I loved the ambience and the food. The food was all great and very flavorful and the drinks I had the lychee ice tea and it was amazing I loved it. The staff was all courteous and really nice and welcoming. Definitely a great place to eat and enjoy a meal.

Love coming here when I’m visiting the city. My favorite are original pork and crab baos. It is so tasty and mixed with their chili oil, vinegar, and ginger help to amp up the flavorings. I have tried the other types, but they are famous for their original ones for a reason.
We came here as a group with 3 adults & 2 kids. We were pretty full by the end. Will be coming back!

Response from the owner

Hi Selene, I'm Mary. Thank you for being a loyal guest. We're so happy you love our pork and crab soup dumplings. We appreciate your support and can't wait to welcome you and your family back!

I came here specifically for the soup dumplings, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. The Xiao Long Bao was outstanding—perfectly thin wrappers, rich and flavorful broth inside, and a delicious filling. Every bite was exactly what a great soup dumpling should be.

I also tried the beef noodle soup, and it was excellent. The broth was flavorful, the noodles had a great texture, and the beef was tender and satisfying.

If you’re in Flushing and looking for authentic soup dumplings, this place is a must-visit. The Xiao Long Bao alone is worth the trip. Highly recommended! 🥟🍜👏

Response from the owner

Hey EZ 1, I'm Mary from Nan Xiang. Thank you for the fantastic review. We're thrilled you enjoyed the soup dumplings and beef noodle soup. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again soon!

Visited Nan Xiang on a busy Saturday early afternoon.

Once you enter, you can scan the QR code to enter your name and phone number and they will assign you a number. Luckily, there was only a short wait for our party of two at around 12pm...but I suspect the wait can be much longer later in the afternoon or during peak dinner times.

Once your number is called, you go up some stairs to the eating/tabled area. There are tables and chairs for 2, 4 and more guests throughout the large space.

The pace of the restaurant is very fast...as soon as you are seated, you are given tea and your waiter comes over right away to take any order you are ready to give. Its helpful to ask for a menu while you are waiting for a table so you know what to order when asked.

We had some soup dumplings as well as a (large) soup. Everything was very good and out in about 15 minutes...very fast. The soup dumplings were great...but as expected are filled with piping hot broth so be careful when eating. They have some other appetizers and dishes available. There are also some drink options including cold teas, soft drinks and beer.

Overall a great experience...despite visiting on a busy Saturday, we were in and out in about 40-45 minutes.

Street parking can be tough in the area but there are a few garages around...one of the more reasonable options is the garage at the Skyview shops which currently charge about $6 for up to three (3) hours and is a short 5 minute walk away.

Food was good but there were only 5 small pieces of beef in it but a lot of noodles. I think it’d be good to put more beef in it. There is a long wait, so make sure to reserve your spot before you go. The tea before the food is great and I love it.

Response from the owner

Hello Yashar. My name is Mary, thank you for your honest feedback and kind words about the tea and overall experience. We truly appreciate your suggestion and hope to serve you again soon!

Real men don’t chase soup… we chase dumplings.
Pulled up to Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings and yeah—still a cornerstone of Flushing. Prices? Shockingly chill for a spot this legendary.
Started strong with Shanghainese soup dumplings—thin skin, loaded with pork, broth, and that crab roe flex. One bite and I almost burned my tongue but powered through like a champ.
Then came the Shanghai siu mai—pork, shrimp, mushroom, sticky rice… basically a greatest hits album in dumpling form.
Finished like a boss with Ube Red Bean Bao. Sweet, smooth, and honestly my MVP.
Shoutout to Maggie holding it down—great service, fast food, hot tea, extra ginger… everything you want, nothing you don’t.
Big portions too, so bring backup (or don’t… more for you).
If you’re in Flushing and not stopping here, you’re doing it wrong. 🥟🔥

Response from the owner

Hey Eric, I'm Mary from Nan Xiang. Thank you for the awesome and fun review! We’re so happy you enjoyed the dumplings, bao, and overall experience with us. Hope to welcome you back again soon!

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings has been in Flushing for many years, but this was our first time visiting this particular location. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and you go upstairs to the second floor to place your order.
We ordered several items, including salty soybean milk, soup dumplings, pan-fried pork buns, fried Chinese chive boxes, and fried pork chop.
The salty soybean milk was just average and didn’t have much flavor. I would give it 2.5/5. The fried Chinese chive boxes were very good, with plenty of filling, and I would definitely order them again. I would give them 4.5/5.
Their signature soup dumplings were also delicious, with a good amount of soup inside. I would give them 4.5/5. The pan-fried pork buns tasted okay, but the skin was very thick. I would give them 2/5.
After we got home, we also found a fried pork chop in the order. I’m not sure if it was complimentary or added by mistake, but it was surprisingly good. I would give it 4/5.
Overall, Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings is a solid choice in Flushing for soup dumplings and other Shanghainese-style dishes.

