Atmosphere was good, and I liked the concept of trying the different foods. However, I was disappointed with the paella. I haven’t had paella much but this one was slimy and extremely salty without any other flavors. Portion size was small and worst of all it was served in a paper plate that turned very soggy. My entire party thought it was unappetizing so I complained to the manager who told me “it’s good,” but begrudgingly gave me a refund. It was just such a weird culinary experience for it to tout a celebrity chef’s name.

Mercado Little Spain at Hudson Yards is a fantastic spot if you’re looking to immerse yourself in the flavors of Spain without leaving Manhattan.
The variety of food is truly impressive—you can wander between kiosks for a quick tapa like the Patatas Bravas or a slice of Tortilla de Patatas, or sit down for a more substantial meal of authentic Seafood Paella.

The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, capturing that authentic Spanish market feel with beautiful murals and high-energy music. It draws a great after-work crowd, making it a perfect place to grab a glass of Albariño or a gin and tonic with colleagues to unwind.

The only trade-off for that great energy is that it can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours. Finding a place to stand or sit while you eat your snacks can be a bit of a challenge when the floor is packed. However, the quality of the food and the lively "food bazaar" vibe make it well worth the visit.

Definitely stop by the Pastry kiosk for some churros and chocolate on your way out!

Response from the owner

We're so glad you captured the essence of Mercado Little Spain—from the patatas bravas to the paella, and especially those churros! We know the energy can mean a full house during peak times, and we appreciate you embracing the vibrant market atmosphere. Can't wait to welcome you back for your next Spanish escape!

Gracias a dios para ese lugar, tiene mucho bendiciones. There was a superb vibe in there with wine tasting and the most vibrant sights, sounds and smells. Wow the bacalao was super tasty. The cod was fresh and the beans were perfect. I’m not a big pulpo fan but when my friend ordered it. I had one bite and it was the most scrumptious I had ever tasted with a perfectly blended mashed potato. I’m so grateful to have stopped in here after work. Def stop in here too. Hope to see you soon!

Response from the owner

¡Muchas gracias for your wonderful words! We're thrilled you enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and wine tasting experience at Mercado Little Spain. So happy to hear the bacalao exceeded your expectations with its fresh cod and perfectly prepared beans. And what a delight that the pulpo won you over - that dish with our blended mashed potato is truly special! We're grateful you chose to visit us after work and can't wait to welcome you back soon. ¡Hasta pronto!

This lady has no idea how to work the register. Rude and condescending on top. We tried to order jambon iberico and a flauta mixto and she told us to go to the counter where they cut the meat for the jambon, so we do and the guy at the counter says no you gave to order it from the counter. So we go back to the counter and the lady makes it my fault that I didn’t understand her, meanwhile my husband and I both interpreted the same thing. So we go back to try to order the jambon and she says “that’s $33, not $18” in a rude can you afford it manner. At this point I’m like yes I wanted to order BOTH, but you told me flauta only here. So this goes on, no apologies and she gives me attitude. They should train people better to learn how to serve behind the counter.

Response from the owner

We sincerely apologize for the confusion and poor service you experienced. This interaction falls far short of our standards, and we take full responsibility for the miscommunication and unprofessional behavior you encountered. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. We would welcome the opportunity to make this right and invite you back for a better experience with us.

Okay...I took my French fries home because they do NOT serve ketchup....other than that...it was a delicious mix of lovely service, laughter, great food, fast margaritas....and guacamole. Loved the spices and conversation with the team about them.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for your wonderful visit! It sounds like you had a fantastic experience with our team, and we're so glad the conversation added to your visit. The laughter and great service are what we strive for every day! We hope those French fries were just as delicious when you got home, and we can't wait to welcome you back to Mercado Little Spain soon!

Very nice food hall localized under the The Edge. Several options for Spanish food, one better than the other. I also stayed for a while at the "Bar Celona" sipping some beers and sangrias, and the sangrias were very good! We had a pizza and an empanada at Manlo, which were also very good.

I’ve been here a couple of time. Each time is as good as the last. Love having a reason to come to the city, this market is located right by Hudson yards and Highland park. It’s tapas so you’re eating enough to get a taste but not feel overly full after. The concept is genius. There are lots of small restaurants, 1 menu and you order from 1, 2 or all the places at the same time. Great place for a girl’s day or night, great place to bring a date and the best place to bring family visiting from out of town. I recommend ordering Pan con Tomate,Patatas Bravas, Calamari and Arroz Cremoso de Setas (mushroom rice). For dessert the churros are delicious. There’s also wine, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. During the warmer weather there’s also outdoor seating, but I recommend eating inside the atmosphere is so nice.

I just can't say enough good about this place. We stumbled upon this place by accident and after one hour here, we canceled our evening reservation at a high end restaurant. The food and drink was so good, and authentic,we felt like we were in Spain. They have so many good items that you just can't find at any usual grocery store. It was busy, but we could still have a conversation and our server was very helpful navigating us through foods that we have never experienced. It's not cheap, but not expensive either. You get what you pay for.

Little Spain at Hudson Yards is the perfect hidden gem for authentic Spanish cuisine. You can find everything you crave — from pulpo a la gallega and tortilla de patatas to churros and a delicious jamón ibérico sandwich. The only downside was the staff at the seafood counter, who didn’t seem very friendly, but the server at the jamón stand was the complete opposite — very kind and attentive. Overall, a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back to try the gazpacho!

A lively and vibrant food hall serving up Spanish themed food and bev.

Liquid olives, charcuterie and bev were the highlight for us.

Personally am not big on shellfish so can't comment on that other than to say they had a wide selection and it was displayed nicely and looked fresh.

I think it's odd and unfortunate that they didn't have Ham Croquetas (only chicken).

The paella was decent, didn't blow me away but was not bad at all. Texture was on point and flavor was good.

We recently visited Little Spain for a family outing (party of six) and overall we loved it — we’ll definitely be back. We had: a beer to start, a jamón sandwich, a chorizo sandwich, a salami plate, ice cream and churros. Every bite delivered. The jamón and chorizo sandwiches were full-flavored, the salami plate very satisfying, and the churros + ice cream made for a perfect sweet finish.

The space felt lively but not overwhelmingly crowded. We were able to find seats (though we had to split up our family of 6 into two adjacent tables) which worked fine — some reviews do warn that it can get quite busy and loud at peak times. The vibe for us was just right — energetic without being chaotic.

What we appreciated:
• Great variety of Spanish-food offerings and strong execution. Other reviewers note that while some dishes are more dependable than others, the concept and setting are fun and flavorful.
• Good for sharing and exploring multiple items, which worked well with our group.
• A large wine list (even though we didn’t drink wine), which signals they take the Spanish food & drink culture seriously.

Things to be aware of:
• It is a bit pricey. Some reviewers feel that the cost is on the high side for what you get.
• While our service was fine, other guests have mentioned slower service or that during peak times it becomes noisy and seating/movement can be less ideal.
• Because we had to split our group of six, if you have a larger party it might take a little extra coordination or you may ask ahead for contiguous seating.

In summary: Strong recommendation from us. If you’re in Hudson Yards and want a lively Spanish-food trip with plenty of variety, this is a great pick. Just know it leans a little upscale in price and can fill up, so maybe go slightly off-peak or have a little flexibility with seating.

⭐️ We’ll definitely be returning.
