I wanted to love Marley Spoon. When a box arrives perfectly packed with fresh, complete ingredients, the recipes are genuinely excellent and dinner feels exciting again. That’s why this isn’t a one-star review.

Unfortunately, those perfect boxes have become the rare exception.

Three of the last five deliveries:
• Multiple missing ingredients (sometimes the protein, sometimes key vegetables)
• Rotten or bruised produce far too often
• Leaking ice packs and soaked, damaged boxes that leave everything warm and unsafe

What pushes this from disappointing to infuriating is the customer service. Reporting issues feels like shouting into a void. Getting a real person on chat or phone is almost impossible, responses are slow and scripted, and the “resolution” is almost always a tiny credit ($5–$15) that doesn’t come close to covering the cost of the ruined meal or the time I then spend running to the shop to replace missing items.

I’m not asking for perfection, but I am paying a premium for convenience and quality. Right now, Marley Spoon is delivering neither reliably, and the complete lack of accountability when things go wrong makes it impossible to keep trusting the service.

I’d love to come back and rewrite this as a five-star review one day, but until packing, quality control, and customer care see serious improvement, I can’t recommend Marley Spoon to anyone.

Made the sesame broccoli shrimp on rice this past weekend. It tasted every bit as good as it looks. It was one of the simpler meals to put together. Some of the meals are a lot of work and get too “messy” but the outcome is always worth it! Bon appetite!
We love the recipes! We've tried all the other meal subscriptions and this one is our favorite. The recipes are deliciously created, and we have some favorite meals from Martha and Marley. I appreciate the convenience of meal planning with my phone and not having to grocery shop.
This is our third weekly food delivery box service that we've tried, and after our third week with Marley Spoon it's clear that it's the best so far. Best, at least, for our tastes. Everything is fresh, ingredients are high quality, recipes are diverse, inventive, accurate and quite delicious. Even my husband, who is pretty particular about his dinner, has liked these recipes.

The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the delivery is a little haphazard (damage and spillage in one box from rough handling) and they pay no attention to my request to leave the box where it isn't visible. Which is quite easy to do on our porch. Otherwise, this would be a 5-star review.
It is with a heavy heart that I give this rating. Marley Spoon has the best array of healthy delicious recipes of the 3 meal kits we've tried. Unfortunately it is the only one that has sent spoiled ingredients multiple times. We canceled our subscription for several months because of several weeks of receiving spoiled ingredients and just getting a $5 refund each time. After several months with 2 other meal kits we decided to give Marley another try. We figured they would have resolved the supply issue. We got the first box this week and the green beans for the first recipe were moldy. I couldn't get customer service on the line. I submitted an electronic ticket with pictures of the spoiled ingredient. I haven't heard back. If this is not fixed we'll need to cancel again.
Box arrived smashed and the ice pack had broken open. Was it warm for very long? I’m not sure. I saved part of it, but meat? Nope. Sent a message same night (friday) today is Monday. I’ve gotten two emails. One was showing new meals, and asking for a review was second. Can anyone help me regarding the smashed box?
I’ve had three orders of Marley Spoon and my kids and I love it. I’m finding the joy in cooking again and I am officially out of my busy school/work week cooking misery food rut. This is a vegetarian Indian dish called Aloo Chaat. The flavor melody was nuanced, layered and delicious. I’m a forever fan.
We have really enjoyed this service. We previously did HelloFresh for awhile and I liked it too, but Marley Spoon is better. The recipes are more varied, and I have learned a lot about cooking actually. The directions are easy to follow. There was a problem with shipping in the warmer months, but it was corrected after I told them.
I've had other meal services and started with Plated. When that service ceased operations I switched to Marley Spoon and thoroughly enjoy the meals I get. Lots of selections and delicious!
I started with Plated and used Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, Green Chef and some others. Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon is currently much better than the others for me. Recipes are great. Ingredients are mostly fresh as opposed to processed and I enjoy cooking the recipes.
Marley Spoon is the best meal service I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many of them. The ingredients are high quality and the recipes are easy to follow and delicious! I used Marley Spoon for my thanksgiving pies and they were the best I’ve ever made. My kids love the popcorn chicken and the family size chicken pot pie was my husband’s favorite.
I’ve really enjoyed making the meals. I have had a couple that wasn’t my favorite but overall very tasty. I like that they have new recipes every week to choose from. One down side it usually takes me longer to prepare than it says. I guess I’m just not a fast chipper when it come to prep on the veggies.
This service has changed my life, no joke. I've lost over 40 lbs from using Marley Spoon since around March(I think?) 2021. Portions are satisfying but not overdoing it. The food is incredible. I eat so much less processed junk now. I've tried so many new foods. I actually like veggies now. I use the recipe cards to recreate favorite meals. As a 23 year old, this service has taught me a lot about cooking, and it helps me manage eating right under a tight schedule (college and work). Not every week has been entirely perfect, nobody is perfect, human error happens, but the company is reasonably accommodating when issues arise. My husband and I plan to continue Marley Spoon for a long time to come.
I've tried a few meal kit services - and Marley and Spoon is head and shoulders above the rest! The flavors, the quality ingredients, the variety, and the easy to follow instructions are all factors. I also love that we don't have wasted ingredients, and that we're learning new techniques. It's worth a try if you're considering a service, skip the competitors, and just jump right in... Nothing to lose! Oh yeah - I've also lost weight and we spend less than we did on wasted ingredients to have six meals a week planned and shopped for and delivered to our door.
My meals have been fantastic! Easy to make, healthy portions, all fresh vegetables, and a great variety of flavors. It has helped my confidence in the kitchen. I despise grocery shopping almost as much as I hate cleaning up after a mediocre dinner so this is a game changer for me. The meals have been all I had hoped!
