I love that they were able to relocate and expand to a new building. Good for them and they deserve the success. Sushi is surpringly good for a buffet. Great variety. And has hibachi grill.

Been here a lot of times and it doesn't disappoint.. we usually go for lunch and it's well worth the price! Love their sushi selection for sure! Just for sushi alone.. you can get much more for the price you pay!
The food here is alright for the price. I came here for lunch, so I can't speak for the options available for dinner. But, I can say that the lunch definitely was worth the money. After tax and tip, I paid around 20 dollars. This is a pretty good price for the options available. I ate plenty of clams, scallion beef, and yellowtail sushi. Service was quick in taking away finished plates from the table. Refill of water was quick. The sushi selection is not the best to write home about, but it does hit the spot for sushi. The frog legs were nice and spicy. I enjoyed the cream cheese wontons. Rotisserie chicken was very dry, but who gets chicken when there's beef.

One thing I do need to point out is that the guy making the sushi was coughing around with no face covering. I only noticed after getting my second round of sushi. At that point I had already eaten plenty of sushi, so it's whatever. But this was definitely alarming since there are plenty of elderly people who come here to eat.

All in all, the food was great for the price. Twenty dollars and I was stuffed. It's not going to be gourmet food, but I did enjoy it.
This is a large, clean, and spacious restaurant. I was impressed with the wide selection of food stations, from the salad bar to the hibachi station where you can have your meal custom-made. Places this size can be hit or miss, but fortunately everything here was good. As a large family, we had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!
The staff here is very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience better. Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty mediocre. The tuna sashimi didn’t taste fresh at all, which was disappointing for a buffet that highlights sushi. My mom actually a pretty bad stomach ache after words. One of the sushi dishes tasted very sour to her (it was a shrimp sushi).

The only dishes I genuinely enjoyed were the Peking Duck and the Mei Fun noodles — those had good flavor and were worth going back for. Overall, it’s not terrible, but it’s not a place I’d rush back to unless the quality improves.
Great food selections. It’s over crowded though. They had baked clams, it was tasty but, no clams in it.
AMAZING BUFFET! One of my favorites in New York, one of the things that makes it stand out so much in my opinion is the chocolate fondue fountain in the dessert section!! Sushi, Chinese food, AND amazing desserts!!
This is a pretty nice buffet, being cheaper then many but still expensive, additionally the food they have here is a variety from sushi, hibachi, to desserts. Aside from this though there’s also a rule that if food is wasted they’ll charge a 30%+ surcharge but food waste is considered a lot of food. On the service they are pretty kind and will get you seated pretty quickly.
I like this place. Good prices, even on weekends, when the price is usually higher. The choice of food is sufficient. Sushi and sashimi are also a good choice. The guys at the sushi bar are very responsive and nice, thank you for that. The waitresses are also friendly and responsive. In general, everything is super, food, staff and price. I recommend this place
A little over priced for dinner. Dishes were dirty. My tea had what it looks like oil in it. The chocolate fountain was to easy for kids to reach and they were getting the chocolate and making a mess and touching it with their hands. They charge separate for soda. I go to other buffets places and it’s always drinks included in the price with free refills as well. We paid over 80 dollars for 2 people only.
New China Buffet on Hylan Boulevard is a gem in Staten Island! The buffet offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, from sushi to traditional Chinese dishes. The General Tso’s chicken and crab legs were especially impressive. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, perfect for families or solo diners. The staff is attentive and ensures the food is always replenished. For the price, the value is unbeatable. Whether you’re craving sushi, seafood, or classic Chinese fare, this buffet has it all. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning. Five stars!
I recently visited New China Buffet in Hyland, Staten Island, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience! The variety of dishes available was impressive, offering everything from classic Chinese cuisine to sushi and a delightful dessert selection. The food was fresh, flavorful, and consistently replenished, which made the dining experience even better. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our plates were cleared promptly and that we had everything we needed. For the price, you truly get an amazing value, and it's a perfect spot for both family gatherings and casual meals. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!
This is not the first buffet I went to when I was younger, but this place is New to me and traditional.😊👍🍱🥡 First time I went here with a bunch of people in my program and it was really nice.🙂 There was a lot of food and a lot of desserts. Also there was a lot of fruits and ice cream too! 🍧🍨🍦🍏🍓🍒🍍 I don't know if they serve breakfast here but I bet it's delicious. 😋🥞🍳☕ They had a variety of food to my choice and l love it. I had two plates of food and already I feel full. I noticed that they had four separate restrooms and one family 🚻 restroom. By the time I went to the restroom I was ready for dessert.😋 They have cake jello donuts and pudding.🍮 They also charge you for wasting their food and give you a 2 hour limit for a group table. They all have different kinds of food sitting out on plates so it's not hot and ready once you're ready to eat. But other than that I enjoyed myself.😉 I feel like I might go here again just to see if they serve breakfast. If you need something to fill your belly, come to this place in Hylan Plaza on New Dorp Lane.👍
What a beautiful restaurant! The food variety is an amazing improvement from the old place! They added a big hibachi area. The only bad thing is, it took forever to cook! The females altered very very nice but idk, the male waiters were rude and without tact. One of them yanked the ice cream scoop away from my sons hand because he was taking so long! Not cool! I told him not to talk like that to my son, overall though, the food was amazing and the atmosphere relaxing and beautiful! Well done, New China!
