Enjoy a classic American diner. Coffee refills, fluffy pancakes and poached eggs with corned beef is to die for. The staff are amazing and it's a joy to see their balletic finesse in serving customers.

Pretty good food, try it if you’re in the area! Eggs aren’t the best out of all the choices in New York, but the waffles and sausage are great!

New York Luncheonette has that classic New York diner vibe that’s getting harder to find. It’s been around for decades, and you can feel that local history when you walk in.

We stopped in for brunch and the food was straightforward and satisfying. The bacon came out perfectly crispy just like we asked, the portions were generous, and everything was exactly what you’d expect from a traditional diner breakfast. Nothing overly fancy, but just solid brunch food done well.

The crowd felt like a mix of tourists and locals, which makes sense for a place that’s been part of the neighborhood for over 30 years. It’s also a great spot if you want a quick sit-down meal without committing to a long brunch experience. When there’s no line, you can easily get in and out in under an hour.

If you’re looking for a classic New York breakfast spot with history and dependable diner food, this is a great option.

Came here for lunch with a friend yesterday. We were greeted quickly and our waiter was very friendly and attentive, which was the highlight of the visit.

Unfortunately, the restaurant had an unpleasant smell when we walked in. The fries were great, but the sandwich I ordered was very bland and lacked flavor, especially for the price. The fountain drinks also upset our stomachs later.

Both my friend and I ended up feeling sick afterward and I even threw up later, so something didn’t sit right with us. I ended up having stomach cramps the rest of the day as well — possibly from the deli meat. It’s unfortunate because the service was really great, but the food quality and overall experience were disappointing.

Came in for breakfast. Ordered oatmeal with blueberries and a side of ham. The oatmeal was luke warm. At least the blueberries were plump and fresh. The ham was slimey, wet, cold slices of boiled lunch meat ham. No attempt even to sear them well on the griddle. Yuck. I couldn't eat them.

I recently visited New York Luncheonette and had a great experience!

Food: The breakfast options were delightful, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious. The only downside was that a few items could benefit from a bit more seasoning.

Service: The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Our server checked in on us regularly, which added to the overall positive experience.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal. The vintage decor gives it a charming vibe that adds to the fun of dining there.

Overall, I highly recommend New York Luncheonette for a tasty and relaxed breakfast. I look forward to visiting again!

A bit disappointed after all the hype. We had pancakes and the tuna melt. Pancakes were fine but nothing special. Tuna melt was cold in the middle, actual tuna salad was dry. Fries were kinda cold as well. Service was wonderful. Really wanted to line this place more. They were given awards for helping during 9/11 and President Obama went there etc. but it was just okay. I'll try it again and order something different just to see if i can have a better opinion.

Nice authentic food just off 5th, so even though it was still busy, it was quiet enough to get a table. Wasn't rushed. Coffee refills. Giant pancakes with Nutella for the kids. Would definitely use again

This place is a treasure. Fast, friendly, efficient, and exactly what you expect from a breakfast spot. I brought my family here on a whim because it was across from our hotel. It was bustling but the line moved fast. The staff is like a well oiled machine, getting you your food quickly and moving people in and out as a team without rushing the process. I came back when I was in town on business by myself and sat the bar. Was amazed to see how they handled traffic up close, how quickly they turned around my requests, and how much the crew was clearly enjoying each other. They’re not reinventing the wheel here, but honestly this fast, friendly, no BS breakfast is exactly what you would expect from a midtown diner. Shout out to the grill guys who were absolutely crushing it. Recommended!

Food was delicious, service was friendly. Please support this restaurant. While we were there a homeless person came in, they were kind and compassionate giving him a meal. If you are looking for an authentic diner with great people in NYC this is it.

Old-school New York City diner in Midtown. After 36 hr fasting for a medical procedure, I needed someplace nearby for a good breakfast and this fit the bill. The omelette wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but since I was starving, it tasted delicious, home fries were good and the bagel with cream cheese cheese was tasty. Typical New York City diner style service from a hard-working crew looking to do their best. I will say that an ordinary egg breakfast for two coming out to $50+ (including tip) was a little bit eye popping but this is the heart of Midtown Manhattan so it is what it is. Can’t say that I would definitely recommend it unless you are at a hotel in the area and you need something convenient.

We came here for brunch today, and the food was great! We ordered the pancake lumberjack with bacon, french toast lumberjack with bacon, country omelette, and Mediterranean omelette. The pancakes were fluffy, and the omelettes and french toast were both good. The portions were large, and the service was quick and attentive.