Dare I say better than DTF? Definitely on par with the other legendary soup dumpling joint we all know to love. The soup dumplings were full of flavor and the skin was not too tough or light. Located in a busy intersection in flushing so there’s always traffic and a long wait. Be sure to put your name down on the virtual queue ahead of time. Their appetizers and noodles were a hit too. The kids especially loved the Shanghainese noodles, but they can be a bit salty. The only thing I would pass on is the general Tso’s/ sesame chicken type dish. Be aware that most of dishes are on the smaller side, so if you’re planning to share, be share to order double. The beef scallion pancake was pretty good too. The spicy beef tripe was also another favorite. All in all, they’re doing something really right!

Response from the owner

Hi abcdan, I’m Mary. Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so happy you enjoyed the dumplings, noodles and appetizers. We appreciate your tips and can’t wait to have you back!

Wife called an audible and changed our breakfast plan to this place. Good call, wife 😃❤️! The soup dumplings (xiao long bao) were delicious, it’s like being in Shanghai 😋. The pork buns were likewise delicious. Everything is made fresh (see video). Prices are low and a bowl of warm soy milk is one dollar LOL. Staff are nice and gave us good advice about other restaurants in Flushing. An aside, Flushing is the Chinatown of New York City. Vibe is a cross between San Francisco Chinatown and Richmond BC near Vancouver. But back to the dumplings and pork buns, yessss you want this!

Response from the owner

Hi Bryan, I'm Mary. Thank you for the fun and wonderful review! We’re so glad you loved the dumplings and fresh food. Hope to see you and your wife again soon!

I had an excellent experience at Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao! I went with my family, and we were all impressed by the fast and friendly service. Despite being a fast-casual spot, the food never felt rushed — everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot.

We tried a variety of dishes, including the famous pork dumplings, braised noodles, and udon, and each one was absolutely delicious. The dumplings were perfectly tender with a savory, juicy filling, and the noodles had just the right texture and seasoning. It’s clear they take pride in making every dish carefully, even with fast service.

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, making it a great place for a quick meal or a casual family outing. Everything felt clean, organized, and comfortable, and the staff were attentive, polite, and efficient.

Overall, Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao exceeded our expectations. From the speedy service to the amazing food, it’s definitely a spot we’ll be returning to again and again. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic dumplings, noodles, and flavorful fast-casual Asian cuisine

This place is wonderful. The service was fast. The people were courteous and the food was delicious. The menu has clearly marked vegetarian dishes. The menu has a lot to offer. The restaurant was busy at lunch on a Sunday, but the atmosphere was pleasant. They refilled our tea continuously.

The soup dumplings are excellent. How do they get the soup inside the dumpling? It is a nice explosion in your mouth.

Absolutely loved this place. The soup dumplings were amazing; perfectly structured, incredibly juicy, and clearly made with care. Every bite was flavorful without falling apart. I also tried the udon, which I felt could’ve been a bit more flavorful, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The service was excellent; the waiters were attentive and welcoming. We were offered a warm herbal tea that tasted like it was infused with rose. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Overall, a great experience and a place I’d definitely return to!

This is one of the well-known dumpling chain restaurants in New York City, and we visited the Flushing location. There was no line when we arrived, so we were seated right away. However, the place was almost packed. It was late in the afternoon — not quite lunch or dinner — but we were craving dumplings and decided to give it a try.

They served complimentary hot tea, which was perfect on a chilly day. It tasted wonderful, and the staff happily refilled it throughout our meal. We ordered two types of dumplings: one green-tinted variety (likely pork with leek or herbs) and a set of chicken soup dumplings. The pork dumplings were outstanding — flavorful and aromatic — while the chicken ones were milder in taste.

The service was attentive; they brought out the dumplings in batches so each set stayed piping hot. The soup dumplings in particular were excellent — steamy, juicy, and comforting. They also had chili oil on the table, which added a perfect kick.

Overall, this place is a great spot for dumpling lovers — flavorful food, warm service, and a cozy vibe. Highly recommended if you’re in the Flushing area.

An iconic dumpling restaurant that is known for their soup dumplings! Not only can you order traditional pork soup dumplings, but also truffle & pork soup dumplings, chicken soup dumplings, abalone & pork soup dumplings, three treasures soup dumplings, and many more! Just note that it may get busy at times and you will need to join a waitlist.

In addition to their steamed soup dumplings, they offer appetizers, noodle soups, and stir-fried noodles & rice cakes. Several of their signature dishes that I also recommend are Beef Tripe in Spicy Sauce, Four Happiness Sponge Tofu, and Shanghai Stir-Fried Udon. If you want more beef and bok choy, then go for the Beef Stir-Fried Udon instead of the Shanghai Stir-Fried Udon. Other than that, enjoy!

Response from the owner
