Mike's Unicorn Diner

5/26/2026 1700(5pm). Walked in, no one greeted or acknowledge I was there. Waited over 5 minutes while everyone watched TV and drank their coffee (order takers). Grabbed my own menu and turned to the cashier and asked who do I leave an order with. She took it, felt like I was bothering everyone. They messed up the food. When I got home there was a hair in my fries. Took a picture before I threw all 3 orders in the garbage. Felt disrespected especially a day after Memorial Day being a veteran. Will never return. Told every veteran and active member I know about my experience. Every family and city worker. Was planning an event with over 20 military personnel there. Me and my kids went to Five guys instead and was welcomed and treated with respect in a time where the economy is not good for food services. Did I mention the hair I found and I'm bald. Never again. Usually the last year service was a perfect 10+, now I wish I could give them negative stars.

service was super fast, food was great actually and I was impressed how clean the diner is!

Incredible grilled chicken club sandwich. Great experience. Also good milkshake

They have a nice spot, but the food leaves much to be desired. The hamburgers were decent, but don't order a chili burger. The chili is just awful. It tasted like it came from a can and then was left sitting out too long. Gross. The spaghetti sauce is very bland and the meatballs are equally unexciting. The beef brisket looks like they used steak umms soaked in a sauce I wouldn't serve my dog. The atmosphere is decent, and the service is friendly. But they really need better food. Ordering a hamburger or a pastrami sandwich at least is a safe bet.

Came back again today to the diner for one last chance and everything was fantastic my wife and I were seated immediately and Sofia the waitress came over and greeted us very nicely took our order the food came out extremely fast it was super fresh and very tasty I am so glad that we had such a wonderful experience today because now I will keep coming back again with my wife and my friends like I used to.<br><br>10 out of 10 experience today all around

Very disappointing experience at Mike’s Unicorn Diner. We ordered burgers and the bread tasted old/stale, and overall the burger flavor was awful. We mentioned the issue, but we were still asked to pay in full. I understand policies vary, but I expected the staff to handle the situation differently when the food was clearly not fresh. I won’t be returning.

Very disappointed at the meal this evening. We asked before ordering if the turkey burgers were fresh or frozen and were told they were fresh turkey meat. The burgers came out and were the flattest patties and clearly thawed from frozen and even tasted like freezer burn.<br>There were plenty other items on the menu so clearly being honest the freshness would have given us the choice to pick something that would have been palatable and enjoyable.<br>Shame on this discourteous way they treat the customer.

This is place phenomenal with delicious food.<br>Very cozy atmosphere.<br>I had yummy lobster ravioli.<br>Brianna did the best Job as a waitress, she easily wins the best of the Year, don't let her slip away. I will be back to try other dishes as well.

Thankful for this place for us to hang out and eat around 10:30 pm.<br>Food is not bad we’ll definitely be back again.<br>So much variety selections of food.

We were there for breakfast. The food was delicious and our server was friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the environment was clean.

The Staten Island version of the Seinfeld coffee shop - an underrated super chill, casual neighborhood diner. Came in the morning when it was full of regulars, chatting it up with the waitresses. Super friendly, attentive, and accommodating service. Kitchen will gladly accommodate cooking preferences and dietary restrictions. Eggs cooked perfectly 🤌🏽

Visiting from out of town, so my first time here. What drew my attention was the smell driving by. Tried the pizza burger and it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the potatoes with cheese and bacon. The service was good. Plenty of parking in the back. Really regret not trying the dessert.

One of the last few 24 hour diners on Staten Island. This particular Saturday night there was a high turnout of customers. My friend and I ordered a late night breakfast. Strawberries and cream waffles. Fresh and tasty. Good cappuccino. My friend ordered a breakfast quesadilla. Very friendly, chatty waiter. He was very enthusiastic. A solid local staple!<br>Update: Nov 11, 2023: My friend and I got a booth. Once again on another Saturday night about 8pm. Very friendly, attentive service. When we got there it wasn't too busy but after an hour or two it became bustling with big parties of tables and whatnot. Almost a packed house. Expect Manhattan prices but very good sized portions. Almost always leftovers. The dessert case is always fun to check out so you can pick out whatever is the most visually appetizing. Love the chocolate covered strawberries! French onion soup has way too much cheese on top, so I don't think I'd order it again. Zucchini sticks are ok too. One of the most reliable diners on the island.

Went here for lunch after the rush and the food was good! I had the Italian chicken panini and my friend got a Greek salad. All staff were masked but the we were packed pretty close with other diners. Note, some of the booths are elevated but there are actual tables as well. That being said although the front door isn't wheelchair friendly, there is a side entrance with a ramp.<br><br>Also went for dinner another day and had a chicken cheddar wrap, the lamb shank and the beef brisket. They have dinner specials from Monday to Thursday.

Overall a pleasant experience at Mike's Unicorn Diner. The waitress was very kind and nice, however, they weren't wearing a mask but it was 3 am so it's alright. They also did not check for our vaccination status. Most of the food was delicious, by the end, we were stuffed. The hot chocolate was decent, but I was displeased that a small mug of it was around $3-$4. The curly fries and fried pickles were the highlight of the meal. The bacon wasn't too crispy, and the omelette was alright. I asked for a spinach mushroom and tomato omelet, but they unfortunately left out the tomato. The oreo cheesecake was delicious though. The coke float was also pretty good.
