This location is special, but not in a good way. The biggest issue is that there are no carts available in the entrance area, so you have to go out to the parking lot and hunt one down. On top of that, it’s not obvious where you’re even supposed to find one, which makes the whole thing frustrating before you even start shopping.

And don’t bother with Scan and Go if you’re trying to save time. The exit checkers are not properly equipped to handle it, and only one person had the scanner needed to verify purchases. So instead of making things faster, the process actually slows everything down. You use the app to be efficient, and then you get stuck waiting because the store employees all don’t have the right equipment in place.

For a busy BJs inside a mall, this setup feels unprepared and poorly managed. It’s a simple thing, but when carts and checkout tools are this limited, it creates a terrible experience. What should be convenient ends up being annoying and time-consuming. Very frustrating overall.

Undergoing major renovations to look more modern. Burlington Coat Factory scheduled to open there soon since sign is up. The dollar store reopened in a new spot and the liquor store moved to a spot closer to BJ's.
BJs set in the back of this old mall, tons of great deals and selections, best to go on a Tuesday afternoon, otherwise it’s pure chaos trying to walk around on the weekend
With all the renovations going on the building feels so unsafe. It snowed today but no one salted or cleared the snow. Hopefully when they are done with all the renovations its will be better
My friends, staff and I have been to this place and that this place has many stores like BJ's, and many other stores. There were lots of people there eating, shopping, and many others. Also, that this mall has plenty of parking spaces and that the parking lot is free.
basic. this thing there is a BJs and liquor store..... can't wait to see what it has once all the renovations are complete..
A diamond in the rough. An intimate shopping complex in the middle of Middle Village. Come to work out, shop at BJ wholesale, get the latest home furniture, or even work at Amazon. There is something for someone at Metro Mall. Close to the M train & MTA bus route so access is easy.
December 2015. Under renovation, park at your own risk, I forgot to lock my door and they broke into my car and stole my coins. But other than that is a good BJ location, liquor store always has a free liquor tasting (tequila) they also have a gym and a game room for children's party's. U must b a member to shop at BJ's. Fully recommended
Kind workers, always neatly organized, plenty in stock, super clean. Happy to still have it around after so many years
My visit to the mall turned into a full-day outing. I started with shopping, where I found a good mix of local and international brands. Then, I enjoyed lunch at the food court, which was clean and had plenty of options. The kids had fun at the gaming zone, which was safe and engaging. Parking was the only challenge since it took some time to find a spot, but everything else was smooth. The mall left me with a positive impression overall.
I had memories with this mall back when it had Kmart and Toys R Us. Now, it's just BJ's, liquor store, mattress firm, and Fit nation. Can't wait for the remodel to bring new stores
When I was a young kid in the late 2000s up until the late 2010s, this mall was a busting center for shopping and retail and was fairly unique compared to other malls in the area, and holds a special place in my heart as the Toys R Us that was once located here was my closest one and one that I had gone times during my childhood. However, ever since the departure of Toys R Us and K-Mart and one section of the mall entirely closed, it hasn’t really made any attempt to bring back customers or any new retailers for that matter. Aside from BJ’s, Funtopia and maybe perhaps Burger King, it just feels stuck in the early 2000s and possibly even before that but now as a shell of what it once was. The level once used by Toys R Us, K-Mart and Nathan’s on the parking lot is now used by NYC DOT as storage. However the rooftop parking lot of the mall is the saving grace of the mall for now, as it provides an excellent view of the neighborhood as well as Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn.
I only went to Metro Mall because of Funtopia. It's a lovely place to take your child or children for birthday party or smoke just for fun.
Wow what a hike. I just followed the crowd walking with shopping carts to the mall. I tried to locate the entrance on Google Maps but couldn’t figure it out. There is a long ramp leading you down a hill to the entrance. There are stores inside. But I arrived before they were open. It’s near the subway, three buses stop in the area also. You will see a cemetery and a Catholic High School. Very interesting adventure to the mall.
I went to this location specifically for toysrus. I used to go here way back when I was a very young boy 1987 ish. I loved that toysrus to death, all the way into my early adult life, and even took my kids here many times. It's sad to hear how this toysrus location is closing so wanted to stop by check the old place out. Some how the magic is missing but still my bias does not want that location to close lol. The mail it's self really feels more outdated then the Kmart in this location. All that space and I really feel it is not used efficiently.
