater. Stranger Things was amazing. And their restaurant "the View" is outstanding! I had a steak that just melted in your mouth. And my wife had the buttered halibut which was unreal and buttery. Not a single bad bite. Bring your own ranch tho. Absolutely recommend the entire hotel/theater/restaurant experience for anyone wanting to stay in the times square area.
We had a very pleasant stay in the Marriott Marquis and I would recommend this place anytime. This hotel has by far the best location directly at Times Square. You walk outside and are in the middle of New Yorks busy life. Lots of typical NYC sights are reachable by foot and big subway or train stations aren't far away. Our room was really spacious and the view from the 43rd floor was breathtaking.

I cannot understand the bad reviews about the elevators at all, because you got up and down really quickly. They had a great system with lots of elevators.

The big restaurant at the hotel had delicious food and drinks during the day and the breakfast buffet had a big offer of dishes.

The whole hotel stuff was always friendly and very helpful.

The gift shop was also great.
If you are going to shows then this is a good place to stay. Be sure to check out the 48th floor rotating restaurant and bar. We'd recommend a room on a lower floor (we were 11) because of the wait on the evelators if you're on the 20th+ floor. We also liked that our room was not facing the open inside as that area was louder.
The hotel is in a perfect location and made getting around very easy. Our room was good, clean, and we didn’t experience any issues during our stay, which we really appreciated.

Eduardo at reception provided excellent service as he was welcoming, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. He truly made us feel valued as guests.

Unfortunately, our experience was negatively affected by one member of staff who was an older senior doorman/porter. When we were trying to locate our taxi, he refused to allow us to seek help from anyone else and was aggressive in his approach. What upset us most was that he later told our situation to people at the valet and laughed about it, which felt very unprofessional and disrespectful.

Overall, the hotel itself and most of the staff were great, but this interaction significantly impacted our experience.
We had such a lovely Valentine’s weekend at the New York Marriott Marquis! The location was excellent and we loved being able to walk to so many nearby spots, including the show we came to see. The subway was also just steps away, which made getting around incredibly easy.

Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, and every employee we encountered was genuinely kind and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting the bar and grabbing coffee from the gift shop a couple of times during our stay. Everything we tried was delicious. The view from our room was absolutely amazing and made the weekend feel even more special.

The only small downside is that you do hear typical city noise, like car horns and sirens. However, with the TV on, we were able to sleep comfortably.

We would absolutely return and look forward to staying here again!
New York Marriott Marquis-the location is unbeatable — right in Times Square with direct access to all major attractions. The rooms are large, clean, and very comfortable. Staff members were extremely helpful and courteous throughout, and the check-in process was effortless. Elevators are fast and efficient, and the hotel feels very safe even when busy.

A special word of appreciation for Ms. Aracely Castillo, who truly went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Her kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help made a real difference.

Perfect place for families, professionals, or anyone attending conferences.
